Whenever a content creator blows up it usually loses it's roots and can't no longer connect to it's fanbase.
Tbf to those big channels, when they blow up, it's literally impossible to respond to all the comments they get (sometimes I struggle to do so even on my small channel).

I like that I can get away with playing underground music I love, and that I can get away with things that are terrible for the algorithm (like not showing my face, having poor video quality, using imovie, not jumping on meme bandwagons or covering super clichéd songs, etc.). And I might not be able to do those things if I had a bigger audience. But at the same time, if I had a bigger audience I could maybe make some decent money off this channel (and I certainly don't now - plus I'm pretttttty broke). So I'm torn about whether i want this channel to stay a "hidden gem" or not 🤷 but I'll probably just keep doing what I'm doing and I'll take whatever UA-cam hands me (all the while focusing a little more on playing live original music IRL cuz honestly that's more fulfilling, even though I *do* like making these videos)
