Michael Kobrin oh lord, never expected I’d get a reply from you! Thank you! I always wanted to learn to play acoustic guitar. When I was 24 I had lessons set up, my 1st daughter only 4 months old, I suddenly became deathly ill, Doctors didn’t know what it was, 106 degree fever, white blood count bottomed out, & told I was going to die. Well, 10 Days ICU I survived, but lessons cancelled, never set up again. You’re so very talented! Great looking as well! Too bad I’m not your guitar! Lol!

Good choice letting go of some of the compression in favour of some overtone and hum, gives the sound a way more "alife" feeling ;)
Imho always the better compromise to accept some of the slidy "noises" and have the guitar "breathe" ,than clamping the whole signal to one block and eleminating 15% of a guitars spectrum.

I believe his, and musical ability is equal or better than any I have heard. He exploits a style of playing that was made famous by Don Ross, Andy McKee, and others. However, this original work is truly a luxurious experience as the monaural environment he has created stimulates ecstatic feelings, and emotional highs. A true virtuoso.

Initially I was bummed, thinking this might be a Pearl Jam cover, but after hearing him play it.... wait for it..... simply doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this!
Why did they remaster it? It was already perfect.
I think that Michael wasn't happy with the first mastering of it. I think he wanted a remastering that was a little truer to the sound that he was seeking for the song. Personally, I like the sound of the remaster a little bit better just because the guitar sounds a little more "guitar-like," but they kept the video with the original mastering up too. I agree though. This song is perfect (and I rarely use that word to describe anything).

Michael Kobrin yeah I got them straight from candyrat.com they don't come with percussion markings for the body but they do for the slap on the strings.

Rearrange the song so that the tapping-pull off into starts @ 1:37.....then bring the slow part in, and finish as you normally would.

Audio Mastering is typically the final process for professional audio. It is where compression and final EQ is applied and the overall sound and balance is fine tuned. Re-mastered typically means the artist was not happy with the first mastering job and like the remastered version better.
