This book started out strong, dipped down a bit in the middle, but then the ending is the best I've ever read from King. Overall, I loved it

I am in the opposite camp. I loved the ending! It was so intense!

If you didnt get the point of the end of this book, you will hate the end of The Long Walk pmsl.
I quite liked this one, but its not his best stuff for sure. - Nice review.

I read this one a couple of years ago and enjoyed it! The movie is so cheesy 😅 it's great!
Have you read Gerald's Game? Or seen the movie on Netflix?

Not yet! I haven’t seen the movie for this one either.
I always try to read the books before the movies.

Great review and discussion, as usual. I think it was very clever of Richard Bachman to convince everyone he was Stephen King. I'm sure it helped his book sales a lot. LOL. Just kidding. I would assume Stephen King didn't want to associate these books with himself. I don't know. I have a Richard Bachman book on my shelf and I should read it at some point.

    Should have done...Book V.S. movie for this.😁
I believe it was popular enough that a lot of stuff has been borrowed from this story. Maybe the Hunger Games, or the story you were talking about🤷‍♂️???
    2stars ...what??? Each 2 their own.👍
I don't understand what made you hate it???🤷‍♂️ Just curious.
I thought it was pretty good. Not his best, but better than some he's put out.
    Great Review, and Video 👍😁👍

Yeah The Hunger Games has many similarities with this one.

I hated the ending because his wife and daughter died. So it was like wtf. We watch him go through all this to save his daughter only to find out his family died while this was all going on and then he basically commits suicide after finding out. It just made the whole story pointless.

@@Booksinthedark LoL. I see Your point of view, but that's Why he did what he did at the End.
I believe that's why I enjoyed it better than the Movie, because it was more real. Sometimes things in life are just like that. Do something for good for instance, and it turns out bad. Happens all the time, and I'm sure people say what's the point. LoL.
Anyway. You did a great job on the review, and Video 👍😁👍

"Thinner" is similar to many other King's books. They have the same structure, predictable. Don't get me wrong, that's the author I've read the most. "The Running Man" doesn't sound that familiar. I love the dystopian scenery, the anger, the hatred for that society. It's pointless on purpose, no redeemer in the end, no hope.
King has said his favorite story is "Survivor Type", a guy stranded on a tiny island who takes heroin until... no. There's no rescue.

It was really just the end. The ending can totally kill an entire book for me.
