I love how this was done. The simple yet so very heartfelt and so natural, and having Little Jack. The path and road they walked many times and the road where he and she had said words like vows "if we should marry". The road she ran after him when she thought he left in season 8 finale. I love how he again says "you are all that matters" just like he said it on the bridge last season finale. All roads lead back to them. They always comes back to each other (each season they have)!! Officially Engaged to be married and to be a family!! 💕
Clearly, there was so much heart put into this scene, on & off camera. Nothing flashy or grandiose.. it was an intimate, heartwarming, private moment with the focus on Lucas, Elizabeth, and Little Jack. I love that Little Jack had a part & gave his buddy an assist with the proposal. I love that Lucas asked “Allow me to be a father to your son & agree to be my wife”. Elizabeth & Jack are all that’s important to him. ❤️ That’s the overall sense that I got from the moment Lucas took the ring in his hands.. the daylight, the music, the expressions on their faces - after everything they’d been through… at this point in their relationship, it was clear, very clear to both of them that this was it - they were it. The writers wrote a beautiful proposal and boy did Chris deliver it. Of course, Erin was brilliant, as always. They’re both fantastic actors and I’m so happy they gave us this beautiful performance. We #Hearties are extremely lucky to have Chris & Erin as our Lucas & Elizabeth. I really hope we get many more seasons to continue this epic love story ❤️

Did you think a school teacher riding double on a horse with her boyfriend, Jack (leaning into him and holding tight) in the middle of town square was family friendly and wholesome? Was it proper for a school teacher to have her boyfriend, Jack in her house every night? And yes, she and Jack kissed in public. Or was it proper for N to come for a parent/teacher conference late at night In Elizabeth's house? Honestly, this show has never been without its questionable moments, but it is wholesome and family friendly. They made perfectly sure in all these instances that we knew shall I say "nothing happened". Lucas was protecting Elizabeth and LJ and also laying a trap for Walden Wyman. The show is still a good wholesome show.

WCTH your writers are so good, thank you for this beautiful love story. I'm up their in years but this is the best love story in my lifetime. And people that have to say bad things...just don't watch or commit please...you don't like it because it didn't go your way but for alot of us it makes our heart happy and smiles on our faces.
My other favourite scene with Lucas and Elizabeth is the soulmate connection of how she knew what was in the letter and the heart of the man she loves and know and complete trust and faith in their love, and the words she says to him - "To me, you aren't what you do, nor are you the sum of your possessions. Even if you'd come back and all of this had been gone, burnt in the fire, there would still be love." - Elizabeth "Making me the richest man alive." - Lucas 💗
I agree I hope we get a wedding in season 10 Elizabeth deserves happiness after losing Jack. Lucas and Elizabeth are my favorite. I think he will make a wonderful father to little Jack and hopefully a child of their own one day.

Such a sweet scene with 3 of them. It just warms your heart every time you watch it. One of the most beautiful TV proposals. The writers did it just perfect paying attention to all the details. Erin and Chris put all their heart and soul into this scene and their acting in general. It was so genuine and natural. And our little buddy, he brought so much joy to this show. The final seconds of this scene are just heartwarming, 3 of them walking towards their future as a family. The road is just breathtaking, so colourful and beautiful. I'm so grateful for this season, it really is one of the best. I'm hoping to see many more.

