I like using a DTV converter once in a while. I love using my tubes for stuff like my PlayStation 2, but it's fun to use a TV as well, a TV.
I like dragging this set into the open now and then myself. retro arcade gaming!

I had one of those boxes for a while. But there were a few CRT TVs towards the end of production that came with DTV receivers.
Yeah, i had one of those. Heavy as hell and had 720i resolution too. Still, I wanted one of these boxes for a while to sort of round off the collection.
@@UncleMikeRetro I just remembered what I did with my DTV box after we got an LCD TV. There are some LCD PC monitors that came with a composite input. Particularly some higher end DELL older LCDs. We had a Dell 2007WFP I found at work, so we connected the composite output to the DELL LCD. Somehow the DTV and the LCD worked together to run the widescreen DTV signals, on the widescreen LCD without the black bars on bottom and top. The audio I got an adapter from the two RCA audio outputs to a set of normal PC speakers. Boss never realized we had a TV.

yeah i had one for comcast, but they charged for it and i didnt really use it so i dropped it. I use mythtv as well so as long as i have a device that can output to the tv then the digital is handled by the cablecard.

No sympathy needed 😒 I never had to but one of these as I had a digitally tuner set myself back then. Kind of a neat thing for $3.00
in Indonesia, we call the tuner as "Set Top Box" a.k.a STB
looking back, we call it a STB here too. I never had one before!

Hi Uncle Mike - does your cool 1994 20” Zenith CRT have A/V RCA ports in the back or is it one of those RF coax only type sets?

@@UncleMikeRetro I kept a Compaq CRT monitor for some time even though LCD screens were available! The only reason is it came with JBL speakers! I occasionally find monitors in dumpsters or curbside stuff!
