Nice to see a local Thruxton and hear some of its history. I have a 1969 Thruxton, Australian delivered as well. The factory exported 91 Thruxton in total to be sold in Australia. Of course now quite a few more have come in as private imports. A special machine.
Lovely Velocette and I appreciate this video. Would love to have heard the story, but I found it very hard to understand what he was saying because the music was so loud in the background.
Thanks for watching , I didn’t realise at the time how loud the music was. I will re-edit without the music over the next few days and repost. Thanks for your feedback
An excellent Thruxton Venom! Does this have a aluminium barrel, or were they using cast iron muffs as the Venom went over to in 1959? It would be nice to see this with the GP carb on. Chris B.
Loved the story, I have a similar story after reconnecting and buying my Sportsman. The only part I did not like was the background music, I liked the music, just very distracting for someone with hearing issues. I'm from Ballarat I wonder who owned the Thruxton?
Hi , here is the link for the re-edit. No music.THE VELOCETTE THRUXTON. OWNING A DREAM .REVISED EDIT, NO MUSIC ua-cam.com/video/WANfXc5xhOY/v-deo.html I will find out the owners name from Ballarat. Thanks for watching
@@thehagonfactory No worries, tell your Dad I bought a 1939 Velo MAC 350, complete and running with all road gear in tact in Taren Point Sydney in 1968, as a 14-year-old for $14.00. I went to Tech with a bloke who owned a Thruxton, the same as that one, I've always loved them and so did my Dad. He explained the high cam and short push rods and how the Velos were a fast bike when tuned well. I actually rode a Hagon 350 all alloy MAC on Alcohol at Nepean in the 70s, what fun. Bye.

Looks like a very interesting video, but guys- you've overdone it with the music, big time. Not only the beginning, but the first 4 minutes was all I could watch. The music itself is an odd choice, but the mix between voice and music is completely the wrong way round, making it hard to grasp all the dialogue from a fairly soft-spoken gentleman. Sort it out and repost, please. I feel I'm qualified to say this as firstly, I've worked in the film industry for 50 years, and secondly, I own a Velo Thruxton too. Looking forward to a revised presentation.
Nice to see the Velocette however please edit the music out, I am here to learn and listen to commentary about this awesome bike, not foot tapping to country swing!
Another great video Chris. I could watch ur Dad talk bikes all day, every day. 👍
Thanks Craig. He loves talking bikes

@@thehagonfactory thanks! I ride a 1954 MSS tricked out Venom spec. It’s a wonderful machine just like this one but not as racy : ))
Awesome bike, lucky man.

Thruxtons always had cast iron barrels.
Brilliant.
Thanks Russ , sorry I missed the Indians on the weekend
As Alan said you can sit on your chair beer in hand and just look at the Velocette.
I do that with my 52 G80..
Its also in my home for the winter..

The music is so very distracting. The bloke is quiet spoken, so often hard to hear. Otherwise, an excellent production on a wonderful subject.
Hey , I am working on a re-edit, hopefully you will find the time to watch again .
Appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching
New edit is up
