How devastating for Aniah Blanchard’s mother, to put herself out there and to probably be retraumatized. This is part of the story I hadn’t actually heard. My heart is so sad for every family who’s lost a child or loved one.
As a black woman, I want to personally thank you you for not only covering this story but also bringing awareness to the real black women that are missing! God bless you 🙏🏽 ❤️
@@TiffanyEllaMichelle Don't be embarrassed you all did nothing wrong but I understand what you mean. She went about it the wrong way and it got totally out of hand. I'm from Chicago and well...the world sees what we have to deal with here 😩 🙏🏾 for us all.
Yes. Thank you so much @StephanieHarlowe for covering this. As always you did not disappoint. This whole situation is so sad. With all the neglect they usually show women of color when they go missing and now they go full throttle, here comes a hoax. I’m glad she wasn’t really hurt but I’m so disappointed that she managed to do all of this and still not take accountability for her actions. I can’t even imagine how her family was feeling thinking she was abducted. Smfh
As a black woman this one hurts. The coverage she got is rare and for her to do what she did…it’s just absolutely heartbreaking. She just set us back at a time when there are so many black women missing that will NEVER get the attention and resources she got. Stephanie thank you for covering this with the grace you always do and bringing attention to victims that look like me. God Bless
I thought the same... I was genuinely glad to see a case like this being taken seriously given how often police will claim anybody above 18 "probably left on their own." Now I just wish all that effort could have gone towards somebody who needed it...
This girl went to auburn university. She was THERE when the community was in SHAMBLES when Aniah Blanchard went missing in auburn. I saw billboards of Aniah in my city over an hour away and her car was found blocks away from my own residence. The entire state was truly shaken when Aniah was taken and Carlee was there for ALL of that in 2019 and still pulled this selfish stunt. The audacity of this girl is truly insane.
As an Alabama native, i feel like a lot of us thought of Aniah when Carlee went “missing” and people were praying, raising money, and calling out of work to look for Carlee. This is the most selfish thing I’ve seen all year lol
Real narcissists relish in the pain, anguish, anxiety, frustration, sadness, etc... they cause. Normal ppl like us, couldn't understand it. But they're (in my opinion) a type of sociopath. Sure, they love attention & want all of it but they also are willing to harm, screw over, lie, manipulate, etc... anyone including their own family. My mother used the death of my newborn for attention, pitty, etc. That's 19 wks after she had prayed for my preborn daughter would die.
@@nattyrf511it hurt my heart to read this. My grandmother did the same when my 14 month old passed away. She tried bringing me court 6 days later to kick me out of my own house, along with my older child. Yet she wanted pictures of my baby and went around crying to everyone who would listen, asking why did God take our little angel. Narcissists are some disgusting people.
Aniah was in my class when she was abducted and murdered. This bit is disgusting and I can’t believe she would do that when she saw how it affected a whole community.
I don’t think so; victims already hesitate to come forward and it would get worse if they were threatened with jail time if the police are not able to charge the perpetrators.
@@corinaferrara1164the punishment should obviously only be put in place when it can be PROVEN it was fake, like here and with sherri papini. not just because they couldn't catch the perpetrator.

@@just_quinningHow so? This is a pretty cut and dry case, there's even video evidence. I don't think this particular one could be twisted, and in cases such as these, charges need to be laid.
Can you please cover the case of Aniah Blanchard. A new law was passed in Alabama on behalf of her daughter to keep violent offenders from getting bail.
Yasss to this!! This little girl may have made a mockery out of what we all take very seriously. But Aniah's mother was front and center to help find Carlee. I think telling their story would be an awesome way to show them the respect and appreciation that they deserve ❤️
My son, 14y/o white was missing for seven months. Zero media coverage, I emailed I called, they blew me off! Only social media generated by my daughter and I, not viral by any means. Little to NO investigation, the detective was annoyed when I'd call for updates!? He escaped on his own at three am and made it to a steak and shake asking they call the police!... Then to see this, it's simply heartbreaking!💯
Omg! That's terrifying! I have a 14 year old daughter myself. She's my 4th out of 5 children. I can't nor do I want to even think about any of my kids or grandkids going missing. I'd die from a broken heart! I'm so glad that your son was able to make it back home to you! Sadly, most people who go missing don't come home alive and well. Some never come home at all. Was your son abducted by a stranger? I only ask because most child abductions are carried out by a family member. Usually a non-custodial parent.
When my family hears the bathtub running and “she’s like a sickness in my brain…” they know mom’s checked out for an hour or two. Also, thank god you’re covering this, I’ve been dying to know your take and insight!
You have no idea how happy I am that you're covering this case. As soon as I heard about the press conference, I was like "SOMEONE GET STEPHANIE HARLOWE ON THE CASE!" Carlee is like Sherri Papini, but dumber. I wonder how many people got a heat stroke looking for her...
When she bought the snacks from Target the same day…and then they didn’t find the snacks in the car…I hollered. I guess she figured she was gonna be hungry out there in the woods or wherever she was hiding. 🤡 “they fed her cheez-its” girl byeeeeee 😂😂😂

