- In today's video I react to Pokemon Journeys Episode 116 where Lance vs Diantha takes place within the Masters 8. Alongside seeing cameos within like Ritchie returns in Pokemon Journeys, also Jimmy Returns, Marina Returns and Vincent returns in Pokemon Journeys from the Pokemon Chronicles Special Series! Then revealing more for the Masters 8 like Leon, Cynthia, Steven, Lance, Diantha, Alain, Iris and Ash in the Pokemon World Championship Masters 8!
Pokémon Journeys: The Series is the eighth part of the anime series. It features all of the regions from the main-series games, including the Generation VIII games Pokémon Sword and Shield. This series shares its Japanese name with the original series when the anime first premiered in 1997, and is officially labeled with "2019", the year this series started in, for disambiguation. This new series focuses on the two protagonists Ash Ketchum and Goh, along with their partners Pikachu and Cinderace. It also features a young girl named Koharu (Chloe), who has a Yamper, and her father, Professor Sakuragi (Cerise), who runs a laboratory in Vermilion City. It features all the regions that have appeared in the Pokémon games, from Kanto to Galar. Pokémon from each region will also appear while Ash is pursing Leon in the Pokemon World Coronation Series (PWC) and Goh is chasing his dream in Project Mew.

The episode was definitely an improvement from the previous one but nowhere to be perfect. We all knew the result and Lance isn't going to fight against Leon again... from the very beginning the writers made this very clear unfortunately. Diantha's Gardevoir just dodge's Dragonite's Hyperbeam but Lance's pokemon just wait and takes the hit.... Not only that Diantha had hugeeee I mean hugeeee type advantage there and Gyrados.... I mean Lance's Gyrados... the beast nearly took Leon's Charizard... (you know what this means right)? Just got knocked by a stupid pokemon? Really? .... I don't deny Diantha fought very well... but writers did everything for her to win to be honest... Otherwise the power difference was very visible between the two... my only nitpick that they did Lance very dirty... After Alain this really sucks... other than this the episode was pretty good

Something that makes me wonder about Lance is that if he ever trains with dynamax, he canonically only can be training that gimmick in Galar. Whereas for Z-moves and Mega Evolution, once you gather required stones and gear, you can practice wherever. So Galarian trainers have the advantage in terms of dynamax training

If you actually saw Lance's Dragonite in the video, that's not an ordinary Dragonite since it is bigger and it looks like 8'2" in height (OG Dragonite height=7'3").

Ash sitting in audience hurts the most. Like why are they wasting time on ash talking with Goh which he had done in whole series and who wants to see other champs talk. It would have been more interesting if Ash interacts with other champs. Rest of the tournament is good I think and to me Leon vs Alain was also good as it was successful in its purpose, and trust me guys it would have been more better but they only had half ep 🙁. And See the other battles are not feeling that strategic becoz they wanna make Ash's battles the best. And it has happened before in prev leagues too , only ash's 2 or 3 main battles were focussed, at least this time we are getting full battles as they are regional champs. Trust me all ash's battles would be banger and no one would look like nerfed or done dirty. Thats all from my side and be positive, this would be the best series ever.

It was nice to see Jessie just show her affection over Diantha’s Gourgeist reminding her of her own and the cameos are amazing… I just wish Ash would hang out with the other champions for me it deserves an 8/10

Remember Dragonite took the moonblast and stood still because after hyper beam it can’t move and it has to recharge. Diantha saw the opportunity to end it whilst it couldn’t move! :)

@@alperenayman620 That wouldnt make any sense. Even if it did hit, Gardevior would only have been hit by that one move the entire battle which isn't even super effective so how would it faint? Also Mega Gardevoir's speed outclasses even the Hydreigon, so yea It can dodge a 90% accuracy Hyperbeam from a Dragonite. If you watched the x and y anime you would know that Diantha has a connection with her Gardevoir that allows for commands to passed between them without being spoken, as Gardevoir is a Psychic type.
There are more reasons for the Gardevior to be able to dodge that Hyperbeam than there are reasons it shouldnt. The real question is, why'd the Gourgeist take two dragon pulses from Lance's Gyarados yet still survive a STAB super effective dark pulse from a Hydreigon
@@CherryblossomFoxx Mega Gardevoir take several hits, watch it again. Also Dragonite got boosted, that was Lance's plan to finish M.Gardevoir with one big blow in the end.

This was a great battle from a strategic standpoint. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to call light screen later during the battle. So that way my follow-up Pokemon what have a chance to use that move longer. But when Gardevoir use Moon blast at the very end, just by waiting a slight second since hyper beam has the chance to cause paralysis after using was the perfect finishing move
What? Since when does Hyper Beam have a chance to paralyse?
@@zimonzieclown1633 always! Even since the Gen 1 Pokemon game it has been a side effect of using that move that you cannot use another move or actually Dodge any incoming attack
@@davidMRherobetts That's not how it works. When a Pokémon uses a move like Hyper Beam or Giga Impact, they have to recharge the next turn; it has nothing to do with paralysis. Paralysis is a status ailment you inflict on the opponent, not your own Pokémon.

