I have paid the same amount for a 1.5 hour train journey to London, standing packed like a sardine next to the toilet as the seat reservation system had broken 😂 Just when you think the vlogs can’t get any more beautiful, along comes THIS! 😍❤️
Been living in Anchorage for many years now, and have enjoyed this series so far! Its really fun to see what others think about my home state. Running Commentary of my thoughts while watching the video: - An Alaska Railroad trip is probably my #1 recommendation for tourists to do when in Alaska if its within your budget. - Anchorage to Seward is beautiful, but I personally prefer the Anchorage to Fairbanks ride. Its like a 12 hour trip but you get a close up view of Denali and you get to see a lot more diverse landscapes on the Fairbanks trip than the Seward trip. But its all day and much more expensive.
@kronik907 Thanks for watching. I appreciate it, and yeah, I said if we ever went back I'd like to do that 12 hour train trip, loved this day it was amazing!
Your skill in capturing the breathtaking beauty of Alaska had me almost in tears. The pure joy on both your faces summed up it all. Thank you so much for sharing
Looks amazing... what a train ride... gold star all the way mate.. definitely worth it... lovin these vlogs .. and the music makes them even more epic ... BRILLIANT 😁🇬🇧👍
Breathtaking 😮 I am bawling right now 😭 next time I go back the train is definitely the way to go. For those who've never been to Alaska; Its beauty is just a million times more beautiful and mind-blowing in person 🤯 thank you so much for taking us so long.
Hi Nicky and Claire. What a spectacular train ride to Seward. The Goldstar service is the way to go. Sitting on top with glass windows and a roof surrounding the both of you so you can really feel like you're part on the scenery.Train travel is a great way to travel, especially with majestic views of nature and wildlife around you. Nothing beats =experiencing it in person, but you did a hell of a job capturing the splendid scenery of the trip.👍👍🤙🤙.Thanks for sharing and take care.
Wow your camera work is stunning, got a real sense of how it would be there, especially watching on a big screen. Can't do much travelling anymore but always happy to hang on to your's and Claire's coat tails. Can't wait for the next one, wherever it may be x
Thanks, always appreciated! Sorry you can't travel so much, hope ur enjoying what I'm putting out. We arrived in Seward at 11.30am at the end of that video, I decided to just make it about the train so Seward is up next👍
Hi N&C - totally forgot how long the daylight hours are there with daylight as you were leaving for the train. Nice meal on the train - you are quite well taken care of for the price - for the price we would choose the GoldStar service too. Absolutely amazing scenery and without the drone too. Snow capped mountains are so majestic. You really did have some nice weather. Amazing "eagle alley" spectacular viewing. Thank you for another great vlog guys, can't wait for the rest in the series. Cheers!!!!😎❤🍻
One of these years I am going to ride as many trains as I can before I leave Alaska. I get free tickets for life because my Dad's an engineer for them for almost 30 years and only used the benefit as a kid lol.
All Aboard ! what a fantastic trip breathtaking photography and of course Goldstar travel - the sneak views of mountains rail and wildlife look Brill on my large 4k tv 👍
I can't imagine it gets better in person, that was so beautiful not just the scenery, the whole video. I definitely think the price is worth it for the VIP. Thank you so much, I'm going to watch it again!
Wow! A great train ride, well worth the price. The beauty of Alaska is more amazing than I realized. Great video of highlighting this beauty. In fact, your vlog has set in motion, planning for this train ride in the future. Looking forward to the next video.
That train was gorgeous, it looked brand new or they clean it very well!! I think the gold standard was well worth it. Personally I felt like $220 pp was reasonable! Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff as usual from you guys! Have traveled the Seward highway several times but I’ve never taken the train there! I’m just catching up as I was at a family reunion and was preoccupied with my elderly parents (91 and 89) can’t wait for the next one! Cheers mate!🍻🥂
My hubs was in the Air Force in the late '60s based in Alaska - he loved it also...wanted to go back but died way too soon. Watching your vlogs, i can easily understand why he loved it. Thank you so very much for putting the visuals to his verbals.