The mom also started shaking her head no when asked if there was an abductor out there and then corrected herself. The body language is screaming in that interview
I think they reason why daddy and mommy drove to Atlanta within the first 24 hours was because they knew much earlier she faked it and went to Atlanta on on “tip” were actually getting legal advise. They went again this past weekend with Carlee. Did you see how easy it would have been for her to walk through those woods? There is a concrete trail that within two minutes brings her to a street very close to her home. The country just wants answers and accountability.
The damage she just did to real victims is the most devastating part. I hope she gets charged. Now that she put that "is she lying" in people's minds it makes me sick.
FR. "You're a stripper. I'm a nurse"... but you're not a nurse Carlee. You flunked out and now you're going to jail. Even still, stripping is more honest than stealing out of the cash register. Stay pressed.
Native American women barely get coverage as well, especially in Washington State where we have a lot of reservations, it is so sad😢 thank you for everything you do 💙🫶🏼💙🫶🏼

I have had a similar experience and a very close relative of mine was missing a couple of years ago. Nobody would help us find this relative bc of their life choices. She was located in another state luckily but it was bc me & my siblings refused to give up.
Her attorney just came out with a statement that she did in fact lie, there was no abduction, there was no toddler, she did this all on her own, no one helped her, she's sorry, she's asking for prayers, and forgiveness, and she may be facing charges.
God bless Ms Angela Harris, this shows what a kind heart she has despite the horrendous loss of her own daughter. I can't imagine the trauma she was probably going through again with this clown's actions. Shame on Justine Smollett!!
What she did was disgraceful. Purely disgraceful. Spoiled little self serving brat who felt no guilt when executing her plan. My heart goes out to the families who ACTUALLY lost a family member. Smh.
I could never put my family and friends or the community through such a thing. She should be charged for this. I hope her family does not act like she is not guilty of anything. Her family should want her to face thr consequences for what she did.
@korilester7195 unfortunately they still believe there is a "kidnapper" out there, all based on the story Carlee is continuing to tell. It's just nice LE has made it (fairly) clear they don't believe that's the case.
Does she deserve privacy after all this? Nah. She put herself in the spotlight. The public deserves answers and she should be charged, with a minimum stealing from her job and false reports to police.
They didn't want privacy when then started so it is a little late for that. She did this for attention. So let's give her ALL of the attention she so desperately wanted she created an entire hoax to get it. A hoax that could have a devastating impact on future actual missing persons cases! People finally stepped up and took a missing woman of color as serious as they do the Gabby Petito's and this is what happens? Nah, give her all of the attention

Someone did a similar thing for 2 days in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She was suppose to graduate from Nursing School in May. A few days before she “disappeared”. Come to find out she failed out of nursing school and there was no graduation. She was arrested.
I think this girl probably left a trail of destruction behind her ever since her teenage years. Her parents have probably been cleaning up behind her as long as she's been alive. I don't think Carlee is anywhere close to stopping.
I don't understand what she thought she was going to get out of this. We all remember what happened with Sherri Papini. There can't be a happy ending from this.
@mol588 a lot of women wear wigs, as an alternative to extensions etc. So it could be a style choice, rather than it being due to an illness. I don't know if this is the case here, but I know wigs are used more nowadays than they used to be, as the quality of wigs has improved greatly from decades ago.
If Carlee is traumatized then it's her own fault. She did it to herself! What did she think people would do once the truth came out? Just laugh it off and say "Good one! You sure had us fooled! 😂😂😂" She and her parents need to get over themselves.
On her Twitter, back in 2019 when she was 21/22 years old, she posted repeatedly that if she didn't get a puppy for her birthday (and later that year, for Christmas) that she "would run away" and "that all hell would break loose". A person responded by saying "you say this every year". She also stated that her parents didn't believe her, but that "this time it's serious". Her parents knew she threatened to run away when she wouldn't get what she wanted, so how on Earth did they believe this "kidnapping"??? When I saw those Tweets, I immediately got the impression of a spoiled and entitled girl who is both immature and manipulative. I'm under the impression that she hasn't had to face consequences for her actions, and if that is true, it's not surprising that she would do this as she wouldn't believe there would be consequences. ****PS...Hoover Police are holding an update press conference TODAY at 5 pm EDT***
I hope she is charged with something for doing this. She needs to learn that she can't do whatever she wants and get away with it. She needs to be punished in some way. It would probably be the first time she has ever been punished for anything in her life.
@@MarcyTrivetteI am sure her parents will buy her out of this for about $250,000. Unless, like we always say, “it’s not what you know, but who you know”.

