That Calcite is INSANE !! I saw the pics you sent but man nothing like what is in the video ... we need to hit that spot at night when there is no traffic and see how it lights up under a UV light ... HA!!! A giant Covid YAY!!! you kept the Covid 🤣🤣
This stuff doesn’t glow very much slight blue and orange reaction. Doing what I can to keep the streets safe brother! 😆 we’re going to have to get an early start Friday it’s gonna be HOT
Can we also be sworn to secrecy on this spot 😂 you find the best stuff at these road cuts! Crazy you got that second one out basically whole from where your friend found hers! That’s my favorite one you found so far.
Best calcite crystals i've ever found. Legit! I have info that there's an even better spot nearby... Stay tuned! That is definitely on the list... Probably next week
Thank you 😊 that pointy type is pretty common in my area but big nice ones like this are difficult to come by. I definitely had a lot of fun on this trip said a prayer of thanks leaning against a church when I was done 😆
Thank you 😊 I didn’t find it myself I’m blessed to have generous rockhounding friends. I’m hoping to get Adam in a video this year but our schedules don’t often line up. He’s a wealth of information and experience!
Excellent finds, my friend! Those are some really, really nice dogtooth calcite pieces. Makes me wonder how big they are 100 feet down!? Isn't funny how sometimes we're like "I don't know about this spot...." then we go to "Oh, Wow! This is my best piece yet!!"
I think there’s something amazing almost everywhere but it’s just not exposed enough in most places to ever find. This was a fun day! Definitely exceeded my expectations
Danggggggg! Those rock cuts are just calcite gold mines! I've only found like yellow florescent calcite in jefferson county, but never anything like the dog tooth calcite. Really awesome finds man.
Oh yeah lol 😅 very steep and crumbly footing but worth it! Pro tip always have a hearty breakfast and don’t skip lunch before you go out rockhounding 😂
Thanks for the info! I wasn’t sure since it was an acid. I feel safe trusting THE rock master though 👍🏻. Someone told me put them in vinegar for about a minute and then rinse them off. 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t know how I feel about that. Anyway maybe I’ll do a cleaning video on these
Holy 💩 man! The size of those crystals and geodes is insane. What a cool spot. It does seem pretty intense though with the traffic and sketchy overhangs. We'd get carried away and probably die there, but at least very happy. 🤣 congrats on all the epic finds. Good start on the wizard beard too. It's your calling.
A little sketchy, but worth it. Killer double terminated piece and that large nodule. Did pretty good both days. That one piece looked cool with the uv light. Cool video, Dustin.
Yeah I always feel a little sketchy at road cuts but it wasn’t bad honestly and definitely worth it! Definitely the best calcite crystals I’ve ever personally found
That happens, I like to leave some nice stuff in my tailings for the next folks too, I just watched his 1st fish video last night, he did great out there
You could always use an off piece and experiment with rust off to see if it works (maybe leave it in less time). Muriatic acid works but you have to do a few second dip only and neutralize well.
Yep it’s just surface stains from being exposed. I’ll try this. Thanks for the advice. I’m sure I’ll put it to good use. There’s another spot near this area that I plan on exploring soon I’m told is even better
Wow what a roadcut. I found one very similar with nodules galore but it’s all quartz instead of calcite so not nearly as cool imo. Going to try and have a few I found sphered. Nice video bud.
Yeah I don’t think there’s any Quartz whatsoever in these which is cool but makes them way too fragile. Best calcite I’ve ever found though so it was definitely exciting. Super fun day and I was blown away when I cleaned up that big one

You’ll have to drive to the spot blindfolded and bring me a snack like Kyran did, but yeah sure 😂
Amazing dog tooth calcite crystals! Awesome road cut!

Very interesting. Cheers from East Coast, Canada.
That was a great rockhounding venture for sure! I’ve never seen calcite crystals like those… amazing and well done,

@@dustinfindsrocks … with your lucky whiskers… 😉

That is great to find a road cut like that !! All your finds are amazing :) Congrats on them beauties 🤩

@@dustinfindsrocks I agree 100%. There’s something neat everywhere, we just need to find it!
Really hoping to get down to Flash Mountain and hang out with you and Chris this fall for a few days!

@@dustinfindsrocks I would love that!! I’ve only been once, and would like to go again…but when it’s a little cooler.

This was in Jefferson county! I can't say more though I was sworn to secrecy. Thank you. Best calcite i've ever personally found for sure.
Absolutely gorgeous calcite crystals, your lucky whiskers sure did work, it looked pretty tricky to get to some of them
Oh yeah lol 😅 very steep and crumbly footing but worth it! Pro tip always have a hearty breakfast and don’t skip lunch before you go out rockhounding 😂
Great finds my friend! You can totally use iron out on calcite! I use it all the time for my calcite specimens here in Florida.

Wow that is some great calcite! Sweet spot.
Heck yeah!!!

Yeah I can’t grow a beard 🤷🏻♂️😆 it was definitely sketchy at first but after finding that big pocket I put my apprehension aside

Awesome finds! I like dogtooth calcite. I’ve only stumbled on a tiny pocket once so far.
Best I've ever found man! I'm gonna send you a couple pieces
@@dustinfindsrocks nice! Can’t wait to see that stuff in person!
This is so cool! Such neat crystals!!
Thank you 😊 I was definitely impressed! I’ve found lots of calcite but this is by far the best so far
Wow. great finds. Ironout will dissolve it bit as well. usually makes it hazy so not a good idea other than a quick dip if needed.
Yeah I’m not sure if I’ll try or not. I got lots of different advice. I’d rather have an oxide stain than a ruined crystal
yup. select an unlucky victim and test him out. LOL

Some nice calcite crystals for sure 👍
Definitely won’t be deep frying these in muriatic acid 😆
Dang, what a sweet spot, awesome scores
Yeah I was actually back to this spot with Jeff HuntingRocks this weekend. Didn’t spend as long though so didn’t find as much
That happens, I like to leave some nice stuff in my tailings for the next folks too, I just watched his 1st fish video last night, he did great out there
If you hit it with MidWave UV, they will likely go hot pink. I bet you used a LongWave as they are a light red in LW. The ones I found in MO did.

I got several tips thank you 😊 I will probably do a cleaning video

Also if it is surface rust, you can also use diluted citric acid in a spray bottle and a tooth brush and the rust just comes off.

That area looks very familiar to where i am in missouri...
Lots of cool calcite around

I don’t think iron out would be good but I’d like to know a good way to clean calcite too lol
I got a couple tips from Derek the rock master. I might have to make it a video
Wow that was awesome!! Pro tip: eat breakfast before you rockhound 😆 Great job 💚💚💚
LOL Definitely!!! I might even cover that in my next video. It's important! I ran out of gas!!!