Tbh what I liked most about the finale was how - in hindsight - the title gave it all away, the rock, the bye, the baby…. LOL. The proposal was simple, yet thoughtful and heartfelt. Thanks to all parties involved for creating this beautiful scene, it was such a joy to watch it.
I wrote this same paragraph it in Lucas and Elizabeth's season 8 bridge reunion kiss video and here is is again: I also remember the Dangerous Liasion book quote Lucas said to Elizabeth in their library in season 6. it so fits him and them. He said half of it but here is the full bit of it. “Now, I'm not going to deny that I was aware of your beauty. But the point is, this has nothing to do with your beauty. As I got to know you, I began to realise that beauty was the least of your qualities. I became fascinated by your goodness. I was drawn in by it. I didn't understand what was happening to me. And it was only when I began to feel actual, physical pain every time you left the room that it finally dawned on me: I was in love, for the first time in my life. I knew it was hopeless, but that didn't matter to me. And it's not that I want to have you. All I want is to deserve you." 💕
I thought it was sweet how Lucas included Little Jack in the proposal. I was a Team Nathan fan at the end of season 8, but Lucas and Elizabeth as a couple have really grown on me this season. I can honestly say I’m happy for them. ❤️❤️
I was always! Team Lucas and Elizabeth.! I liked Nathan but! felt something special between Elizabeth and Lucas; I was surprised! when a week ago they talked about the end of the season. Elizabeth shouldn't have chosen Nathan just to make a blended family and be a mother to Allie. There was no romantic love there ever. She made awkward excuses to not go on dates with Nathan and never showed any romantic feelings. Nathan would always have been living in Jack's shadow. Not fair to him.
The proposal was beautiful, precious, and everything good in between ❤️, and the catch and small tremble in L’s voice when he asked to be the father to her son … 🥹❤️🫠. The writing of that scene was so very good & Chris played the momentous nervousness of the it to perfection. All three of them were heart-meltingly adorable. Love them as actors & love their characters. So thankful for them & WCTH.😊
A great Finale for Season 9. A PERFECT & BEAUTIFUL proposal for Lucas & Elizabeth. The GIDDYNESS of Lee when Rosemary told him they're having a baby... STUPENDOUS!! The HEARTFELT way Bill discussed his will with Elizabeth & the SWEET kiss on Little Jack as Bill was leaving. AND Gowen, his demeanor when he was talking to Elizabeth about 'his burden being lifted'....his tone of voice when asking Joseph to teach him to pray! Nathan's comidic & playful side as he adjusts to moving on... accepting Elizabeth & Lucas as a couple, yet putting himself open for a new relationship, possibly with Mei. Maybe all storylines we're not resolved, but that's good so there's more to look forward to for a Season 10. After Florence apologized to Gowen, I'm thinking the GREAT town of HV will stand behind him if he goes to trial because he was trying to protect the town. There's people that didn't care for the PDA, kissing, between Lucas & Elizabeth, but I personally didn't think it was too much. They are sooo much in LOVE, but in the last 2 episodes they both seemed to be a little nervous about what steps to take next. IMO, the whole Season was done in good taste. Still focused on what Jeannette Okes was wanting: COMMUNITY, COMPASSION, HONESTLY, LOVE, FAITH, FORGIVENESS, etc. Fantastic job WCTH. Please Hallmark, please announce for a Season 10. Thank you.
I totally agree! This was an exceptionally wonderful episode! It had humor with Lee running around in his pjs telling his exciting news! It had moments of tenderness, redemption, hope, joy, and, most of all, love!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm very glad they didn't go the candles way (though I love all of E & L's candles scenes) cos that would have meant competing and comparing with Jack & Elizabeth's made-for-tv iconic proposal. Though understated this one is more earnest. It is simple yet clever and memorable and like a lot of Lucabeth scenes manages to tie in passion and tenderness at the same time ! It's one thing for a series to create an iconic proposal. But to create two such memorable proposals for the same character is uncommon. The writers deserve all the praise.
This was a wonderful finale. The negative comments are just due to one issue and we all know what that is. Based on these few negative comments, I’ve come to the conclusion that most of the commenters are watching at least some, if not all of the episodes. It is a good show with all the core characters demonstrating strong principles and good values. They’re not always perfect but I don’t want them to be. As far as the kissing scenes, I love them! It’s just part of the journey that most people take when falling in love. It feels natural and it was fun to watch. Hoping for an announcement soon that the series will be renewed for a season 10. Fingers crossed.
I agree. It’s amazing that people who overlook & forgive human imperfections in real life are so unwilling to do the same with fictional characters & the human beings behind the scenes at WCTH. The ones spouting condemnations reserve them for only a couple of the fictional characters tht they dislike & refuse to see, or fail to recognize any flaws in their own favorite characters. To be honest, it seems that most of the core characters in HV usually recognize when they are wrong & have the good grace to finally admit it, try to do better & want to do the best for one another. That isn’t a bad lesson from the lives of fictional characters. It’s one that would benefit all of us, including the ones who apparently only follow WCTH to continue to bitterly condemn it & try to harm the real human beings who are a part of it, without a concern that it would also harm the characters they claim to love. Nonsensical.
I totally agree and I loved the kissing. They were both so obviously in love and the relationship grew so deeply and realistically all season long. The storyline kept pushing them in this direction and it was beautiful to see them both so dedicated to eachother even in the hard times. In season 8 we saw Lucas be supportive emotionally when Elizabeth heard Nathans secret. And in the end she tells Rosemary “He just knows me so well.” this season she thanked him for his support and in turn was able to she her unwavering support of him when his life was up ended. In that scene after the fire she was able to show how well she knows him now. Just amazing writing and beautiful scenes…each one