Thank you for elevating the stories of the women who have gone missing with little coverage. I think this is an opportunity for all of us to remember their names and call attention to their families pain. 7 year old Alexis Patterson went missing from my hometown in Milwaukee WI on May 3, 2002. Disappeared while walking to school which was only a half block from her home. She has never been found :(
She had TWO big birthday parties this weekend. One in Atlanta on Saturday & the other at her home on Sunday. She's too devastated to talk to police but she can party down all weekend. She's a spoiled narcissistic brat. "You've perpetuated a kidnapping hoax & stole from your employer so let's throw you two celebrations" says her mother.
The fact that her parents allowed this is crazy and it shows why she is this way! No accountability. I'm sure they paid for it, lije they do everything else she has. I don't care if she is 25 or not, I would have told my daughter, absolutely not! U will not be rewarded for your disrespectful behavior. She will learn nothing from this. They at the very least could have warned her that going out partying after what she did is not a good look! It is in very poor taste and it is a slap in the face to everyone who was out here worrying and searching for her.
Yes exactly 💯! She has time for PaR-Ty, but no time to contact law enforcement. She's like...nobody got time for that! I wonder if granola bars and Cheez It's were served at her birthday party.
I think there's also an under reporting in the media of missing men. We have a case here in Jacksonville, FL from 2001 where a 34 yr old man left home for work & was never seen again. Local media reports on it every once in a while, but I've never seen it covered anywhere else.
I cant imagine the terror and horror of hearing your loved one scream and drop the phone alone at night on the side of a highway. She didnt just run away, she wanted people to think an absolute nightmare happened. We dont know her reasoning for this hoax, but it was cruel and exceptionally painful for her friends, family, and community.
yeah, but notice how she allegedly did that with someone she knew, she didn't do that while on the phone with 911 operator. It seems she hung up and then made the staged call again, "allegedly "

As an Alabama native I was scared and praying for the best for this girl but why y'all can't say she's just a spoiled lil rich girl who wanted her ex attention blows my mind
Carlee’s just had a party for her 26th birthday. There were lots of cars parked outside her house. The police need to arrest her. Her sense of entitlement (partying in the midst of this situation) and lack of remorse is sociopathic.
This was calculated and planned and now her parents continue to do what has made Carlee the selfish person she is today, hiding her to keep her from the consequences of her actions as a 25 year old WOMAN. She's not a child. She is absolutely spoiled (IMO) and I think it was related to wanting to worry her bf and have him run to her side. And in the beginning he was on the front lines, doing exactly what she wanted. Worried and looking for her. All of his thoughts on HER safety. But then the case got huge, which she didn't expect and she got caught. Now she's hiding and lying to her parents who seemed to be buying it. If the police don't make her face consequences she will continue to manipulate, steal/commit crimes to benefit her, and hurt people around her (she may still even with consequences if she doesn't work on herself and her parents actually gold her accountable)
Isn't it convenient that they "fed her" the same things that she bought? lol I think she holed up in a hotel somewhere and I think the police will figure it out. She needs to face the consequences for this. Not only were people looking for her, but they were also looking for a child. She's yet another spoiled, entitled girl.
That was my first thought when she reappeared, "The police FINALLY acted like a human being was in danger and NOW, thanks to her lie, the next scenario will not be treated with as much urgency."
I really hope this isn't true. I feel for her parents, obviously people of love and faith. And for their disappointment and embarrassment. But something good did come out of it. White people, like myself, are hearing and learning that women of color aren't receiving the attention of the police and media...it's sickening. How is anyone supposed to help find them if we don't know? That's the conversation I hope is about to get really loud.

