    Good runs! 6:32 that is screaming! I still have my 2.5 Revo from early 2000's as well. The transmitter takes 8 freaking batteries! Thanks to me watching EM and getting the Nitro itch again, (nothing beats the sound of Nitro RC's), I just bought a T-Maxx 3.3 yesterday and plan to break it in this weekend. Nitros run better than electric in the cold weather.

    So glad to see you’re back at the jump spot. I was eating lunch and when it took off and you still had the pull start handle in your hand I laughed so hard I spit out some food!!!

    That was just really fun to watch. For the age of that truck there is still alot of fun to be had with it. Pocket catching antenna and all. Great video !

    I still have, love and use my first gen 2.5 & 3.3. Even after all these years they are still so much fun to use. Yea they’re not as fast as my electric ones, but the sound and smell of nitro is just lights out fantastic.

    This is a blast from the past I’m so glad u did this although it makes me feel dam old .. can’t believe it’s been 20 years .. it’s been about 20 years since I ran mine and now I remember why . Great vid tho 👍

  • @EJ-74

    Awesome to see you ripping the TMAXX 🔥 Blast from the past for sure. This was my first nitro back in 2000. I put a Picco 21 size motor on mine and took the springs off the inside shocks and used them as dampeners and raced the crap out of it. I drilled holes in the shock mount to lower it and it handled 10 times better and didn't roll over as bad.
    That was a blast seeing this thing at the jump spot. 🔥👍✌️

    Love the way the 2 speed sounds when shifting, i always changed my shift point to whine out more in first gear and bang second, the truck would do a small fish tail, like the old shift kits in my old Z28 😂 🤣

    Pretty impressive for a 20 year old rig! Makes me wish i still had my first hobby grade nitro rc it was a 1992 traxxas nitro hawk i was 12 years old in 92 and thought it was the coolest thing ever! lol

    I'm barely going to get my first TMaxx! This is a Newer Generation 2.5! It's also got Reverse! I wanted the 3.3 but it doesn't have reverse. So I settled for the 2.5! Which is still pretty cool! I can't wait to get it!!

      Congratulations on getting one of the most iconic rc ever made. The tmaxx did huge things for this hobby.
      A lot of these younger guys seem to be sleeping on the fun that they are. Or are to scared of nitro to pick one up.
      Used to be everyone new how to run/tune a nitro. Now it's a rare thing. Sad times!
      Anyway. Don't forget you can always upgrade the 3.3's trans to have reverse pretty easily!

    I know unmetered air will make it lean. That causes a high idle. Like when it flips over. It revs high and stalls. More air less fuel makes it lean. I think your carb has air leak. That carb kit should come in handy. 👍

  • @NathanStorer
    @NathanStorer 2 роки тому +2

    Just so you know. On top of the transmission is a rubber plug. If you pull the plug. You can adjust the shift timing of 2nd gear uses a hex wrench/allen wrench. I originally had to adjust my shift timing. You can get it to shift just where you want it. 😎👍

    • @TheAdventuresofWally
      @TheAdventuresofWally 2 роки тому +1

      Although yours seems to shift ok. Maybe a bit late

    • @TheAdventuresofWally
      @TheAdventuresofWally 2 роки тому +1

      I take that back. Shifting fine. Prob just the carb issue. I'm no expert. But I love guessing. Then seeing if I was right. Love those live streams repairing rc,s to. Need to do a live stream when you repair the trash bag. Lol

    Riching the top end a little bit. If you tune with a full tank it will start to lean out at half a tank because of the extra air in the tank.
    Always tune the truck at half a tank then fill it up. It will run rich till it gets to half.

  • @bevinsracing
    @bevinsracing 2 роки тому

    Guy. The lower the tank fuel is on the older units without the " clunk " filter in tank will run leaner the further the tank drops. I try to pre heat them up to 200 with heat gun then set tune with full tank. I think the th servo is over closing on brakes and shutting carb closed maybe that why it fighting idle

      Bad carb. When you have a propa tune on them you need the wheelie bar they will just pop right away. The carb more than likely has a air leak causing the problems had it with two of mine on a 2.5r and 3.3 done my head in. Took the engines apart to check them all fine then tried a carb of my RB engine tmaxx an boom back in action so just got new carbs problem solved

    Couple points. Me too time get ol muggy going and do lil nitro. With arrmas yes every 5 good idea have figure 6 packs is 3 hrs you can use thicker fluids get more performance but I tell you mistake I always do , have to buy diff gaskets especially the center diffs on arrmas they will heat up and expunge all the fluids arrma knows this why they used aluminum center diff . Another thing if not going use aluminum bulk heads than buy whole replacement from jennys once alot time or you waste a ring gear ring gear 25$ whole new assembly 35 to 50 . I need 2 exb diffs and I buy a couple extra but like you said except as maintenance im putting several packs of ripping daily . My typhon had so many packs I had to swap the chassis and only broke input gear ⚙ but after atleast 25hrs of ripping so 🤷. Just listening to live feed yea we can tell you're a good 👍 dad 👨.....

    • @Boogie_the_cat
      @Boogie_the_cat 6 місяців тому

      Savage never changes gears properly. So few companies make combustion engines of this size and competition is so fierce, costs are cut everywhere and the Savage has serious quality control issues.
      I've never seen one shift gears properly out of the box.
      Would you recommend that ?

  • @EZRider723

    It seems as though you have it perfect for high speed running or racing here idle isn't a big deal, but with just regular backyard bashing the idle is way high. When you think yours is idling too low is what I considered perfectly normal when I still had my T-Maxx as nitro instead of electric. But then again I had the O.S. Engines .18 cv-rx in mine so it was basically a 3.3. But yeah, this tuning junk is exactly why I converted it to electric and will probably stay with electric vehicles from now on!

  • @RC_Berserker
    @RC_Berserker 2 роки тому

    My buddy had one back in the day. Always had issues with tuning and never could keep up with my losi xxx nt sport nitro buggy. We both sold our rigs years ago and we both have Xmaxx’s, I have a V1 and V2 Maxx among other rigs LOL! I’ll never buy another gasser again 🤷🏻‍♂️
