This Glitch gives Sephiroth the HIGHEST JUMP in Smash Ultimate [SMASH REVIEW 135]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 вер 2024
- If Sephiroth gets his wing just as he jumps off his sword, he goes flying extremely high! In the clip it happened because of a weird glitch with Pokemon Trainer, but it can also with other attacks that don't interrupt his jump.

The Wing thingy with Sephiroth also happens vs Pyra/Mythra if he is a stock ahead he will always get his wing when he is above 80% and they swap.
Is it a swap in either direction? My guess on the pokemon logic was that switching to a more heavy pokemon makes them further from losing the stock, thus making Sephiroth "further behind" relatively. Switching from Mythra to Pyra would also be a light-to-heavy switch, but the reverse would be the opposite.
@@justinmullins1112 Yes. Just tried it to be sure, but it also happens if you switch from Pyra to Mythra.
@@Errorchan402 Interesting. It seems like based on how the swap mechanic works, the wing's formula is recalculated. Perhaps it's a simple oversight in the code where a certain variable(s) is affected by the swap and while factoring in the new entrant's relative weight, it doesn't reset to what you'd expect if PT or Pyra/Mythra returned to the original character. If so, it's very easy to fix.
Well, assuming it's not intentional. Or maybe Sephiroth has a hidden patience meter we don't know, and he gets very annoyed if his opponent keeps changing. :)
idk if it has anything to do with it, but he always got the wing when they swaped AND he stuck to the side of the stage using fair
@@tiffyw92 I wonder if swapping sets the percentage to 0 for a split second

I am assuming that the calculation behind the wing incorporates the opponent’s weight, as 70% with Charizard’s weight makes for a very different dynamic than 70% with Squirtle’s weight. I suspect that this also occurs when Mythra swaps to Pyra, but NOT when Pyra swaps to Mythra, as you’re lowering the weight rather than increasing it. You could try testing it that way.
Another comment says they tested the Pyra to Mythra switch and it still triggered it.
I think when characters swap, it briefly is acting as if they are just being brought into the game, at 0%.
I was about to suggest the exact same thing, but I see you beat me to it. Good job!
@@Jaythaking04 That would have a much more dramatic effect
Why do you guys think it’s weight dependent? This isn’t that complex or complicated of a mechanic. If he’s in a higher damage range or is down, just know that their algorithm is gonna check a bunch of cases and one of them could trigger wing lol.
That’s probably the best intro you’ve done.
I like the one where they dressed up as Russians
NotBae, the guy who submitted that first clip of Doc, has a UA-cam channel everyone should check out. His Mewtwo is absolutely sick, and he’s an all around great player and super chill dude!

Dude thank you guys for reacting to my clip. I smiled so big when you reacted to it. The clip I sent you guys was months old, long before Ganon and Falcon Up-B got buffed. That is why he couldn’t recover high against me. I hope you enjoyed watching it and I plan on sending more for you to watch 😊. Also sorry if this comment appears twice, as UA-cam keeps randomly deleting my comments 😢
Edit: I finally figured out what was deleting my comments lol. It’s all fixed now (hopefully)
Congrats!!!! It was a great clip :)