@@mcmd2009t has happened many times. They leave car seats and strollers. Sometimes they even drop babies on women’s doorsteps to let them cry to lure the women out. It’s real and it happens. They watch houses, stores and streets to pick the perfect target, or the best area to do it. Sometimes they will just play audio of a baby crying. Sometimes they will come up to your door and be begging you for help only to break in and kidnap or kill you.
It's so sad to me the negative impact this story will have now. All for revenge/ attention. Whatever its deemed to be, so many women/kids are sex trafficked and are forgotten and their stories never once aired on a news channel like this will only punish the people who truly need help.
There is no reason this case should alter the way precincts are beginning to process cases. It went exactly as it should have, and there is no reason they should go back to improper or ineffective investigations now. Totally agree about the Hoover Police Chief! He was stylin'! Also, he seems very professional. We need more like him! I had a sneaking suspicion about this case when I heard that Carlee was the ONLY ONE to report a child wandering on the side of the Interstate. That raised all my red flags.
Yes the chief looked spot on! I was already so applauding them with their swift response to her case from the beginning, I was... Whoa! They are on top of things! And I also admire their way of saying it was a Hoax, without saying it was a Hoax. It was brilliant.
Glad to see you are covering this story. Being an ex police dispatcher, I knew something was fishy, when she was the only call that came into 911 regarding the lone toddler on the side of an interstate at 930 pm. No calls regarding her struggling with a man either.
Exactly! She also refused to do a second in depth interview with police. This screams volumes. As if Carlee genuinely believed there was a toddler being used to abduct people & she had been abused the way she said - why wouldn’t she want to speak to the police and help find the toddler and arrest the perpetrators?
But clearly there is something very wrong with her! Mental health issues? Attention seeking behaviors? IMHO- She needs therapy...and she needs consequences for her actions!

I'm a Hoover resident. This event happened almost 2 miles from where I live. I was skeptical from the jump! In Hoover, you can throw a rock anywhere and hit a Hoover pstrol car. It is a heavily patrolled city. It is also a suburb that mainly inhabits professionals like Drs and lawyers. It is not a place that traffickers would target, and the road she was on is a very heavily trafficked road; so there no way a trap was set there. Then there was no other sighting of the child. It made 0 sense to me.
I was suspicious about it, and my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the video. All those cars going by and no one else saw anything. No car with a man, no nothing.
Yeah from the looks of the neighborhood behind the fence, how would a supposed 18 wheeler get into that nice suburban neighborhood just to kidnap someone lol
It's heartbreaking to think that people of color undeniably get less media coverage and help when missing, but in this case she got so much and it appears to be a hoax. What an injustice she did to help change that and I hope this doesn't skew the media even more. With that being said, I applaud media and police for taking this case so seriously right away and I only wish this would happen for every case out there.
Like it or not, the media covers what sells. It's how they pay their bills. You can set up a channel to do shows on these cases that you think need coverage.
The media covers what people find shocking via relatability (aka: "How could this happen to a good person?") This one was covered because it was about a "successful", "good girl" from a good family in her little red Mercedez out saving toddlers on the highway. Socioeconomic status tends to correspond with these points of value.
Even the first interview with the parents they seem so cool and collected…. The fact her parents clearly realize this was fake and still make their daughter a victim is mind blowing….

