Now this is the proper tone for a successful businessman who deserves respect and attention and didn't spend his fortune on lawyers to protect him from the consequences of his own malfeasance. This was a legitimately decent human being who knew how to treat others right, with kindness and grace, and without scorn and hatred.
Well, what about the fake frame ordeal fro the 90's where he ADMITTED to lying about " Losing " a stack of titles from the 60's so CA could reissue replacement titles that said 1965 ?
I wish I could have met him, people didn’t like him because he did what so many couldn’t and be successful. An automotive pioneer! Rest in peace Shelby!
@Killerconceptz I WOULD IMAGINE SHELBY did not care about your opinions (unless they were solicited). Did not care about your feelings, went with the flow.... UNLESS YOU GOT IN HIS WAY. " " " But it was a RESULT issue, NOT an EGO issue.
I remember my first trip to the US it was May 10, 2012 and we were in Vegas getting ready to go to Carroll Shelby's museum, hoping to see him, not knowing he was unwell. We were staying at the Paris hotel on the strip. I turned on the tv and saw that he had sadly passed away that day. We still went there. The mood was very low with the staff as expected. I couldn't help myself but I reached over the border ropes and touched every car on display. My mate was freaking out and said, you're going to get us kicked out. I replied that I don't care, I'm connecting with Carroll through his cars. No one said anything. It was surreal. I'll never forget that day.
I had no ideal he got a new Heart, and Kidney. I've been signed up as a donor since the kid in the hospital bed next to me died at 10, in 1983. It's a God awfull thing to watch. Back then it was a million dollar surgery. (why I believe we need Nation Health care) Dennis, you're the Greatest!
Was fortunate to briefly meet him at the Monterey Historics in 1989 when Aston Martin was featured. He was kind enough to autograph a book by either Denis Jenkinson that mentioned him, or by Peter Walker about the Aston team at the time (I can't recall, and I'm unboxing my old racing stuff lately so will find it again soon). I recall him being welcoming to all the fans as one sees in the vids. Godspeed Carroll Shelby!
The best thing I like about Carroll Shelby is the things that Jay Leno said he said he was friendly he was happy-go- lucky and he gave away a lot of money and he had a foundation that help people he doesn't sound like he can be all bad there is certainly a lot worse and he did make high quality Mustangs there can be no doubt about that and nobody else can do what he has done nobody

Unusual today! A good human being,
Not consumed by greed! Knows where it's at!😅😅

Seems like a humble and very likable guy. Would enjoy having a meal and conversation with him. Thanks for the interview.
@blakewilliams3702, I did just that many years ago in Daytona FL.
@@sergeantmasson3669Way Cool! Was he as down to earth as he appears in Dennis’ interview?

Thank you for the video! I think at 5:09 it's the person who has the channel "DragTimes", who also loves cars and he has a great collection of cars
Carroll loves cars AND Airplanes. He is part of our Band of Brothers and enjoys life as a result of his passion. WTG

Thank you, Dennis! Two Legendary Icons sitting in an American racing great! Only could be done by you, sir. Keep that stash in the wind!
If I could meet any 2 people from history it definitely would be Shelby and Henry Ford. Imo they are 2 of the greatest people to ever live.

Here, sign these 2 parts and number them so i can sell the cars for more money. And people said Carrol was greedy
He was fearless. He put took chances on people who a lot of people would not take chances on. Pete Brock was one those people. Ken Miles was another.
Amen, Liven the Dream!
A man on a mission, what a car builder way a head of his time 😮
He was such a great man, I only wish I could have met him.

What a great man he was!
❤very nice cars thanks God bless you❤
We all love his Mustangs, but while he was decorating with bling, Chrysler decorated with dog dish hub caps…and a hemi.
Yes, He wanted ALL the Horsepower.
My hero
Call a rich man greedy or a poor man stupid, we all know neither are true.
The Cobra should be in any serious car guys top 5
He was never a greedy person.
Until you find out that he had a stack of Cobra frames made in 1991 and called them original from 1965 . . .. .
