The thumbnail of this vlog is so good. Train passing through the mist is so nice. Train journey to Ella is one of the best journeys you get in Sri Lanka. I have taken this route from Colombo few times over the years & however much I go on this train route I don't get fed up with it. You correctly said that you don't feel the journey even though it took more than 7 hours. I remember once soon as I finished university in 2011 I took the train from Colombo to Ella & due to a cancellation of the earlier train it was all jam packed. I had to stand right along up to about Nanuoya as there were no vacant seats but I still didn't get tired or exhausted due to breathtaking views & climatic changes through out the journey. Those days there were few trains & some of them were old trains with less comforts. This vlog of yours brought memories of my train rides from Colombo to the Upcountry. Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Openable windows and doors are really good for me though they are risky. You can have the best scene. I used to sit at the door when the train passes through green landscapes around Nazareth to Dukem in Ethiopia. Can't forget that. The new electric train is a closed door and windows vehicle though.

When did you book your reserved seats to second class? I would like to reserve two tickets online for the second class in advance, but the tickets are sold out a month ahead. I monitor every new day when the company releases tickets for sale, but they are always sold out immediately or only a few tickets are available for the first class. Do you have same tip, please?
Hey, we booked them like 2 or 3 weeks before, so we were quite late. We had to book through an online ticket vendor, you can find the link in the description. You could also have a look at 12go. Unfortunately those vendors buy the tickets from the train company and sell them for much a higher price. That’s why they are always immediately sold out. But the ride still was worth the extra money! Let us know if it worked!
