I actually did not think about this during the time his album came out. But, American music artists really could take a lesson from Stromae in terms of creating dignified art. Some artists are making popular songs in the U.S., but the meaning is very surface level and does not really reach the core of our soul like Stromae's messages. I mean, just take the example of comparing Papaoutai with a song that recently came out called WAP. This demonstrates the difference between him and the other artists.

Music is the universal language and after living many years in USA I would say that is a matter of education and lack of desire for learn about other cultures with admiration and respect.