This went much further than Alabama. I’m in SoCal and have done search and rescue for over 20 years. I would have donated my time, lost wages at work to help find this young girl. To know she made it up is beyond messed up. This isn’t going to stop me or anyone else from answering the next call. Accountability and sincere remorse needs to be forthcoming from Carlee. I’m not a fan of her going to Jail but she should pay every cent back and get community service working with true victims.
@@perlastutzman151 There is a real missing woman from NC Alisha Whatts. She didn’t get this kind of attention like many other real missing persons listed on this show. Maybe the one good thing that comes from this is coverage of real missing people.
I think the biggest mistake was including a toddler in the call to 911. I think that's why it went viral so quickly... I don't think that's what was intended. A cry for attention from the family and loved ones but not the whole nation.
I DEF agree with that. I dont think She planned on the amount of attn she got from literally everyone, celebrities included, and for her case to take off the way it did I think kinda spooked her a bit and didn't know what to do atp.
@@ChronicLB it is certainy benefiting her now. Her social media is picking up loads of followers though her accounts keep appearing and disappearing. Same with her boyfriend.
Carlee came clean today about the hoax, which is great! She should demonstrate genuine contrition with restitution, particularly performing LOTS of community service hours. In turn, people should accept her apology (if it appears to be sincere) and extend grace. Edit: I just saw pics and video of Carlee's weekend birthday bash, which shows a lack of awareness and consideration on both Carlee and her parents' behalf. No heckin' way would I throw a birthday party for my daughter after she pulled shameful shenanigans like this! She wouldn't even get a cake--just humble pie.
We love you Stephanie! How have you lived through this much life without hearing the phrase, “18-wheeler”? 🤔 Thanks for your deep dive on Carlee Hustle. 🖤
I'm so glad that just because this was a hoax you didn't waste this video you actually gave the real missing a voice and brought up an important discussion in the more mainstream here on youtube. I look forward to hearing real missing person cases that need our support in the near future, thank you Stephanie
Immediate click. I've been waiting for this one to get covered. While it was happening and I started to get suspicious, I kept thinking "I can't wait to hear what Stephanie thinks"
People who continue to get evetybody involved in their "attention getter" fake kidnapping should definitely not be merely slspped on the wrist! Our judical system HAS to show these spoiled brats consequences! They need stiff pumishments for this inexcusable hoax that causes money, anguish and fear to many other lives! We are suppose to show empathy to the spoiled liar for mental reasons but the empathy needs to be to the msny lives affected by these lies! They definetly need to pay back the many all the money spent on this non Existing situation! That will come out of the parents money,as well! Therefore this liar will not even hurt from her pocket!! Furthermore Im tired of hearing that she is being bullied when SHE is the cause of this entire ignorant story! It continues to get far too much attention and im sick of it taken up space on our true crime shows because IT IS NOT A TRUE CRIME!!!😢
I commented on the Crime Weekly News bit, but I'll say it again here: thank you fir covering this. I'm an Alabamaian about an hour away from where this happened. My mom, my (then-pregnant) sister, and I were all scared shitless and keeping each other updated on Carlee's case. My sister and my husband have doctors in the Birmingham area, so thinking about going out there caused a bunch of anxiety. I didn't go out and help search, but if another person goes missing, I want to help. I'll try to do my own tiny part to make sure the community outpouring isn't impacted by one person's selfish decisions. I hope our local communities can have the same thoughts. 😕
thank you for promoting and sharing the pov of a black person when covering this!!! we don’t see that a lot in videos of this type and i appreciate your constant quality and nuance ❤
This happened not far from where I live & my best friend called this a hoax from the beginning & I completely agreed with her. I can’t wait for charges to be brought against her bc it’s not fair to people actually missing.
Maybe not prison but definitely jail. The slap on the wrist that our justice system has been giving these liars and the humiliation when they get caught is obviously not enough of a deterrent
Maybe not as severe as Sherrie papini cause I gotta say, she didn’t hurt herself and try to play it off. It’s definitely not as intense. But honestly this isn’t something people should see as a quick get famous scheme. Rudy farias is another one I just can’t understand.
I don’t know whether her boyfriend allegedly cheating on her was the trigger and motivation for this ridiculous act. Or whether the alleged embezzlement from her work place was her motivation. But quite early in it was suspicious, and then rather obvious that she was making this up whilst everyone was crying, praying and searching for her. She was holed up with snacks, stolen bathrobe and movies in an inn! Absolutely deplorable behaviour. Let’s remember Carlee is not a 13yr old kid. She is grown 25yr old woman. It feels like she has thrown people’s care and own horrifying experiences back in their faces. Not to mention the extortionate waste of resources and services. Carlee needs to be charged & serve time.
Hey Steph, I’m sorry for your situation. I relate more than you know. I’m gonna watch, like, & comment on every video I can to make sure you’re still getting the support you need. Sending lots of love.
The Mom’s “Absolutely” and shaking her head no when asked if they thought an abductor was still out there told a lot. I thought this was another Sherri Papini situation off the bat. Kept it to myself tho 😂
Thank You Stephanie!! This is so disheartening. I’m glad she’s safe . And gets some help . Lighter note .,,. I Fully agree !!! Chief Derzis knows how to dress , and present himself. Love his suit ! Very Dapper like you said 😅 Such a crazy case . Have a wonderful week 💚
Seeing the pain her parents were feeling is so horrible. I can't imagine the confusing feelings now. It must be such a relief that she's ok but wow. It's awful but also thank goodness she's ok. I just don't even know what I'd do as a parent.
How devastating for Aniah Blanchard’s mother, to put herself out there and to probably be retraumatized. This is part of the story I hadn’t actually heard. My heart is so sad for every family who’s lost a child or loved one.

