Your video brought back happy memories of that old workhorse. 42 years on and on a GL 1800 Goldwing now, we're still clocking up the miles though our hearts still yearn for our youthful figures and our faithful F1...
I could not ride a M/ bike now, not because Im 80 , but drivers now on our roads are a disgrace !! And thats driving my car. My last bike was a Yam. XS 1100 80s now that was an engine , I called it the "Flying Pig" handling was atrocious !
I agree with all you said, had a new one 76 every one thought it great looking Bike . But somehow lacked power for a four cylinder , and with a pillion on, felt like a 250. Remember the "Comstar" wheels were a revelation back then all had spokes. Still happy days !!!!!!
The police in the state of Victoria in Australia used these Hondas for many years then went over to R100 BMWs. Then they went with K 100 series and continued on with the R series OIL/Air cooled twins in the RT range. They still ride BMW's so that is a 42 year old relationship.
Rode one from Perth to Melbourne. Ran out of fuel on the Nullarbor Plain 2km from the road house and received savage sun burn between my gloves and Levi jacket. 1979.
Can I add not original your bike , i.e. mine had as said Comstar wheels and engine block was matt black., two things what real stood out from the rest.
@@robertjones-eb4xo K series (4 exhausts) ran right up until the end I think with the K6 (I call it the pretty one!) being mechanically same as F1, the F1 changed to F2 in 77 although stock was all over the place at the time
And in Europe the K7 too. The US and Canada had a K8 and F3 as well. Pretty much the same as the European models with minor changes at the seat and side cover badges.
Yes the design did not work IMO, all manufacturers went to a square tank look and single exhaust did not help the looks. Improvements over K were minor and it was 'old dressed as new' but good value in today's market compared with K series!
Hi Martyn, I love your review I have just brought a 1975 CB750F Its a US Import they got the F before us and we got the F1 like yours in 1976, they got the F1 too. I have a question and some advice. Firstly gearing on your latest video you commented on the gearing Mine is standard well the sprockets are 17/48, and at 50 MPH its doing 5,000 rpm. Is this the same as yours? Secondly I have a Delkevic exhaust, its hard to pack it with wadding but I got some in. Yes they are loud so I use low revs in town! If you e mail me I will send you photos. Anyway I love your videos they are a great help to me as a new owner.

Bought one in 1976 new. Coming from outdated British bikes this was a revelation and eventually stopped carrying a tool kit😉
Had a new one of these, loved it. I also had a brand new Honda 400 four in blue. They were the days. 😊
Honda usually makes up for any shortcomings with reliability, between them and Yamaha I have no reservations with either. Thanks for sharing ✌️🇺🇸
I think the F1, especially in red , was way better looking than the K series. Gorgeous.

Definitely lacks 'grunt' compared to a Commando and feels like its revving high all the time.

That's a heck of a distance from our UK perspective! I worry going 100k to the coast but it's 45+ yes old and I've had it to pieces to often!

The black engine and Comstar wheels were the F2, the F1 was the last of the wire wheel models and should have a silver engine.

Bought new the same identical 750 in spring of 1976. $2500 US dollars.

Ill check the rpm @ 50mph but it sounds about right,
As far as i remember, my F1 did about 4.000 rpm at 60 mph.
