I got to see him once when he got back together with the Crowes. Rainy night at the amphitheater in Tampa. and weather kept many folks away, but wow!!! The Jumbotron guy kept the camera on Marc's fingers about half of the night. LOL
I saw the Black Crowes every single tour. the difference between the first and 2nd tour(where marc and Eddie Hirsch joined) were night and day. one of the many reasons I won't see the brother's sell out tour this summer. I've also seen Marc play with Blue Floyd, Ben Harper, and Magpie Salute. if he is onstage you are guaranteed an unbelievable show because he brings it every time in every situation. Thanks Marc!!
Looking back on it, a big reason why I took the Crowes seriously when I was a teenager was because of what Eddie and Marc brought to the original sound. Went from good to legendary overnight.
First time i heard Marc was on Izzy Stradlins 'Somebodys knocking' from his 1st solo album. Didnt know it was him but i LOVED his playing. SHMC was everything i wanted to hear from a guitar player and hadnt until he came on the scene. A truly gifted musician. A fan ever since.
ever since southern harmony, this man has been my favorite guitarist... cool to see the d'addario strobe tuner on his board, i found one a year ago and its killer...great minds think alike?
Had the opportunity to hang out with Marc years ago (after the crows)at a friend's music festival. His guitar/amp sound was amazing! I kept close by during his sets to see how he got his sound and even asked him, his reply was it's all in the fingers. Haha well I obviously knew that it's a bit more(great vibrato)a VERY underrated guitarist and humble human being.
I caught Marc at the Fox Theater last Saturday , he opened for the Allman Betts Band and man can the man play! Met him at the Merch bench and he is down to earth cool...
I've added Marc Ford to my list of the very best. Angus and Malcom, Mick Taylor, Keith Richards, Peter Frampton, Hendrix, David Gilmour are a few others.
greetings from the great state of Texas and so is Rory Gallagher from Ireland and he's a legend he's passed on in 1995 also you could look him up on UA-cam it was from Ireland use these are rock Legends guitarist singer unbelievable performer he was you can see like I said many UA-cam videos about Rory Gallagher so was Steve Clark of Def Leppard he was a legend guitarist and also Rich Robinson of course of The Black Crowes they're both underestimated hope they're touring sometime would like to find out where they're going to be touring this year God bless you and yours anybody knows please let me
Great Guitarist, seen 2 times in Milan with the Great Black Crowes!! Fantastic Concerts!! Him and Rick Robinson, it was the match like Taylor and Richards!!
Other than maybe Jerry/Bob or the Young Bros, there’s not a guitar duo on this planet I’d rather hear live than Marc Ford and Rich Robinson. Back in the mid-90’s they were unreal on a stage together. Good times.
Cheers for turning me on to Asher guitars, awesome craftsmanship, awesome sounding, awesome company looking for that elusive one and done guitar, think one of there’s could certainly do it.
I think I used to play the Hollywood circuit with Marc before Crowes ...I think his band was burning tree....Yep I got him on my fridgerator doing benefit for homeless with my band City Hall Los ANgeles Ted Hayes sposered
I know he replaced Jeff Cease in the Black Crowes and played on the "The Southern Musical Companion" I saw him perform with on SNL as well. I love both of those albums and the Jimmy Page/Black Crowes Live @ the Greek. Back in 2003, i was working for the Corporate office of Penny Save over in the Palms area of LA. Btw, i used to attend Palms Middle School 40 years ago. Around this time Marc, was solo and he was playing @ a club in the Palms area on Motor Ave. Back then he used a Marshall Plexi 1/2 stack and a Fender Twin Reverb in his setup I never saw the show near my job but, his website showed where he would be performing at.
Dug him since Burning Tree, one of best guitar players ... ever . " real men play strat's " - Mark Ford in 1989 somewhere in Bakersfield. ( Im still using that Les Paul by the way ! ) I purchased my first Strat shortly after
I been missing out. As an English teenager in the 90s I wasn't really into many American bands. But the last ten years I've been hooked on these guys Alice in chains Johnny thunders heartbreakers. The posies to name a few.
Wish he was like this when I met him. Met him quite a few times. Seen him play tons of times. Ran into him backstage at a mule concert once. That story/night was awesome and pure luck btw. Amazing guitar player but dude was a mess. Pretty much a dk. The best playing I saw hands down was when he played the king king in hollywood early to mid 2000's? It was about a week after I met him backstage at the mule concert. He told me to go see him. Well I did. 2 nights in a row and he blew me away. He shredded and I mean shredded on a tele. He played others but that tele was insane. Talked to him a bit at the malibu inn and he was such a smartass I left before his last set. Regardless MF defined the BC for me. The dude can play anything but his groove is just awesome when he is locked in it. Glad to see one of my guitar heros has a smile on his face. Again wish I had met him like this. Still one of my all time fav guitarists.
He was a dick when I met him too. Not surprising though if he's hangin with Rich who is an even bigger dick. These guys are great players but why do they have to be arrogant? Why be an asshole or smartass? If it wasn't for fans they wouldn't be shit.
@@HiHello-ku1fl Well hopefully he's got it together now. I've never met Rich. I take it he's like Chris lol. Chris' shelf life on an interview is like 1 minute then I'm out.
4:47- Guitar players are hilarious. "the louder it gets, it just starts doing this" But I think I get it. That ust be GSL (guitar sign language) for compression. What a cool dude, and amazing player.
I've seen Marc with the Black Crowes and it just isn't the same band when he's not there. Also I saw Magpie Salute twice which were incredible shows. I hate the way Rich pulled the plug on Magpie to go reform the Crowes. I thought Magpie was the best new band around.
Came here to refresh my memory as to the name of that beastly valve satellite eradicator pedal, that’s a serious machine 60db of gain boost! 🤯 Do I need another tube drive? No do I want it? Yes meanwhile my amp is begging for mercy 😂
Greetings y'all back in the days and he was in The Black Crowes him and Rich and Chris they had plenty of groupies they were on marijuana what kinds of drugs and drank women would fight like cats and dogs and do literally almost anything to get backstage to mark and Rich Linda and Chris as well and the others and to Johnny Colton and the keyboardist as well who was very talented man God bless him and women with fight like go crazy and it do anything to get backstage to Mark and not just to talk to him if you catch my drift
Most underrated guitarist on the planet
I got to see him once when he got back together with the Crowes. Rainy night at the amphitheater in Tampa. and weather kept many folks away, but wow!!! The Jumbotron guy kept the camera on Marc's fingers about half of the night. LOL
NIHILISTLIVESMATTER he and Cantrell both of them