Filing a false report to police is a FELONY! People need to learn the weight and consequences of what that means.
No it's not, it's a class A nonperson misdemeanor. Google is free y'all.
She's only being charged with misdemeanors.
💯
It’s not a felony in Alabama. It is in Florida. It Should be the same nationwide.
She got away too easy after causing all this trouble
There needs to be harsher punishment and huge fines for people who make false reports.
I don’t think so; victims already hesitate to come forward and it would get worse if they were threatened with jail time if the police are not able to charge the perpetrators.
90% of "false reports" are just labeled that way because the cops are lazy and don't want to actually investigate.
@@corinaferrara1164the punishment should obviously only be put in place when it can be PROVEN it was fake, like here and with sherri papini. not just because they couldn't catch the perpetrator.

Her family is in on it too at this point..
Does anyone know, was this girl sick, on chemo ?
The report mentioned a wig .. not the reason for her wearing it ..
@mol588 a lot of women wear wigs, as an alternative to extensions etc. So it could be a style choice, rather than it being due to an illness. I don't know if this is the case here, but I know wigs are used more nowadays than they used to be, as the quality of wigs has improved greatly from decades ago.
So Carlee’s mom is concerned about the “trauma” of people saying things online but not the trauma of being abducted? That says a LOT! 🧐
I know! Doesn't it!!!!!
It's so funny. Like a B grade movie gone D grade and can't even get on Netflix.
If Carlee is traumatized then it's her own fault. She did it to herself! What did she think people would do once the truth came out? Just laugh it off and say "Good one! You sure had us fooled! 😂😂😂" She and her parents need to get over themselves.
Mother's will be mother's, always trying to excuse their children
Wow! I didn’t even catch that!!
Yeah I don't know her parents don't pass the sniff test to me
As a black woman, thank you for you view on black missing women and children. I look forward to you doing some videos.