This was absolutely beautiful. Their chemistry is undeniable. I loved every second of the season. I pray we get season 10. It is sad that people would say such hateful things about this show. This is a good show that sends a good message out to this cruel world. Why would anyone not want this show to continue? It’s the one decent show out there I can watch and I don’t have to worry that there’s going to be cursing and sex and murder. I wish people would stop trying to get this show off the air because they didn’t like Elizabeth’s choice. This show sends a message of Gods love. Why is that not acceptable? Why are people so hateful?
My thoughts exactly. It is so sad when people say terrible things about the actors & writers because the story didn't go the way they wanted. I guess they think the world has to answer to them.
2.5 million people tuned in to watch the finale live so the haters did not win! And it’s crazy that they are still bitter after a whole year. This show is so beautiful but it is just a show and people who are still upset should just go elsewhere

It was a perfect proposal. I’m think most of us expected sinething maybe at the bridge or the library but Lucas decided to do it dufferent. He did think long abd hard abiut ut abd he wished with littke jack…included him showing he cares abiut the boy abd Elizabeth ciujd see he included him. Think it went off without a hitch. I can’t say enough good things about season 9 & episode 12 certainly did not disappoint! So thankful for the Canfield family & everything they contribute to HV. I love Viv & Natasha & the serious approach they take to the religious aspects of Joseph & Minnie and their respect toward God. The real world certainly needs more of that! I loved the scene with Bill, E & LJ. 😭 I loved the scene between Florence & Henry at the jail. More tears! But, speaking of Henry & love & tears! Martin Cummins has been absolutely incredible all season & the scenes at the jail topped them all! If I had the power to award an Emmy to him, he would have several. Everyone involved in the production of WCTH deserves one! Martin’s portrayal of Henry’s desire for redemption was so powerful that I could see & feel his every emotion & I cried - no, I sobbed. That & the scene with Joseph giving Henry the Bible & them kneeling together in sincere, repentant prayer was wonderful. What a healing change there would be if that scene could be re-enacted all across our nation in real life!

I just finished watching the series from season 1 to this last one, season 9, and what a beautiful series, I love it! Mind you, very sad about Jack's death (I'm getting over it), but the romance between Elizabeth and Lucas is phenomenal!

I was always! Team Lucas and Elizabeth.! I liked Nathan but! felt something special between Elizabeth and Lucas; I was surprised! when a week ago they talked about the end of the season. Elizabeth shouldn't have chosen Nathan just to make a blended family and be a mother to Allie. There was no romantic love there ever. She made awkward excuses to not go on dates with Nathan and never showed any romantic feelings. Nathan would always have been living in Jack's shadow. Not fair to him.
The proposal was beautiful, precious, and everything good in between ❤️, and the catch and small tremble in L’s voice when he asked to be the father to her son … 🥹❤️🫠.
The writing of that scene was so very good & Chris played the momentous nervousness of the it to perfection. All three of them were heart-meltingly adorable. Love them as actors & love their characters. So thankful for them & WCTH.😊
A great Finale for Season 9. A PERFECT & BEAUTIFUL proposal for Lucas & Elizabeth. The GIDDYNESS of Lee when Rosemary told him they're having a baby... STUPENDOUS!! The HEARTFELT way Bill discussed his will with Elizabeth & the SWEET kiss on Little Jack as Bill was leaving. AND Gowen, his demeanor when he was talking to Elizabeth about 'his burden being lifted'....his tone of voice when asking Joseph to teach him to pray! Nathan's comidic & playful side as he adjusts to moving on... accepting Elizabeth & Lucas as a couple, yet putting himself open for a new relationship, possibly with Mei. Maybe all storylines we're not resolved, but that's good so there's more to look forward to for a Season 10. After Florence apologized to Gowen, I'm thinking the GREAT town of HV will stand behind him if he goes to trial because he was trying to protect the town. There's people that didn't care for the PDA, kissing, between Lucas & Elizabeth, but I personally didn't think it was too much. They are sooo much in LOVE, but in the last 2 episodes they both seemed to be a little nervous about what steps to take next. IMO, the whole Season was done in good taste. Still focused on what Jeannette Okes was wanting: COMMUNITY, COMPASSION, HONESTLY, LOVE, FAITH, FORGIVENESS, etc. Fantastic job WCTH. Please Hallmark, please announce for a Season 10. Thank you.
I totally agree! This was an exceptionally wonderful episode! It had humor with Lee running around in his pjs telling his exciting news! It had moments of tenderness, redemption, hope, joy, and, most of all, love!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm very glad they didn't go the candles way (though I love all of E & L's candles scenes) cos that would have meant competing and comparing with Jack & Elizabeth's made-for-tv iconic proposal. Though understated this one is more earnest. It is simple yet clever and memorable and like a lot of Lucabeth scenes manages to tie in passion and tenderness at the same time ! It's one thing for a series to create an iconic proposal. But to create two such memorable proposals for the same character is uncommon. The writers deserve all the praise.

