This was a special concert for Clive Davis and Courtney (now 19) opened it. The rest of the line-up was established artists such as Barry Manilow, Art Garfunkel, Dionne Warwick, Carlos Santana, yet she shone bright with an incredible standing ovation at the end. This is the ONLY part of the concert that the New York Pops chose to put on UA-cam.

Hi Carl. So cool that you came across Courtney's music. She is absolutely amazing. She sings this style of music spectacularly, but what many don't know, is that COurtney has one of the most versatile voices in all of music. Whether it's Rock, or R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads and more, she is equally magnificent. She even had an opera clip go viral. Regardless of genre, there is never a drop off in the incredible quality of her music. In addition to the best vocals you will ever hear, it's her range that separates her from other artists. To hear Courtney do a ballad is to really appreciate what an absolutely gorgeous voice she has. She truly is a generational level talent.
What an incredible performance this was. This was on April 29th. The New York Pops honored Clive Davis with a huge concert at Carnegie Hall. Everyone who is anyone in music was there. Courtney was invited personally by Clive to open the show. She blew off the roof and the doors and brought the entire audience to their feet at Carnegie in a standing ovation with this rip roaring, stage dominating rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart'. Janis was Clive's first signee. It was unbelievable. Courtney shared the stage with many all time greats tied to Clive like Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, John Mellencamp, Busta Rhymes and many more. The New York Pops released this 2+ minute clip of her performance. It now has over two million views on the Pops site (along with 2.6M on TikTok). By far the most views of any video the New York Pops has released since they started posting in 2014. Too bad they didn't release the whole thing, because Courtney's full performance was spectacular. So far it's the only individual performance that the Pops have released from the concert. Kind of says something about how fabulous they thought it was. If you watch the conductor, rather than Courtney (which is hard when she just nailed the song), the conductor sneaks a long peak at Courtney's performance instead of remaining focused on his musicians. The look on his face says it all. The same can be said for the guitarist. Let's be real. If you were on stage, 15 feet away from this magnificent performance, how could you not help but sneak a peak. It's not very often that you get to hear the voice of a lifetime. It was mind boggling hearing her live. Take how great she sounds digitally, multiply it by ten, and that gives some sense of how sensational she sounds live.
I know you are aware of Courtney from AGT, but many of your subscribers may not be, Plus, so much has happened since then, so a little background on Courtney. The AGT part may be redundant for you.
Courtney first rose to worldwide fame with this performance on America's Got Talent (AGT). Her audition went viral and now has over 1 billion overall on line views. Courtney herself is closing in on 3 billion views. She has die-hard fans from virtually every country in the world. While on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Courtney was so great on AGT that she was almost immediately signed to a record deal at Syco/Arista records (Sony Music). After AGT, those that knew her from only there, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she surely is, but she is so, so much more. As I mentioned above, her range is astounding. So in 2019, she released an EP called the 'Cover Sessions' where she took some of the biggest recent hits across different genres, and re-invented them into her vision of the way they could have been sung. They were all sensational. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal versatility and her off the charts creativity. All four of the 'Cover Session' songs (Old Town Road, Sign of the Times, Someone You Loved, Sucker) are available on her UA-cam channel and would make great reactions. Take my word that none of Courtney's cover on the EP sound anything like the originals. She re-invented them. Despite how big of hits these four songs were, I've never come across anyone who has heard both the originals and Courtney's version, who didn't think Courtney blew the originals out of the water.
Courtney went through hell to start getting her original music out. First, her label, for years trying to turn her into something she didn’t want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to just pop, but there’s more. Of course, there was Covid, which delayed her album release for more than two years. Then her label was sold, creating even more chaos. At the beginning of 2023, as soon as she could, she walked away from her label and went independent.
Courtney has a huge song library that she hasn't been able to release because of the reasons described above, but she has shared many of them, in whole or in part with fans, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Since she has gone independent in 2023, she has already released five mind blowing originals across multiple genres. They are 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an uptempo fabulous jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's swing, 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it, 'Monsters', a truly magnificent rock anthem and 'Christmas Rocks', a rocky Christmas song that simply demands you move with it. All are available on her UA-cam channel. Now that she's independent, she has said to expect a release every month or two. Next up is the release of her long delayed debut album, which she has confirmed she has just finished recording. So buckle up, it's going to be an incredible ride. I can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music. If you're doing Courtney music, you've got me as a subscriber.

