I live in the Chandler Mowat area. and I'll be the first to admit, it's not the nicest area. Yes, most of the neighborhood are renters. The Eastern part going towards Westmount is worse i find in terms of crime. There is a lot of low income housing in that area. However the Western part that goes towards the Fire Station and the laurentian power center is a lot better. Most of the people who live here are immigrants and young people. It's a typical working class neighborhood. Yes it's a low income neighbourhood. But the people who live here are not bad people. They are working class families. The people here are normal. You see kids playing on the streets all the time. There are parks are hiking trails nearby. Grocery stores, within walking distance, the Tim Hortons on Strasburg is basically the local hangout. There is a Community Centre, with basketball courts, and community programs. Most people who talk about Chandler Mowat being this crime infested hellhole don't actually live there. It's the nicest area? No, but it's not as bad as everyone says.

I really do appreciate for sharing your thoughts. It's especially great to hear from someone who lives in the neighborhood. Whenever we point any neighborhood as good or bad, the idea is to provide an outsider with a general overview but never to judge individuals or families who reside in those neighborhoods. It is unfortunate that people generalise based on what is considered a general overview. Each neighborhood will have their own good and not so good sides. Thanks again. 👍
