Man you're a badass James! I want to say thank you for replying to my question about replacing a compression post support beam! It gave me the confidence to tackle the job! Mine isn't as pretty as your mast step. But it is a far sight better than the knotty pine they used originally.
How did you like the crew at the boatyard? We are going to take our boat up there from Portland so we can cruise the San Juan’s over the summer, but make shilshole or Blaine our home base. We will need to have our mast re- stepped.
Spartite says to use petroleum jelly for lube when re-stepping the mast. I have tried everything and vaseline works best. Silicone lube makes it impossibly tight FYI.