@@Grandpacarlreacts Her upcoming album will probably have a cover of Move Over on it. She's dropped hints that her originals might squeeze it out but I think she's having fun with her fans, who are always playing guessing games on her posts. Besides, she could drop it as a single before the album, but I think only originals there, so Janis cover on the album, my guess.

@@Grandpacarlreacts I agree that this performance was astounding, but it was also a special situation. She was honoring Clive Davis and his first signee Janis Joplin. However, in general, I think just the opposite. Courtney is a brilliant song writer and all the originals she has released have been sensational. I don’t think it’s in her best interests to perform any music except her own originals. One of the things that makes her so great is that Courtney can sing so many different styles equally exquisitely. Something Janis, and virtually every major artist in music, can’t do. I hope she continues to explore all music equally. I would never want to box that incredible voice into a limited number of genres.

Courtney's 1st time back on stage in 4 years. Partially due to Covid, but also partly due to her label trying to mold her into one of today's pop type singers. She stayed true to herself and held out until she got to call her own shots. Now an independent she's released 5 new originals already and album waiting to be released. All just what you'd expect from her. Not only rockers, she's into many genres and really creates her own style of music.
Here's her 2nd original release from last year that's quite unique. "That Girl Don't Live Here". ua-cam.com/video/RyILP4DPPTo/v-deo.html Upbeat, with a jazzy, swing flavor, yet still with that iconic rock belting style at times. She's going to be a big star soon enough. Her 1st new album of originals is being edited and mastered now. Should be out soon.
Enjoy, she's one of very few new artists I'll go see. Actually, I did go to that NY Pops concert just to see her. And there were a lot of big names like Santana, Mellencamp, Manilow, Warwick to mention just a few. She got a Standing Ovation to open the show, along with plenty of applause during her performance. Everyone loved her.

That is why she is at Carnegie Hall honoring Clive Davis, the man who discovered Janis. She loves soul music like this but she is much more varied than just this. There is an entire clip of this also. Courtney has done four covers of modern music and four original videos. After this, she is putting out her first album. There is a lot there to react to. I hope we hear from you and Courtz (Courtney).

Courtney has been an absolute powerhouse since she was nine or ten years old.
You should check out her cover of an Adele song, when she was around this age. It's here on UA-cam, with this title, ...
"Courtney Hadwin Covers Adele Rolling in the Deep just FANTASTIC!"
I would share the link, but it youtube might block the message.

. . . but I'm sure I understand why all the reactions I've seen are this 2 minute 16 second clip, which you did great. Yes this is her best setting, on stage, in front of a live audience, but have you heard the 5 original songs she released last year, the first 4 with offficial videos, Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here, Call Me Back, Monsters, and Christmas Rocks? There are also a bunch of great covers on her channel but all the originals were posted after she went independent, so there's no label blocking reactions. I think my personal favorite is Christmas Rocks but that's the one without a video, so if you want to do some more Courtney Hadwin reactions, I think I'd suggest Breakable: ua-cam.com/video/DOjyS5w1Ono/v-deo.htmlsi=wFfiEFscQRCisbcd
That Girl Don't Live Here: ua-cam.com/video/RyILP4DPPTo/v-deo.htmlsi=Q1tS7S_7Ok7cc9xK
      or Monsters: ua-cam.com/video/B1Xyw_uDXDI/v-deo.htmlsi=Zjc4GrUlhQe0weVX
Thank you for the great reaction to Courtney's great performance, Liked and Subscribed!