Excadrill is in for a rough battle as he's Quad/4x weak to Gastrodon. Based on previews, I'm assuming it will go like: Excadrill loses to Gastrodon, Gastrodon loses to Dragonite, Dragonite loses to Milotic, Milotic loses to Haxorus, and then the Final Battle of the Dragon Aces. And also realized that With Milotic being revealed to be Cynthia's, that would make Cynthia the first Champion trainer in the anime to display a full roster team of Six: Garchomp, Gastrodon, Glaceon, Kommo-o, Roserade, & Milotic
[excluding ash for obvious reasons]. And that makes it nice that since the fights are 3v3 & we know an immediate spot in most trainers in this lineup are their known-for aces, that means at most we'll see the Masters 8 trainers have their roster be revealed to be up to 3-5 pokemon (excluding Ash & Alain); except for Cynthia & maybe Leon

I enjoyed the battle, but I just don't understand why have dragonite have and use hyper beam of all moves knowing it's effects and the wrong times against Pokémon with the type advantage? It just seems like a dumb move to me
Well, Lance is known trainer relies on power and destruction. Majority of its pokemon movesets has hyper beam on it imo.
The Battle was okay 7.5/10 i was expecting more i think Iris vs Cynthia will Be 🔥 because the Masters 8 Battles so far are Bad to okay so yeah i Hope It will Be 🔥(If Not i will lose my mind)

A lot of people assumed Lance's Red Gyarados would be the one to Dynamax; but the preview for the tournament only showed Lance using Dynamax, it never really showed who underwent it & everyone assumed it was his Poster Ace (AND it's best to remember that despite how the tournament portrayed it, Gyarados is Lance's 2nd ace; his Original/1st Main-True Ace is Dragonite). Albeit I'm happy to see Iris's Excadrill again, I'm Kinda Sad cause I had hopes Iris's other pokemon she uses in this battle is any of her game-Champion Team Pokemon. Although I am happy that Iris watching the battle showed she was amazed/happy while watching Aurorus's fight; maybe that means she got over her Ice-type fear (although it would've been funny if she had an fairy type fear too though)
This was a good episode Lance vs Diantha It was good their was back and Fouth in Both champions getting Wins Lance’s Dragonite beats Amauros Goregiest beats Gyarados And Jesse was remembering her Goregiest she had Hydreigon beats Goregiest and then Mega Gyarados beats Hydreigon then Lance Dynamax Dragonite a nice reference to the Giant Dragonite from the original series and Dragonite does it best but Mega Gardevoir wins and Diantha wins and moves on to the semifinals this was a good battle better than Leon vs Alain and I liked the cameos of Ritchie nice to see him back Along with Sawyer, Tierno Shauna and Trevor and surprisingly Jimmy, Vincent and Marina from Chronicles Character from the three region Lance and Diantha Represented and Cynthia vs Iris starts off with the return of Cynthia’s Gastrodon and Iris’s Original Ace and true Starter Excadrill and in very excited for it especially after this battle.
I'll be honest but XYZ battles were way more entertaining and dinamic than this so called Master 8.... Can't get over the huge Nerf Alain received and how bad the battle between Alain and Leon was...

I have to say Lance Vs Diantha was totally expected having Diantha winning the match is proof that she's Kalos' only representative especially since Alain lost to Leon Kalos now rides on her just like now that Lance lost all of Kanto now rides on Ash so the 1st 2 matches were sending us a message only 1 representative please though Ritchie's return was shocking but Sawyer's I was like WTH I thought he was coming back for Ash Vs Steven other than that I saw the other cameos coming!!

The battle was great each champion showed why they are champions, displayed great skills and strategy. What is with the journeys writers nerfing Lance and Alain’s power? They have it out for Kanto, Johto and Kalos Trainers, calling out an all point bulletin 🤣. Lance was nerfed and he could have performed better. Moments that were strange is he did not tell his Gyrados to dodge or use move to evade Diantha Gourgesies attack of Halloween and not returning his Hydreigon against Diantha Mega Gardevior. I forgot how strong Lance’s Dragonite is. Dragonite did its thing and dynamax but I preferred him using his Gyarados again for dynamax. Diantha Gardevior came in the clutch. Diantha's victory was well deserved and earned. She was awesome. Lance was the powerful champion, breaking through Diantha defensives, and Diantha’s strategy won her the victory. Battle could have been better. Liked the small moments with Ash and Lance also with Iris excitement for her match against Cynthia to Ash.
I’m Thrilled that Alain is still around speaking to Steven Stone, Cynthia, and Leon critiquing Lance vs. Diantha. Happy he is going to be around to watch the rest of Master 8 Match-ups. Alain getting the love and respect he deserves after the catastrophic battle and smeared treatment he got against battling Leon. Cameo returns of characters from Kanto, Johto, and Kalos represent Lance and Diantha seeing Richie, Sparky, Jimmy, Marina, Vicent, Sawyer, and others melted my ❤ Richie and Sparky favorite return cameo.

I think any champion having hyper beam or like a giga impact moveis so stupid because your Pokémon literally can’t move for an entire turn. So if you’re at a type disadvantage like they can just one shot you. Also why doesn’t Lance have a move that is super effective against psychic and fairy. He probably would’ve been able to at least keep up longer.
Also how does Gyarados lose that easily. 🤦🏾♂️. Journeys masters eight battles have been the worst Pokémon battles I’ve seen since the unova region. Make them good like Sinnoh because they even have three on three battles and x and y too.

Frankly, I want to spend time working on my own. People only support the only regions which is awesome but I have my own region is not liked or loved as much and I put WAY more work into them. If they were supported more than I would. But as of now, no.
