great video cost me near 400 pounds to get mine done,,,,,, i had tokeep removing nuber 8 fuse uder bonnet to stop them,,, you made it look so easy thank you
My mother in law makes baking a cake look easy. But I sure a heck can’t bake a cake 😂😂😂 I can hit my fair share of problems too, but thank you Michael 🙏🙏
@@drewy4799 in Ireland the switch is around €200 & most garages will charge around 3 to 4 hours to diagnose & replace it. So £400 doesn’t sound too far off the norm 🤔🤔
Great fix as usual Peter. I've replaced quite a few squibs and indicator stalks, I'm not as brave as you, I always disconnect the battery. Even then I still have visions of an airbag to the face lol looking forward to the next fix!
Hey Tony, truth be told I should be disconnecting the battery and allowing some time for the airbag module to go asleep. But I don’t know if I’m too lazy or just never had them deploy on me 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ Probably going to happen someday 😬😬
Wiper relay 1, short to battery +. This was being caused by the wiper switch fault, never switching off battery positive feed to the control circuit 😉👍👍👍
Nuce one Peter, my daughter made some cake 🎂 today , so i sampled it , 2 pieces 😂😂, nice video , amazing how much we get done with one hand in our job , crazy how tge other punter didnt want to spend money having the job done properly 😂, back to the grindstone tomorrow morning 😂😂
Well done to her, those cakes aren’t easy to make 😂😂😂 I hope you enjoyed the weekend & only another 4 days to go and we can get a bit of UA-cam time again. I have Mr. Dave Sterling call down to me this weekend, looking forward to that 🍻🍻
That Defender I mentioned, with electrical faults - turned out to have the entire rear loom burnt into a blob where it rubbed on the chassis - been 3 places before it came here, none noticed the loom was shorted into a hoop. Go figure, Peter. Electrics - always Fun. Good luck reading codes on that crazy stuff. P1234 - Loom shorted into a hoop, Lol.
Electrical faults are always easy to fix but finding the fault in the 1st place can be the problem. Hours, days or even weeks 😂😂😂 Well done on getting it sorted James 💪💪💪
@@kennedysgarage3281 Navara from down your way in now - I did a long shift on it today - it had the "Navara Killer" issue - rot between the spring hanger & the bodymount at the rear. That little piece puts more of them off the road than anything else as there's little access & no "Proper" way to repair. The Testers always condemn them as "Dangerous" & demand an engineers report. I spent ages, back a few years ago, templating that area of chassis to get a 5mm plate repair section that we could just weld in(admittedly access is a right sod but it's do-able) that spans the entire area & beyond - making the chassis stronger than factory. Without that repair section, no clue how you'd proceed. We now get Navaras in that have had every repair going - except that one sod of a spot - every fail sheet is the same - "Fail dangerous, rear chassis, nearside & offside" - there's great satisfaction in being able to pull a part you made yourself, off the shelf & get it fitted, saving another yoke from the scrappies. It's what gets me up in the mornings.
@@jamesward5721 wow, you must really enjoy it James when it gets you up and going all day on a Sunday. I used to do that but gave it up a few years back. I get fed up by Friday and pull the plug until Monday morning again 😬😬 Well done on making that template though. Sounds really handy 💪💪
Thank you for sharing, we've been looking for a fix for this problem for ages. It is so difficult to get this part as well. Would be good if you can let us know where we can get the radio code for the VW Polo if you don't have the code readily available. Thanks
Most radio codes are easily gotten from generic radio code generator companies. Just do a fast radio code search on Google, it costs €20 but you should get it in minutes 😉👍👍👍
Ok. You replaced it. It was the same solution applied by VW garage. Is there any real solution to REPAIR the existing one ? I strongly feel it is just a soldering issue.
@@snoopypeanuts9160 unfortunately for me the owners do not want to pay for me to disassemble a switch and fail. Or possibly fix the issue but it only works temporarily. So for me after 25 years of experience I just replace the broken part. Good value is when something works 🤔🤔
Hi there, I am currently carrying out this job on my 2015 Polo and I’m at the stage of un clipping the airbag with a flat head screwdriver. But I am struggling to do this. Any tips? Thank you in advance.
