Really appreciate you sharing your practical and extensive knowledge. As a simmer it is good to start learning the “REAL” workings and to not ignore them. I have not had the desire to turn on the realistic failures settings because I am sure that in my first long haul flight everything I am doing wrong (unknowingly) - will come back to bite me in the bum because ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’. Your channel is brilliant and is now teaching me what I “DON’T” know and I am going to look forward to turning failures on (I’m very sure I will want to after watching all your stuff). I will give suggestions too on future vids because there are lots of things that the PMDG documents just don’t make easy to find. The information is there in the FCOM no doubt BUT I find that reading the FCOM leads me to have more questions that can’t be answered. Your channel is really teaching me the basics to then fully use the FCOM information without the additional confusion. Having a real 747 pilot with his own channel for us simmers to refer to is GOLD. Thank you very much. I have only just started and subbed to your channel so this question may be otiose but will you be doing any VATSIM flights so we can see your full “in cockpit” procedures / methods / phraseology etc because you give excellent detailed information that I and others with my inquisitiveness and desire to be perfectionists crave and would appreciate. Once again thank you for sharing your fantastically detailed knowledge. Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for the kind words. I am glad you are finding value from the videos. I am thinking of doing some sort of live streaming in the future, but for now I have to start making some new video tutorials. I have not made any in over a year, but I am getting enough feedback from folks like you, that you like this level of detail. I have only done a few flights myself in the VATSIM network, my current job as an instructor/examiner on the 747 keeps me busy. When I somewhat retire, I will have more time. I just had my recurrent check ride this morning and the simulator really is just a more sophisticated version of these desktop simulations. The big advantage is having an actual control column, and thrust levers, sophisticated control fidelity, and accurate visual models. But the level D sim costs 30 million with devoted maintenance and the software on your desktop cost $100, but does a really good job replicating the jet, pretty amazing...

Yes, I am just getting into it but your explanations are logical and helpful. BTW, I replied to your post last week on the Avsim Monitor Forum. Hopefully that will help a bit for you. You should be able to do multimonitor with your FS or at least P3D!

Hi Morris, 757/767 are really good jets, I flew the 757, like a sports car, since it is overpowered...

7:20 ECAM maintenance pages. Nice thing to have. Shame on PMDG.

PMDG will not even fix many of the problems they have had for awhile now. I tried to get them to fix known issues, but have stopped trying...

Thanks for the video!! Very informative. A question: which simulation software are you using in the clips?

Hi Albert, The majority of the videos were produced with the iFly B747-400 and FSX Steam Edition, however now I have switched to the PMDG 747-400 and B747-8 using Prepar3D V4. I am on the Tech Team with PMDG. I have not made a new video in over a year, but will start up soon once again. Hope you are getting some value out of the tutorials...

Thanks Christian, I plan to work on it, problem is I am pretty busy away from home working in the real simulator a lot, but I will get there to create more content...