Appreciate the beautiful views, solid info, cozy accommodations, food menu n grub and fantastic train ride. You are living the dream. Thanks for bringing us along.
This was so nice to see. Awestruck by the vistas. The only thing I’ve done that is similar (but really no comparison) is the Napa Wine Train. It’s about 30-40 miles, up and back. They offer different packages, but most include a meal and unless you have a package that visits wineries, it takes about 3 hours. It’s nice, but of course, the views aren’t as spectacular, unless you enjoy seeing vineyards. Thanks for sharing the ride. Quite the treat. Also, buy the hat, Nicky. You can put them on a separate tree at Christmas. And a not-morning-person Claire still looks lovely. Then again, how she feels in the morning, only Claire can say. My opinion, I think she just wanted to get the show on the road, er, on the tracks.
So incredibly beautiful and breathtaking!! Thanks to you and Claire for bringing us along as I would not have wanted to miss this one. You guys should really be highly paid professional travel vloggers!! How long was the train ride in total? This has now been added to my bucket list! ❤❤
Another absolutely fantastic video. The scenery, the wildlife, the dramatic music you add, wonderful. So glad you are both enjoying a bucket list item!
Your Alaska vlogs have been absolutely spectacular. I watched this one tonight remembering that it was one year ago that I was in Alaska. Such a beautiful place, can’t wait to see more of your videos. We did the train from Denali to Whittier, which was nine hours, thought I would be bored, but it was amazing. You have captured Alaska so well. Well done folks😊
Added that to my to do list, great shots Nicky, unbelievable looking value. Enjoying this series, I'm from the UK and done a lot of the US but the NW and Alaska has eluded me so far so I'll be taking notes 🙂
I kept saying wow those trees full of Eagles my jaw dropped. Well worth the money a lifetime of memories for you on that ride. Stunning views. The air must seem so clean & fresh outstanding vlog Nicky!
We are doing a cruise in May 2026, so I've started planning and saving for all our excursions and everything. We will be flying into Anchorage a couple days early, and now my plan is to ride the train from Anchorage to Seward the day before our embarkation. How long is the ride from Anchorage to Seward? Watching this video has done nothing but made more excited for the trip!!
Sounds like the same as we did, although we started in Seattle, flew to Anchorage for 3 nights in the cottage. The train is worth every penny, and the trip is 4.5 hours long. Thanks for watching the video it was a great trip!
Just a heads up. If you book your cruise to early starting from Seward you won't be going on this train and have troubles getting a bus to Seward . I am trying to rearrange my cruise and start in Vancouver and then end in Anchorage or fairbanks. 😂

Like whene I had ordered a bush grilled bumper for my Jeep it costed 400$ but there it came to shipping it was 600$ because it said they don’t ship to Alaska . But still Alaska dose have a special place for my hart and I do love the cold and not so Much for the summer because of the heat and us Alaskans don’t like the heat even though it is 70 degrees outside but still it not always sunshine and Rainbows but if you decide to come here by all means go ahead you do you but you and bring a piece if you want to survive because the moose is more deadly then a brown bear and the dears only attack if they are hungry and bring something bigger then a 22 ,it doesn’t work on bears because they don’t pierce them and bear spray will not work up here Either and it is like seasoning and the locals will tell you that ,but it will work against moose though if push comes to shove and no it is not me trying to scare you off not going ,or trying to joke around ,I’m not kidding . I have seen and done all of those above from trial and error …
That's alot to take in!😁 I was told by a few locals about the dangers of moose, someone told me a guy was killed in Homer quite recently trying to take pictures up too close! Stay safe over there👍

That was great! Your photography is top notch. Seeing all those eagles 🦅 just hanging in the trees was amazing! Alaska is so beautiful!
We saw loads of eagles throughout the trip, very cool!
Looks so amazing. Definitely something I want to do. And that train cost is 100% worth every penny!
It really is! Even if you do the 12 hour one to fairbanks it's like $500 each.