Hear you brother. Lucky enough to have seen him solo a few times.
Its NOT the Black Crowes without MFF. F The Robin$on Bros.
Looking back on it, a big reason why I took the Crowes seriously when I was a teenager was because of what Eddie and Marc brought to the original sound. Went from good to legendary overnight.
@@afmartin2734 Eddie & Marc were the special sauce 👍
Marc is a tremendous player, I've seen him many times. I'm glad he cleaned up, I saw him with Blue Floyd in 01 and he was a mess.
Marc joining the Black Crowes was like Gilmour joining Pink Floyd.
what a tone man! fat but bright, not too fuzzy but not to clean. Very underrated guitarrist...
Hands down the most versatile guitarist playing today. Marc Ford is simply the best.
The best thing that happened to the Black Crowes. Fabulous guitar player and you can always notice when he's not there.
Guy was 50% of their sound back in the tall days. Irreplaceable.
First time i heard Marc was on Izzy Stradlins 'Somebodys knocking' from his 1st solo album. Didnt know it was him but i LOVED his playing.

Seen him live with the Black Crowes loads of times,Marc with Rich is the best fucking gig in town.☮️♊️🕉☪️
Great to see Marc looking and sounding so healthy.
What a calm gentleman
The guitarist of the planet....
Straight from the heart
Man I love that guys playing. I’d put him up against any one out there. He probably wouldn’t like me to say that. He seems humble.

Interesting gear, amazing tone, tasteful playing...what I like most is Marc looking really happy.
Marc Ford is the MAN!
I caught Marc at the Fox Theater last Saturday , he opened for the Allman Betts Band and man can the man play! Met him at the Merch bench and he is down to earth cool...

