When he first signed for Forest from Coventry his hair was shoulder length but some matches later he came out onto the pitch with an Anthony Perkins haircut as in the film Psycho. The Trent end supporters immediately started to call out Psycho repeatedly and the name stuck.
I was at this match and other supporters attending that match will confirm this is what happened.
