i would never be in favor for under 70% crit rate, no matter how much critical damage i sacrifice in the process, especially for those characters that do a big portion of their damage in one hit.
@johankaruyan5536 i am including artefact bonuses like marrrechause hunter or obsidian codex. Just a personal general rule to be above 70% crit rate taking into account other external sources of crit rate.
It depends on the unit. If the unit does multiple hits, for example Arlecchino, 70-75% is enough however if your unit does most of their damage in 1 hit, for example Navia, 80% and upward would be recommended because if that one hit doesn't crit it's gonna feel awful as compared to Arlecchino where its just whatever if she doesn't crit one or 2 times
2:04 this only matters with characters who have large portions of their damage behind one big hit or very few hits. The point of increasing crit rate beyond what's optimal on average is just to reduce variance so you have more consistent performances. But if you're using, say, Fischl, 50%/100% is going to outperform 60%/80% and 70%/60% assuming all else is equal. She hits so often, you don't care if any particular hit crits, just that she's doing the most damage she can on average. And for characters who use a lot of stats, getting high crit on an optimized build isn't going to be the easiest. I'd say judging a build based on substat efficiency is going to yield better results. Ideally, one would just use the optimizer to do the thinking for them
The best ratio is such, at which the expected value of damage increase from critical strikes 1 + (cr * cd) is at it's peak. Since most sources of crits in the game can trade you 2 cd for 1 cr, the optimal ratio assuming purely flexible choice of parameters is 1-2 ratio. There are very little number of characters, for whom it is really hard to build cr. For example, Hu Tao with Homa and without Marechaussee Hunter. For them it is permissible to build a little more cd. But there are A LOT of characters, for whom it is extremely easy to build cr: any character with the natlan cr set or Marechaussee Hunter. Building them with ratios skewed on the cd side is quite unreasonable. (assuming under 100 cr at 1-2 ratio)
What I think of is, If the character has nukes of damage I want a high crit rate so no nuke is missed, Like Navia but if the character has Consistent damage like arlechino or Nuvi I go for more crit damage
I thought i was going to see some sort of comparison or character theorycraft about the amount of the main stat they need vs the dmg ceiling crit dmg will provide you comparing to the main stat ;--;
This was so informative and helpful! Thanks for making this video! My Raiden has a 28/124 crit and I keep trying to get better artifacts but rng keeps saying no! I was wondering what I should aim for so with my luck I’ll try to aim for a 60/160 crit
Well a question can i uae Wolf Gravestone on mavuika as dps ? I have like 3 gravestone rotting in my inventory lol or do i need to pull mavuika weapon like madatory get dps work ? (As i want to pull atle weapon ) hope to get an answer 😅
It might be because I'm an old genshin player but I didn't find your video really informative: You didn't explain why the 1:2 ratio is advised (for those curious, it is because this ratio would give you the best average damage) nor did you mention the importance of quantity of statistic over idealistic ratio. Furthermore, the scaling of crit is not really exponential since although stacking more crit does increase the value of previous crit stats (up to 100 crit rate, for said 1:2 ratio), it comes at the expense of other stats who have better opportunity cost than crit (like ATK or EM) once you reach enough crit which means that with the same amount of usefull stats you could do more damage with balanced stats rather than by all-ining on crit.
Plus, the answer to the right question behind this video, which is "when should I stop farming for my character?", would be "once you have more than X amount of usefull substat on your set it will take you Y(X) amount of time to get an upgrade on average, you can then decide how much time to get an upgrade you find still reasonable"
you know what would be better than 70/210 on average? 100/150. Very few characters have a lot of sources of Crit DMG and few sources of Crit rate. The only one I can think of the top of my head is Hu Tao with Homa and without Marechaussee Hunter. If you can do 1-2 ratio without significant issues, you should probably stick to it. The expected value of damage increase from crits is usually better this way.
80/160 = 260 crit Value from all sources 70/210 = 290 crit Value from all sources. Well no shit it's better, you literally have more crits here 💀 Would be more practical to compare it to 80/190.