Marc and Rich, Duane and Dickey, I could go on forever
Rich knows how good they were too.
The Robinsons sold out to corporate $
My biggest inspiration. Marc Fn' Ford :) Humble gentleman, bad-ass player.
Cheers for turning me on to Asher guitars, awesome craftsmanship, awesome sounding, awesome company looking for that elusive one and done guitar, think one of there’s could certainly do it.
Craig Ross and Marc Ford should do an Album together!!!!!..... that would be "EPIC"!!!
absolutely. two guys that made their bands better by joining.
Sweet Pickle Salad is recordings of them togheter with Chris Robinson, it’s epic!
Seems like such a mellow guy...and what a player. Respect.
Wow, very heartfelt playing even just noodling. Really feeling it. Cool interview.
Great video. Good to hear more about Marc's pedal board. Love the Eradicator.
60 dB of gain? That's gonna zap some transistor inputs. That amplifies 1 microwatt up to 1 watt!
This is a pretty amazing video... the gear is just top-notch and his presentation is super professional. That vibrato is sick.
Wish I could hear him speak about tone and music forever.
I love this guy and the crowes
X2 - That amp is a Satellite Cuda, not a Niveus. Price is around $2500, not $5800
Man he has tones that kill.
2:04 confirmed what I've always known: I need a SunLion.
I'll die with mine ;)
He's the reason I bought one.
I got mine right before they discontinued them the 1st time.
Love It!
Simply... Bad. Ass. Thanks for the inspiration Marc.

Good to see he's off the smack
love his down bends on the G

Right on Marc!
DUDE !!!!! WERE IN JAPAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reference to the Steve Gorman book?
I will never play guitar again... Them tones, man!

marcs the best
What was the Home Brew Electronics pedal he had? The green one in the bottom left corner of his board.
Never mind, looks like a loop switcher.

Amazing fucking tone
I got my first real guitar in 1994. I learned to play from listening to the Beatles, Clapton, and Marc Ford.
Wow .... 💗💗 amazing ..
Where does he put that Eradicator in the signal chain?
Can someone tell me what's the name of the song he plays at 3:00?
Marc Ford ASMR
Marc Ford: the Matthew McConaughey of Rock music!
Genio
Does anyone know definitively what pickups those are? They sound absolutely amazing.
That is some pretty nice (and very pricey) gear that he's playing with
Marcs a good egg
How in the ACTUAL FUCK did Chris and Rich not invite Marc back? Without his signature sound, the recent Crowes tour was meh
Very sad that he is not a part of the Black Crowes new tour. SHAME
It's like shoes... Well Said!
I could get along with this guy ...
Steve Anger him and me could go to rehab together!
Does anybody knows the pick he used. Looks like steel pick..🤷🏻♂️
Looks like a confetti celluloid pick to me. I think Marc has always used Medium gauges.
Life lessons
Practicing 50 somethin Guitarist don't play as well as Marc, although talks like he's in my head.
Marc looks like he needs a sandwich.

Lol at least in this band rhythm is more appreciated 😂👍🏻

Were you "on marijuana" when you wrote this?
@@aliceborealis 🤣🤣🤣
chewing gum *bad for camera work* OMG
cant do it.its not worth the noise.
I can't not hear it.
Ah, major pet peeve when people confuse tremolo and vibrato...tremolo is not vibrato! Lol
Crowes are back...''watcha think about that''
Not the same.
@The Mystic Ruler I've been watching clips and it's I'm sorry to say not looking so good.
@The Mystic Ruler I'm talking about the new clips. Marc Ford is amazing. I knew him even before he joined the crows,
@The Mystic Ruler I noticed. Have you seen this?: ua-cam.com/video/XZ4qIvt1VZc/v-deo.html
No they're not...if you are a fly by night fan you think so.
No Ford=No Crowes.
Great guitarist, but who thinks,
"Yeah I'm about to be interviewed on camera, let me pop a piece of gum in my mouth first."
Damn son this guy's gear is expensive lol
great player, but whoever filmed this needs to tell people not to chew gum in an interview
