I repeat myself Lee. I ordered our brand new car last October, petrol. Not once did the salesperson mention "EV" - he wasn't even tempted to do so, didn't offer us one to test drive, he binned the EV brochures right in front of us and rolled his eyes.

I'm an electronician I work in what's one of the most complex industry in the world semi-conductor manufacturing, in a single room one of many I have 1000kW running 24/24 7/7 so I know for a fact how insane the media are when they are enthusiast for 600kW fast charger we need our own ELECTRICAL SUBSTATION and direct connection to the 150'000V power grid to function (might be 220'000V actually) if those numbers are too crazy for you to fathom imagine that charging one car with that "futuristic" 600kW fast charger would be running 500 dyson hair dryers at max output every time someone charged his car where is the ecology in that ? edit : an haidryer is 1'200w that fast-charger would be 600'000w funny how the media use the abreviated number instead of the real one, they don't say your polluting tv uses 0,057kW do they ?

I'm fed up of comments from people ridiculing Electric Vehicles. They don't know what they're talking about. Personally, I drive two top of the range EVs, a Jaguar and a Porsche. Their acceleration and handling is fantastic. They look brilliant and they're really cheap to run. They need hardly any maintenance and haven't depreciated since I bought them. Literally the only criticism I could make of them is sometimes, if I really push them into a corner, they can fly off the track and get stuck under the sofa....
I think the Mac Master is now being paid by the electric car manufacturers to promote the vehicles he has previously slagged off he is a double agent who works for the highest bidder

My bmw (petrol) was in having a service. I was given a fully electric one for the day. The ev said as I prepared to drive of that it had a range of 350 miles. I drove from the garage to the junction, something like 100 yards. In that time, the mileage had dropped 10 miles!!! The car looked nice, but was a nightmare to drive. I returned the car early, relieved to be free of it.

Let's be practicle, I have to travel picking up parts from all over the country, I often travel sometimes 250 miles one way, its a long days drive, and if I had an electric van, I would need to stop midway on the way, for an Hour!! so would need to stop at least 4 times and pay £70 for each charge maybe more, so the trip would cost double the diesel cost them 4 extra hours, so that turns my 10 hour day into a 15 hour day.....so not realistic.
You nearly had me there, Lee. 😂😅 .I'll be sticking with my 2007 Mazda 5 diesel 2ltr and fill it up locally every 500 miles. Also, I've left Bilbao with a full tank and hit the motorway, and travelled all the way to the south coast of Spain before filling up again. Over 600 miles, and arrived around 6 pm. with two comfort stops after leaving the overnight ferry about 8 am. Try doing that with an EV.

I remember a video you did last year. You drove to Scotland to show how long it takes to charge and how much longer the journey takes. The first thing you did was to pull into Porsche hull to charge with over 75% charge left. You knew that by charging with over 75% of battery left that the charge would be slow. You were also caught out lying in a charge stop in Wales. You seem to want credibility but do nothing but lie hoping the gullible will fall for it

I spent 5 years working for a well known breakdown company, in the team I was in not one of us would have an EV after our experience with them

I know a number of people who have traded in their EV for a real car with a combustion engine, because they were completely fed up with it.
too high purchase costs, too high insurance costs, no longer being allowed to park in some places due to fire risk, etc. etc.
the worst part for them was the residual value of their cars when they were traded in.
One of them had to drop 60,000 euros, which I find unacceptable.
Good luck to those who want to continue driving in that junk, but stop lying to yourself, because those rolling batteries are certainly not that great.

Who goes from John O Groats to Lands End ?? I Do !! ... I also went from The Orkney Islands to Eastbourne for my job as a Hospital Service Engineer.. { I Live in Leeds } all in an Ford Escort Van. .... its called Work !! An EV would be Useless... I did 800 to 900 mls a week just getting to work. Not possible in a working day, having to wait for the damn things to charge up. !!!.... Im too busy... A Hospital is waiting for me !!! I remember a video you did last year. You drove to Scotland to show how long it takes to charge and how much longer the journey takes. The first thing you did was to pull into Porsche hull to charge with over 75% charge left. You knew that by charging with over 75% of battery left that the charge would be slow. You were also caught out lying in a charge stop in Wales.

Yep. So I got the whole way to my destination!! Porsche chargers are faster. Fact. I knew on the way back there were very few fast chargers.

It would not matter how fast the charger is or the fact that the Taycan can charge at a MAX 270kwh if you have over 70% battery the car is going to charge slowly FACT.