11:06 did anyone else notice that Ridley broke the platform but didn't fall
I'm the guy who submitted that clip and the Ridley player. I was kind of shocked it worked. Was fully expecting some kind of janky free fall animation to happen for sure haha
@@LoneNinja115 lol i must say nice play my guy. That's not an easy move to read
Hey CFive and vyQ! During a match, Pokemon Trainer swaps with any of the 3 pokemon, the more they do it against Sephiroth, the sooner Sephiroth will get his one-winged form. This is because of how each characters (Sephiroth and PT) are dealing percents. Hope this helps!
Where's your profile picture from?
So it's like Joker + PT doubles pre-patch? Where you could switch pokemon and each time Arsene better gets a big charge
Wtf you didn't explain anything
@@YounesLayachi I think OP meant that the swap mechanic also affects the "percents", but we don't see it being dealt. As mentioned above, it happened with Joker in an early patch.
Either that, or the wing's formula also includes swaps as a factor somehow. Not sure if it's intended to be like this, though.
12:58 I think what’s happening is because the stage shook right when sonic landed the game didn’t know how to process that and he just kept going
Holy crap Lois, I'm in Smash Review! Seriously hyped to see my item combo made it in and to see that you liked it. The other DK had 30% because I had to move him out of the way.
Moving up in the world, aren't we Kirbo?
Regarding the anvil on the F-Zero stage:
- It is the only thing in the game that stays on the racetrack itself. Anything else will either be hit (fighters, assists, PACMAN hydrant, etc.) whilst items will just instantly disappear into smoke upon contact, similar to items disappearing if they are left idle on the stage for too long.
- Anvil is the only thing that doesn't follow this rule, probably because it is treated as floor and as such has special properties (I am guessing since it is coded to be interactable as a small platform).
- Steve's regular blocks can't be placed on the track since the specific stage's block placing grid does not reach the track, they cannot be built at all from my testing for the clip.
- The anvil also disappears off the side when pulled right against the blast zone, which removes it from under Steve's feet and as such Steve is hit by the track.
- The anvil has no active hitbox when on the track; this is because the track is still "floor" as far as the game is concerned, so the anvil lands and lacks the aerial hitbox.
- The anvil pretty much follows the stage's track, and the effect is greatest when going around corners of the track in particular.
you can stand in the track while invincible
Wow, that's super interesting. I wonder why they decided to design it that way instead of just having a floor that hurts you. I guess they made the stage work similarly to Mute City, but even then it doesn't look quite the same.
12:59 That's some brawl sonic spindash glitches right there haha

God I can't wait.
Sephiroth acquires wing at 80% if his stocks and his opponent's stocks are equal. If Sephiroth has more stocks than his opponent, then he will acquire wing higher than 80%.
I wonder if there's something about the PT switch mechanic that briefly assumes the stocks are equal. When this occurs, Sephiroth's Wing Mechanic checks the percentage difference. Assuming that my hypothesis on the PT switch mechanic is correct, then this would make sense. Although, this shouldn't happen.
I can only think about the weight, it's getting higher when he swaps from squirtle to ivysaur
Locario also gets an aura bonus if he’s behind in stocks, so that could be used to test this. Given the tiny amount of time you’d have to do an attack, and the fact that we don’t know if aura attacks snapshot or not, it’d be really hard to test
I can think about the two Pokémon coexisting as 2 opponents for a brief moment during the swap
Pit: How can you fly with one wing?!
Sephiroth: why can't you fly with two?
Pit: T.T
this pne is for sure on the top 6 smash review intros
Smash ultimate has melee potential with all this tech. In like 8 years we might find out some godly tech and that would be dope
The Wing is also based on the weight of the enemy, that‘s why it works with pyra/mythra and pokemon trainer.
The sonic thing used to happen in brawl a lot. If you had the slopes from the custom stages and he used his side special off it like a ramp, he’d just go perfectly horizontal off the edge, just spinning through midair like he was on an invisible platform.
i think when seph threw Duck Hunt, the dog wouldn't have hit the can if he didn't get extended on the mexican gunner guy. The extention gave the can time to go out and back down, but if he got thrown right away he might have been too low.
I believe the wing thing happens because of weight, squirtle, ivisaur, and charizard all have diferent weights, with squirtle being the lightest and ivisaur being heavier, and charizard being heaviest, some also point out that it happens with pyra and mythra, and the same applies, mythra is lighter than pyra, is just by 6 units, but it's still a diference, so basically, the wing appearing or not is also determined by the opponent's weight.
I like the Ryu "Don't Move" Clip.

