Drummer fucking crushed it. Nailed down all the important fills without sacrificing the toned down feel of this rendition. Really brought it all together- they stayed faithful to the original yet still made it their own. Very solid homage right here!
What people need to realise about a cover. The point is not to try and sound EXACTLY like the original artist. It is to put your own interpretation of the song out in tribute to the original artist.
Curtis Hunt i disagree! this is not a cover in order to be on an album, where it should be as you said above, this is just an acoustic show, so they just cover the song as a tribute or something and i really think they did a great job here!
Curtis Hunt completely agree. Being a huge and I mean HUGE deftones fan, and also being a seether fan, I was blown away by this cover. I think it might be my favorite cover of all time
I agree and disagree. Agree because you should always put your own spin and feel on the song, however(this is where I disagree), some people take the song so far away from the original that it is not even the same song anymore. With that said, I love this cover. I never heard it before. I listen to way more death and black metal. But this is amazing. And I love both seether and deftones
Ikr? Deftones is fucking amazing, but I also like Seether. And judging this objectively, I think its a pretty good cover. Obviously it doesnt have anything on the original but still
Disclaimer Morgan i've been listening to seether a lot longer than i've been listening to deftones, but c'mon man.. you might like shaun's voice better, but chino is definitely a more capable singer
i love shaun's voice man, but even in that song, he's not going for any big notes or anything (not that the song calls for it). whose voice you like more in terms of sound is purely subjective, i'm just saying that chino's range is incredible
Just to think a week ago I didn’t know these guys even existed now Shaun is on my list of favorite singers along with Layne Staley, Chris Cornell or Mark Lanegan
Truely amazing...Possibly the best acoustic cover I've ever heard hands down..The Bassist and the Drummer are pure Fire The talent here is insane...Way to go fellas
I hated this cover for like 10 mins, simply because this is one of my favorite songs. but I found myself listening to it more and more, and now it's one of my favorite covers.
Sage Monteaux Serious respect to you for listening to it even after you thought you didn't care for it. I know I'm the same way sometimes. Just takes a bit to realize the potential I guess.

Wow, I always knew Shaun was one talented man but this is transcendent. Usually a guy with a rugged voice covers songs by bands like Godsmack, Alice In Chains etc, covering anything Chino Moreno is a risky endeavor.
I'm really impressed. Never heard them before. This is one of my favorite songs from one of my all time favorite bands. Gave me a chill on the first time through...for sure.
Didn't know this song, went back hearing the original. Their cover is very special to me. I've listened to this 9 straight times or so. Shaun delivers so much emotion, melody is enthralling, the drums has power and finesse. "Blow me away" touches with the nuances!
This used to be a song my band would cover every gig. I sang and played rhythm guitar too. God I miss those days. I smoked a lot of pot. Dad was still around. I used to drive an old beat up van. Man those were the days. Seether put there on spin on this song. I putting much sounded just like Def Tones with maybe a touch from Chad Gray from Hellyeah/Mudvayne.
Erika Thomas I listen to some seether songs and I'm amazed.. recently not so much considering he pretty much exactly copied a song that's 20 years old called mad world but ya wtf this is like flawless and it's live.. I don't get them sometimes lol
these are my two favorite bands, saw them both play great shows here in NYC and the fact that seether covered deftones is blowing my mind away right now
Deftones are my favorite.. And even though Seether aren't, I still love them. And this is just purely amazing. :) Maybe Chino and Shaun should do a collab ;)
Okay I was skeptical when I clicked on this because I love Deftones, but this is pretty damn good for a cover. Noone (at least that I've heard of or am aware of) would touch Deftones like this. Chino has such an amazing voice but I think Seether did as good as you can get for this.
Dude got some pipes .... his voice is a real rock instrument. I'm looking for this video of him playing live when I 1st heard that growl but came upon this.
I've always loved Deftones (mostly their acoustic stuff) and this is amazing. Hate I never saw it before. It's hard to match their vocals sometimes and wow he did amazing with putting his own personality on it!
The beautiful thing about this cover is that this sounds like a Seether song. Kept their original flavor without sacrificing commitment to and respect for the original material and artists.
Beautiful cover ! Reminds me of the old seether . I don't what happened to them , they were so promising back in the day but the last few albums don't have a lasting effect . Maybe that's just me but i miss old seether (esp around disclaimer 2 time)
This is the best cover of Change I've ever heard of. It's very raw from the acoustic set-up and it all tied together by the natural, sludgy but sweet voice of Seether's vocalist. It's almost like it is their own song.
See the last time I saw a sirius xm cover, it was puddle of mudd covering a nirvana song and I didn't like it at all. This cover though, it's really damn good!! Seether killed it

Ahhhhhhhh.... the cover is excellent but the drummer just took the cake and ate it too, especially on that last minute of the song. He hits every single note the way it is on the original track. Much respect! 😈🤘🏽

Josh the Mover Its hard to keep it quiet eh? I was impressed by the drummer too
Yep Johnny Humphrey is a great drummer he's underrated why is he not one of the popular drummers
I loved the drums here
I like when it’s just the kick, snare, and hat’s.
That’s all you need to get the groove going, and my guy does just that. 🥁
Absolutely amazing! Nailed it HARD
The tortured and broken, yet still melodic quality of his voice through the choruses is amazing.
Well said! I love Shaun so much.
Absolutely. Very well said.
Gonna be honest, not a big fan of their music. But his ability to apply vocal fry so easily is pretty impressive.
Shauns voice is phenomenal and he’s been doing it for 20 years or more now he’s under appreciated I think personally
His commitment alone should be enough.

Ahhh it's good to read this
This band has NEVER disappointed me, and this cover is no exception. Beautifully done!
Why do people think this sucks!?!? I love Deftones and I think this cover is great!
Shaun can actually sing, so it changes the mood of the song, I suppose. No offense to Chino, but Shaun is a beastly singer and a strapping lad.
Ikr? Deftones is fucking amazing, but I also like Seether. And judging this objectively, I think its a pretty good cover. Obviously it doesnt have anything on the original but still

Not an easy song to cover vocally, but Shaun puts a nice spin of his own on this.
Shaun saved my life.... every day

Shaun Morgan is basically a better version of Kurt Cobain tbh.

I dig it. Any band that would take the time to cover the Almighty Deftones deserves at least a nod.

I believe Deftones would appreciate this themselves. A real unique spin to a legendary song.
Seether covers are always so on point
Right!!!
The best covers happen when the song begins to to take on the pain of the guy covering it. When they take it and make their own . Loved this.
awesome. sounds almost as if he has a distortion humbucker on his throat and hits the switch on the chorus
this is such a good simile. the distortion he achieves is fantastic