Bruh, this is so misleading. You're just spreading misinformation tbh. Your example of 1:2 crit ratio not being "good enough" is 50:100??? that's just having low stats. 1:2 is not some magical number, it's because of math. Even taking your example if you were doing 1000 dmg normally and you had 50:100, 50% of the time you'll be doing 1000 dmg and 50% of the time 2000 dmg, So 1500 dmg on avg. While if you were to shift it more towards one side let's say 45:110 or 60:80, your avg dmg would be 1495 or 1480. Your avg dmg goes down the more you stray away from the 1:2 ratio. Your personal preference is 60 crit rate and 180+ Crit dmg randomly. Why?? Who knows. Probably because you like big numbers. Like sure you can have preference of crit ratios just for the sake of wanting to see big numbers, heck my preference is having high as hell crit rate just to see consistent numbers but I don't try to sell it to anyone. I am not saying you have to hit 1:2 ratio no matter what because substat RNG is random as well as just looking at only at crit ratios while forgetting other important stats like ATK/HP/DEF, ER, or EM is also bad, But calling this a 'GUIDE' while trying to sell "Set a random ratio in your head and aim towards it", OR "Do whatever you want", and not explaining why the 1:2 ratio thing exists is just being stupid.
Because it is the best substats u can have . But I have to agree that just crit stats is not always optimal for example for yelan u also need a lot of er. But crit stats r generally preferred. Sometimes using better crit stats artifacts can give better results rather than using specific 4 set bonus artifacts .
@oyasimakram6080 I know, also I know that crit is only stat (as much as I know) that don't have diminishing return for stacking it, but you should accept it that lots of ppl obsessed with crit stat. Yes crit is needed for main dps char but we have 4 role in game: damage that includes main dps and sub dps, support that includes healer + shielder and buffer + debuffer. Ppl want build crit on anyone (even when kokomi canes most ppl was upset bcuz she had negative crit rate even she was healer support). Most important stat in game isn't crit it's energy recharge, bcuz only main dps need crit but ER requires for all sub dps, lots of healer and shielder and also lots of dps like raiden and ayaka, and other remaining main dps perfer to have they burst. Bennett is a buffer and healer that buff base on bass atk (char atk+weapon atk) and heals base on hp, but lots of ppl after leveling him to 90 and give him a weapon build crit on him, fir what reason/purpose? You can clear game with having all of your char at average or even lower that average build without any crit as long as stack lots of ER and have some EM. So yeah crit is most overrated stat in genshin (overrated not mean bad it mean something get attention and value more than it deserves) and most important stat in game is ER.
@@kaibacorp13 No one really talks about optimizing supports, and giving them Fav and stacking as much ER and their preferred stat target is already standard practice. And ER% has a larger probability of appearing as a substat than crit, so the majority of the artifact farming experience is just optimizing crit. Satisfying ER% thresholds is much easier to attain. There's also the fact that most main dps as of late doesn't need energy since they can just burst every other rotation (like Wrio, Chasca, Kinich, or Mualani), their burst is a panic heal button (like Hu Tao or Arle), can accommodate a very flexible rotation (Al Haitham, Neuvillette), or simply uses an alternative fuel (Mavuika). The importance of ER% is contextually dependent like anything else. And the fact remains that the majority of the variance in dps is explained by the number of crit rolls you have.
@denki2558 all of this is true, yes in recent 1 or 2 years more dps char came out that have they main dmg base on skill not burst but as wise one once said (myself😁) a average sup with great dps is have less value/weaker than a average dps with great sup. It's dps char who need good sup not other way. Beside nothing you said make my sentence falls, crit is still most overrated stat in game (overrated don't mean have no value or it's bad, it's mean it given more credit/value that it have)
I personally like having at least 60% crit rate too! It gets annoying when the character doesn’t crit 😅
Same! Too bad the only character who has that on my account is Barbara… by accident too! Just gotta keep farming artifacts and I’ll get there!
I prefer at least 80%. And even then I smh manage to miss crits on Mualani for 3 times. 💀
