Great job, I enjoyed watching you think through the problems and come up with solutions. I would imagine many more problems that you have not shared. We need more people in the world like you. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas!
hey... you're back with the rust-steer... going for gym right now, will watch after getting back... good to see that you're making progress. Merry christmas.
just completed the video... its not a rust bucket anymore, nice job. Was wondering about the mounts for the foot pedals!! are they not to be welded now or am i missing something??!!
LOL. No I didn't forget them I was running out of time to paint the majority before the cold weather. I have the metal ready and my templates. . Merry Christmas as well!
i would have liked to see you spray some acid on the rust before priming, like ospho, i use the concrete/metal prep green stuff in a spray bottle, wet it down for twenty minutes then wash it away with water, dry then paint, seems to hold up real good. Gonna be a fine machine when youre finished!
you may want to use some lock tite on those bolts. or use a lock nut. not the lock nut with the nylon in it. you dont want to get that thin finished out and the those nuts come loose. ... OR you could have welded the nuts to the frame.
I didn’t know you started this build over a year ago! Keep the videos going, I’m just about to starting sanding mine.

I did use a POR15 product(metal etching rust neutralizer) on the entire machine after grinding , it's just boring to watch. Thanks for the support!
Looks great! 😊

took the time to bevel edges but never layed a root pass then your hot pass then reinforce the weld might have some cracking 🤷♂
Sandblasting would speed things up i think , using a arc welder might of been better to burn the weld in
Are those nuts and bolts high tensile? They don't look it.
Hopefully u put something else in there other then butter bolts
In total, about how many hours until now ? I got a 743 from 1986 with 4900 running hours ..... not really looking forward to renovate it.
I’m eating wawa.
whats with the muting work noises it totally ruins the video we are men who make noise welding grinding kept thinking I was going deaf
