You've inspired me to take more trips without using any private vehicles. While it can often be more difficult I think it's really fun and exciting and has given me a completely new perspective.
"We are witnessing a rare moment, here we see a wild Miles socializing in his natural habitat. Amazing" - Daviid Attenborough, probably. "Why do you have to demonstrate everything?" Aaron's been real quiet since Meir dropped that diss track. The plot twists are quality entertainment. Kudos to these companies for giving us such much needed drama for this challenge. And Jackson is the John Williams of the transit community with all this amazing background music! Also, you can get around the AirTrain fare at JFK by getting off at Lefferts Blvd and taking the Q10 bus from there to Ozone Park on the A! Fun fact: The voice of the announcement saying "ATTENTION PLEASE" is Carolyn Hopkins! She can be heard at over 200 airports around the world from Incheon to Paris-Charles de Gaulle! And she can also be heard at NYC Subway stations and the Staten Island Ferry! She does it all from the comfort of her Maine home too (though originally from Kentucky)!
Fun fact: I saw Jordan waiting at government center for a green line train and when I got on the train, he sat right across from me! I was gonna say hi to him, but I was too nervous. Then he got off at park street. Oh well.
"Okay, this is a little crazy" You know it's actually crazy when Miles, the guy who does crazy transit adventures, admits that it's crazy. Ah yes, the best city in the US, ✨Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch New York✨. Cleveland bringing the jetBlue drama is such a Cleveland move....FUN TIMES IN CLEVELAND AGAIN! Yes Lucky Star is a Chinatown bus service (well, was as since November 2022, FlixBus absorbed them). It's also apparently the name of a manga series too...and a Madonna song. Considering how much the US government has tried to stamp them out and other Chinatown bus lines were absorbed by Megabus, interesting to see one like Lucky Star last that long. Would love the Park Street song as my ringtone. Park Street's history began in 1897 when the upper level opened thanks to the southern section of the Tremont Street subway from the Public Garden incline through Boylston to Park Street. The lower level opened in March 1912 when the Cambridge subway opened from Harvard Square to Park Street Under. The station was first built with 4 tracks serving 2 island platforms. These were connected by two loops, allowing streetcars from the south and west to reverse direction and return to the portals and surface routes.
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and now live in Linden, NJ. So I enjoyed part 2 so much watching everyone try to get to NYC from the airports lol. Having picked up my friends by car at JFK and dropped them off at EWR, what a nightmare! And LGA is like no one wants to fly from there lol.
Love this !!!, Would love to have seen Amtrak to New London. Ferry from New London CT to Orient NY. Transit bus Orient to Greenport NY. LIRR Greenport to NY Penn.
That's what I thought they were doing when I saw the red route go over Long Island before realizing it was a plane. Hope to see this in a future Miles in Transit video though.
@@MilesinTransit Fair, this route would be too out of the way. Not to mention Greenport service on the LIRR is severely limited. Then again, it would've been a good troll move to just be like "LIRR and Suffolk Transit, take it or leave it...have fun!"
@@MilesinTransit Roger that. It would have been interesting to see if the land/sea/land route would have beaten the bus route, considering how bad traffic can be on I95 in Conn. I think if the route were reversed, that being NYC to Boston on a Saturday morning in the Summer, the ferry route would have a very good chance of beating the buses. I95 northbound on Summer Saturdays is a parking lot. From Greenwich to all points east.
Just Fabulous And So Much Fun!! You Made A Old Queen From San Diego🌴 SMILE!! And Made My Day Much Brighter. Thanks So Much!!Love Your Channel, Looking Forward To Your Summer Adventures.🌈
Figured I'd throw this idea out there, since it is related. If you ever do another Road to trip (presuming it's not DC), a great idea (with the right amount of fundraising) is flights out to San Francisco from New York and then using various public transport options (bus, subway, trolley) to get to Fisherman's Wharf and back. You could feasibly do it in one day, too.
That's an interesting thought, although I'm not sure how interesting it would be to just have, like, six teams on planes. It's hard to make good content on a plane!
@@MilesinTransit The content comes from the transport options to and from the airport (since both cities have a lot of public transport options) and potential issues with airlines at both JFK and Newark. Plus, there's a non stop to Oakland on Spirit, where you can get one team to use the larger bay area transport options to get into San Francisco proper. Just a thought.
shouldn't take the commuter rail to worcester, Pvta Bus to amherst, Another Pvta bus to springfield, CT rail to New Haven, and a Metro north to Grand Central
The fact that you visted the McDonald's at the bus terminal means this was filmed last year and since you bought tickets at the door means it was probably before flix "partnered" with lucky star, which makes it summer? On another bus note I didn't know OurBus ran from Boston to NYC, I wonder if they are going to operate out of the bus terminal expansion if that SNAFU ever resolves.
I live in southern Fairfield County Connecticut so you’re passing right in my area in transit from my house to New York City. It’s like 45 minutes. The traffic in Hartford and Waterberry in Danberry in New Haven and New London is awful. My parents and I have driven the route through Hartford and through New London and both of them are honestly just OK but I prefer the route through New Haven because it is more scenic along Long Island sound also, I am rooting for you guys and I hope the Peter Pan bus stops at New Haven but I don’t know if your bus will have to stop in Stamford because Stanford train station is huge. I don’t know what’s stopped there I think they do because me and my dad have driven down there from my house it’s only like a 20 minute drive even though we live in the neighboring town
So the Logan Airport groups got one of the few remaining Neoplans on the Silver Line - and it was 1125, which was the same exact one I rode yesterday! How cool is that!
This video at least confirms the same bus manufacturer does that same 'doors opening' voice, on both CTA and MTA buses. Probably all the newer buses from this manufacturer(besides Chicago and NYC, for transit systems all over where they were manufactured for), have that feature. The fare you spent to film this video for all these rides, kinda makes me wish CTA and MTA would consider fare capping. Milwaukee(MCTS) buses do have fare capping implemented now(since last year I think, and I did a Milwaukee trip this past December), and its nice.
Very unlikely. A lot of the footage from the last one we did (Germantown) is really bad and I think it's pretty unlikely that video will ever come out.
The American flight was on one of their A321T Airbii which are intended for trans-Continental service. They will be reconfigured into “normal” seating soon.
My first thought with the flickering bathroom lights was maybe the door wasn't latched properly. Is it one of those where the light comes on automatically when the door shuts/locks? Hate when they make it confusing 😩
Do you think a great race in Chicago would be possible? I mean, there's at least thirteen ways to get from State and Madison (0E 0N) to the Jeff pk transit center on the northwest side!
Maybe! Although the best races are the one where every route is at least somewhat reasonable - for Jefferson Park, it looks like the Blue Line and Metra are the only two reasonably competitive options?