To learn it wasn’t real won’t stop anyone from answering the next call, I’m just happy LE gave details once we heard all that…it saved us from making an unnecessary trip.
@@kenzieshaye6818 Let's not get it twisted. I was very relieved that she returned home - ALIVE. Because like so many others, I was pulled in, I shared, I posted alerts, shoot I was ready to truck down there and help in the search.
For all the women and children that have been taken and never found or returned, I'm angry for them. If nothing else, give an apology. Her behavior is still reprehensible.
@@kenzieshaye6818everyone in Alabama was relieved and thanking God that this young woman was found.. I can assure you of that. The minute that information was released, it went viral. The other concerning information trickled out after the fact. Not sure what you’re trying to imply there but you’re wrong about people not being relieved she was found safe. Having said that, everyone has just as much right to be PISSED ***if it is proven that she made the entire thing up*** which is looking more and more likely the more that comes out.
@@fearthebeardmomma2102I'm in North Alabama as well! And we learned of her disappearance incredibly quickly. It was scary, regardless if we weren't close to Birmingham. I immediately started texting people I know with her picture just because it was scary to think that this was happening and any exposure could help. Then to find out it was all orchestrated, it really does feel like a slap in the face. And it concerns me that incidents like this could cloud people's perceptions the next time that there is a suspected abduction. We have to stop making false claims and start holding people accountable when they make them, or no one will take these cases seriously.
As an Alabama native I was scared and praying for the best for this girl but why y'all can't say she's just a spoiled lil rich girl who wanted her ex attention blows my mind
I mean I feel like she kind of said that without actually saying it.
Because the public do not why she pulled this crap!
Cause we don't have all the information yet. Gotta wait and see
The dapper police chief looks like he walked off the set of the barbie movie.😂❤
Isn't it convenient that they "fed her" the same things that she bought? lol I think she holed up in a hotel somewhere and I think the police will figure it out. She needs to face the consequences for this. Not only were people looking for her, but they were also looking for a child. She's yet another spoiled, entitled girl.
That was my first thought when she reappeared, "The police FINALLY acted like a human being was in danger and NOW, thanks to her lie, the next scenario will not be treated with as much urgency."
Exactly!
@@relaxedyou4059 I don't know how old you are, but this has always been truth. WOC, indigenous women and poor women are always last on the agenda. These conversations need to be had because too many people don't pay attention. Not you personally, but all of us.
Sadly this type of hoax will continue and worsen due to our online culture. We will see more hoaxes and less police response to real and fake situations. Real predators thank idiots like this girl for making it easier for the real bad guys.
@@relaxedyou4059agreed. I think the media is partially to blame. They decide what people see and hear. They only show us stories they think will sell. If this girl “disappeared” from a parking lot somewhere I have a feeling we never would’ve heard anything about her from the media. Maybe the local news would’ve put in a 10 second clip, if that. But for some reason I doubt that, too.
I cant with you 😂 between lusting over the police chief and coining the name ‘the orange haired forest people’ and the rest… i barely had time to recover… I am in tears.
The amount of panic and rage I had and the number of tears I gave to this strange woman pisses me off. for Aniah's mother I am disgusted.
I never believed the story and I don’t believe the police believed her either. Even the 911 operator sounded skeptical
Unfortunately for YOU this wasn’t about YOU!
@kathyorourke9273.
a lot of people are saddened because they prayed for her to not be killed, rapped …
and for her ass to cause all this she better be ashamed of herself..
Huh?! That was a bit much, don't you think? I knew it was BS when they said the wig was left behind. Like, please!
What are you talking about???? What this case WILL cause? Lmao black woman are missing everyday and nobody cares. If she was white you’d be screaming she needs mental health care. Hypocrite.
When I first heard this situation I was horrified thinking someone lured a women using a baby!!! Such a scary situation when you have to pause and think about if you are helping save a baby or if you are about to become a victim too. Stay safe and hold your babies tight, everyone.
Using a baby or child to lure someone would be kind of hit and miss. What if a cop pulled up and not a woman?
@@mcmd2009t has happened many times. They leave car seats and strollers. Sometimes they even drop babies on women’s doorsteps to let them cry to lure the women out.
It’s real and it happens. They watch houses, stores and streets to pick the perfect target, or the best area to do it.
Sometimes they will just play audio of a baby crying. Sometimes they will come up to your door and be begging you for help only to break in and kidnap or kill you.
@mcmd2009 I have a similar thought when I hear about break-ins. How are you sure someone on the other side isn't strapped and ready to shoot?
So true! I thought omg you don't wanna advice people to not help a child lost on the side of the road but it's such a horrible trap
So true! This was my first thought, it could have SO easily been me if I saw a baby walking along the road 😞
Even if, and I say if, this was a complete hoax (which I still don't believe it was), the investigation still followed procedure and will be used to run future cases. Because they will happen.
@@catserver8577Procedurally no, implicit bias yes.
I’m surprised Stephanie bothered to covered this hoax , no worth the time
@@AprilMay_100% agree. That’s what’s so tragic.
1:17:19 First of all, IF a woman that is cheating with someone else's man knows that said man is not single then it IS their fault and they the woman that is being cheated on has every right to be mad at that woman AND her man. If a woman knowingly cheats with a man that is attached to another man, they're both homewreckers. The man and the woman he is cheating with.
People like her are the reason so many families aren’t believed when they report their loved one missing. Disgusting.
This is by far the most informative video I’ve seen on this crazy case. I expect nothing less, of course. Stephanie’s ability to deliver us the most factual story with all of the details, never ceases to amaze me.
Listening to the dispatch radio from this event was honestly incredible, the police responded to help the child and where on site within 4 minutes and they where immediately concerned about her abandoned car and started looking for the baby and Carlee, calling for drones and everything within 10 minutes
Angela Blanchard has gone through something so beyond tragic and heartbreaking, losing her own beautiful daughter! YET she immediately went to help and give her full support. What a beautiful soul this woman has ❤
To then discover the probability this was a giant hoax! This is so damaging!
How despicable of Carlee to put her family, friends and her community through this!
I truly hope this stupid girls actions wont impact awareness and coverage of others who a true victims.
Absolute madness!
Excellent coverage Stephanie as usual 🤍
Being from Alabama it makes me proud to see law enforcement jump on this so fast & take it serious. And proud of the community for stepping up too
"He looks like he can pop a bottle of champagne without even flinching" 🤣🤣🤣 One day, if I am fortunate enough, I will be able to use this line.
The only way to stop things like this, make this person pay back the state of Alabama and some jail time.
I totally agree.
Absolutely. If she had just wandered off, no 911 call, no stealing and buy supplies, no googles searches and it looked like she did have some kind of mental break I would feel different but this was calculated. And now her parents are continuing to do what has made Carlee the person she is by hiding her and keeping her from the consequences of her actions.
@@LaLaLonna if she was white you would all be screaming she deserves mental health care!!!!! Save her!!!!! Hypocrites. If you’re black you enjoy that koo laid huh? Slave mentality.

