I was fortunate to see John Taylor with his trio on three occasions and got the chance to briefly thank him for his wonderful playing. He seemed a very nice man and never failed to move me with his music. A truly great pianist and composer RIP John.
For now ... two comments only ( ! ) on this wonderful and original pianist . Surely , one of the best pianist alive as you think ! The shadow of Debussy is near from this guy ...
This composition has always been a part of my mind from the first ever moment I heard it. Gutted to have never had the pleasure of hearing him live! Always an inspiration. :)
For John Taylor concerts here only should be pianos that are not crippled (4:49) and out of tune. It's hard to play such clean subtle music with a messy piano. Hope that there will be some videos in the future where he can play a top notch steinway. Anyway, this is one of the greatest pianists alive.

The greatest British jazz pianist of his generation. I really regret never having had the chance to see him.
Maybe, but in my opinion Jerry Lee Lewis is the greatest pianist of all time.

This beautiful song/melody sounds similar to the jazz standard "If I Should Lose You" composed by Ralph Rainger in 1936.

+Yves Gerard It's really sad, that he passed away :( His last album 2081 is really gorgeous! He did it together with his two sons.