This was a wonderful finale. The negative comments are just due to one issue and we all know what that is. Based on these few negative comments, I’ve come to the conclusion that most of the commenters are watching at least some, if not all of the episodes. It is a good show with all the core characters demonstrating strong principles and good values. They’re not always perfect but I don’t want them to be. As far as the kissing scenes, I love them! It’s just part of the journey that most people take when falling in love. It feels natural and it was fun to watch. Hoping for an announcement soon that the series will be renewed for a season 10. Fingers crossed.
I agree. It’s amazing that people who overlook & forgive human imperfections in real life are so unwilling to do the same with fictional characters & the human beings behind the scenes at WCTH.
The ones spouting condemnations reserve them for only a couple of the fictional characters tht they dislike & refuse to see, or fail to recognize any flaws in their own favorite characters. To be honest, it seems that most of the core characters in HV usually recognize when they are wrong & have the good grace to finally admit it, try to do better & want to do the best for one another. That isn’t a bad lesson from the lives of fictional characters. It’s one that would benefit all of us, including the ones who apparently only follow WCTH to continue to bitterly condemn it & try to harm the real human beings who are a part of it, without a concern that it would also harm the characters they claim to love. Nonsensical.
I totally agree and I loved the kissing. They were both so obviously in love and the relationship grew so deeply and realistically all season long. The storyline kept pushing them in this direction and it was beautiful to see them both so dedicated to eachother even in the hard times. In season 8 we saw Lucas be supportive emotionally when Elizabeth heard Nathans secret. And in the end she tells Rosemary “He just knows me so well.” this season she thanked him for his support and in turn was able to she her unwavering support of him when his life was up ended. In that scene after the fire she was able to show how well she knows him now. Just amazing writing and beautiful scenes…each one

This was absolutely beautiful. Their chemistry is undeniable. I loved every second of the season. I pray we get season 10. It is sad that people would say such hateful things about this show. This is a good show that sends a good message out to this cruel world. Why would anyone not want this show to continue? It’s the one decent show out there I can watch and I don’t have to worry that there’s going to be cursing and sex and murder. I wish people would stop trying to get this show off the air because they didn’t like Elizabeth’s choice. This show sends a message of Gods love. Why is that not acceptable? Why are people so hateful?

It was a perfect proposal. I’m think most of us expected sinething maybe at the bridge or the library but Lucas decided to do it dufferent. He did think long abd hard abiut ut abd he wished with littke jack…included him showing he cares abiut the boy abd Elizabeth ciujd see he included him. Think it went off without a hitch. Martin’s portrayal of Henry’s desire for redemption was so powerful that I could see & feel his every emotion & I cried - no, I sobbed. That & the scene with Joseph giving Henry the Bible & them kneeling together in sincere, repentant prayer was wonderful.
What a healing change there would be if that scene could be re-enacted all across our nation in real life!
