But he stayed gone, as far as I know. Is it weird that I recognize a lot of the prostitutes? Drive a halfway nice car in these neighborhoods and they're all over you.

My own local city, Minneapolis has suffered a similar fate and I was fortunate enough to see what it once was, all the way back to the 1970's. It's pointless to argue with people who don't know how great, safe, clean, and prosperous these cities were once upon a time. People have no friggin idea how far these cities have fallen. It also means that they are not competent to judge the policies that on the surface appear to help but in reality are fueling the decline.
