This is EXACTLY what I needed to know to make the large name signs with the Glowforge basic! I knew the basic concept of dividing up the image, but not how to actually execute it. Thank you so much!

There’s a short UA-cam tutorial a found last year. I don’t remember the video. It does work in Inkscape.

Lovely video Troy! I’m a new follower. I’d suggest cutting a full letter of the letters that had to be cut. For instance, cut just the “u” to add to the entire “u” on the back. Hope this helps. I’ve learned so much from you and I’ll be purchasing a glowforge soon!

You can easily merge object and will clear up your merging lines instead of manually deleting things. (min 3)

Congratulations. I hope your as excited as I was! I use coreldraw they have your normal fonts installed. I know a lot of people use dafont.com for fonts.

Would the glowforge pro cut the name in one piece instead of 3 pieces?
Yeah as long as it is designed right.
What software do u use for the editing? I couldn’t hear it well
I use final cut pro x to edit.
How do you save and transport to glowforge and get it to print?
Export as .PDF and upload to Glowforge print

I get a lot of my fonts from the build in fonts on coreldraw and dafont.com

I have the basic. If you get the plus you would make it sort of like I made mines. You would have to get the Pro to make it one piece.

Hey. No you can’t buy a larger cutting tray. The Glowforge PRO is the only laser from Glowforge that can cut larger material through the pass through feature it has.

Would’ve been nicer to leave the intersecting lines and snap them together like a puzzle instead of sticking stuff on the back
I think that it works well the way he did it. Especially since he specifically made some areas where the command strips would attach to.