yeah I think there is some very mild mental illness stuff going on but she knew what she did was wrong (all the things) and she needs to take accountability. It's actually a class act for the Hoover police to not throw her under the bus publicly at the press conference.
Being from Birmingham, this initially made me so proud of how our community showed up to help. Now, it is infuriating knowing how much effort could have been put towards actual people that need help. Let’s keep this energy to help people who really need our help!!
Was just watching Detective Perspective, 5 more min and I'll be here Stephanie! My congrats to Derrick's new project, really captivating.
Love him!!! I for one had no idea at all it was a hoax.
@@surcva99 Agree! This case should be a template for others in the future when this kind of thing unfortunately happens. Kudos to the Hoover PD!
Really nice job stephanie. I watch you all the time and this was a real show of class. Thank you.
Glad to see you are covering this story. Being an ex police dispatcher, I knew something was fishy, when she was the only call that came into 911 regarding the lone toddler on the side of an interstate at 930 pm. No calls regarding her struggling with a man either.
The police offered her 72 hours to have a psych review and she turned it down. The family can’t be that concerned about her mental health.
Exactly! She also refused to do a second in depth interview with police. This screams volumes. As if Carlee genuinely believed there was a toddler being used to abduct people & she had been abused the way she said - why wouldn’t she want to speak to the police and help find the toddler and arrest the perpetrators?
The mom knows she’s lying because the damn mom is lying as well..

A statement just came out from an attorney that it was a hoax. Hope she gets jail time. She’s vile.
As an alabamian we are appalled & disgusted w/ this whole situation. The parents knew she wasnt missing after the first day. & there had been alot of rumors going on the second day. I was defending her going so hard for EVERY SINGLE screenshot & rumor to be confirmed by the police except one. Which is that she ran off to be w/ a 17 yr that got her pregnant. However the sheriff said there's still information that hasn't been released yet so I wouldnt be surprised if that turned out to be true as well. To drag Angela Harris in this mess, reliving Aniahs kidnapping & murder is so sick. &. They deserve jail time. Especially carlee & the mom. 😊

The only Trauma that girl suffered is social media backlash and being caught in one of the most horrific of lies.

Yeah from the looks of the neighborhood behind the fence, how would a supposed 18 wheeler get into that nice suburban neighborhood just to kidnap someone lol
Birmingham native here, and you’re absolutely right about Hoover, the HPD, and I-459!
Im living for your sass today 😂 that ”real snazzy” police chief, and the ”orange haired forest people”?? 👏👏👏
The left wing media could definitely change that narrative. Sadly they choose not to
It was new she said there was a child missing, it wasn’t about just Carlee.
Like it or not, the media covers what sells. It's how they pay their bills.
You can set up a channel to do shows on these cases that you think need coverage.
That’s how I feel about the Jesse Smollet case.
The media covers what people find shocking via relatability (aka: "How could this happen to a good person?")
This one was covered because it was about a "successful", "good girl" from a good family in her little red Mercedez out saving toddlers on the highway.
Socioeconomic status tends to correspond with these points of value.
Even the first interview with the parents they seem so cool and collected…. The fact her parents clearly realize this was fake and still make their daughter a victim is mind blowing….
They went to Atlanta while she was missing. When questioned they said they were following leads but they had planned to go any way.
Disgusting is more accurate.
I don’t think the parents were in on it at first.
*actually. you are wrong. *her brotherwas pleading for help.. .. just because people are composed doesnt mean they are in on anything.. chill*

Maybe not prison but definitely jail. The slap on the wrist that our justice system has been giving these liars and the humiliation when they get caught is obviously not enough of a deterrent
She should be made to repay the money it cost to go out and look for her 😡
Maybe not as severe as Sherrie papini cause I gotta say, she didn’t hurt herself and try to play it off.