FF7 Physics on Sephiroth is definitely fitting and normal 😂
man these outros are crazy good
Sonic Side-B: Zero Gravity
this is one of my favorite intros again
What I'm guessing here is:
When there is a swap the coding probably leads the character at 0% and then that 0% is replaced with the previous % of the other character. So for a moment, that character is treated as 0% which triggers the comeback mechanic wing of Sephiroth.
babe wake up new smash review just dropped
Guys the wing came because he started falling off the stage toward bottom blast zone.. Hence , game thought he was in disadvantage. Hence, he gets the wing
Spit my drink at a chick fil a on the intro. 🤣
That FZERO intro was awesome

After October, we can see clips from Nickelodeon All Star!
Def one of the better intros
Sephiroth's canonical jump
this was best smash stage intro for smash review, it was
"Mewtwo is such a Opfer bro"
That really caught me of guard
i feel like the sephiroth thing happens because when characters that can switch, switch the game thinks they’re losing a stock (even though they aren’t). almost similar to like a respawn mechanic but they spawn at the same % instead of 0. and with the super jump it’s probably adding both the heights of a normal double jump and a winged double jump together. (they may or may not be the same height im not sure)
"mewtwo is such an Opfer dude" lol
you should def have a shirt that says "WAT WAS DAT!?"
The intro edit was godlike
keep up the good work for smash bros.
This glitch gives Sephiroth the HIGHEST JUMP in Smash Ultimate
Snake and Jigglypuff:
LOL I LOVE JUST LOVELY OCCURRENCES IN THIS GAME
Luigi can still jump higher by doing absolutely nothing
(0:30) Took you 135 episodes before you presented yourselves
I liked because of the opening skit. It was great.
it prob has to do with the fact that seph was up a stock. (one thing about the wing, is it is a "on - off" switch) so long, as there is a single [instance] of "code" were the wing be **checked** to be of required {dmg %} to activate. it will active. i imagine, the game codes the [PT "switching"] as... *adding a "ivysaur" {*stock* character representation model} and removing a "squirtle" one.. but, the (character representation model, is kinda like a stand alone entity. **) so either, it literally adds a [ invisiable ivy model.. then.. removes the 'visable' squirtle** model... ] or [when the "ivy" model get {input} into the [stage veiw] ] for a **momentary instance** the (ivy,, character representation model) is regarded as a *unverified* *entity* (thereby, unchecked of stock count *stock icon has not changed yet**) just before, the game {puts ivy in *changes stock icon*} it *checks* the """stocks"""" it should have.
i respect the insight, but holy shit this is too much for my brain to process lmao

9:12 If you could stop kaclang on command it would be broken. Kaclang makes people completely invincible.
How to fix Kaclang: make the endlag be + - 0 frames. This way, neither Hero nor the opponent has the frame advantage. (Although shieldbreakers would technically win in this situation.)
Excited for all star brawl content
The wing appears cause of the lofe diference because sephiroth usually gets the wing around 80% but if he is 1 life ahead of the opponent he gets it around 90-100 but the swap makes him get it before for some reason
Shoutout NotBae less gooooo
Love these guys and their awesome vids!!!!
I remember Kirby's rock also worked on the f-zero stage in smash 4. Never tried in ultimate.
Can't wait for BNASBD
My theory as to why sephiroth gets the wing when PMT swapped is probably because spehiroth was off the ledge and closer proximity to the blast zone.
Well u wrong
@@Zarzaned if you have the answer i'm dying to know
@@The4gotNdeathin a normal match if sephiroth gets up to 80% or more without already gaining his wing when pkmn trainer or pyra/mythra swap they will activate the wing

On the topic of Kaclang for Hero. How about give Hero the ability to cancel it if he is hit? Or give it a hit box to use at a Kirby Rock/Anvil like move?

Hab ich ehrlich gesagt nicht bemerkt
sick intro for sure… that was clever
I love the intro 😂😂
Where's the intro where one of them is a Kaiju in the background of the Pyra/Mythra stage??
No, sephiroth one wing can come out slightly delayed after reaching threshold
Every video I always see something that I’ve never seen in ultimate
The intro was actual fire 🔥
Swap thing looks like it only works when you are using F-air in the wall
I'll Walt for that nickstars brawl review 👌
Maybe it also takes into account the fact that Sephiroth was off-stage/closer to the blast zone.
I think what happens with PT is the winged form takes into account weight. So switching from squirtle to ivy puts you more at a disadvantage because ivy is heavier.
That's my theory.
I guess that’s a good theory. But it’s something to do with the fair sticking to ledge.
