cool vids man,i have one of these and what i did was build a battery box off of the steering counsol on the floorboard,it works pretty decent.

Hey you might could leave the stock tank setup in there, and put the battery where you talked about. Then you could cut a side acess door to get to the battery that you could close up and latch. Just an idea. Great vid, cant wait for more.

You said you dont want anything out the back of that machine- but what about above the motor? Build an angle iron frame and put either the stock tank or the craftsman tank in it like most go karts do. The gravity feed would would help keep the carb fed, and under the seat would be WIDE open for a mower or even a car battery if you wanted.

Cool, its a neat little rider. I HAD thought of the battery on the floor board, but I don't want it there.

Yeah, I want it there, just got to ponder a bit on how to do it and still have the seat support.

That mtd is the twin to the white rear 1990 rider I have one of the whites and it runs and looks great!

I had thought of that a few days ago, but... I am thinking I might put a utility basket/cargo bed behind the seat, above the motor now. I had more ideas about the gas tank/battery layout last night, just wait and see what I am coming up with!!

I was going to suggest some sort of slick sliding battery tray that would come out the side. but that might be too complicated. Cut a hole in the side where the battery originally went, turn that into a door with hinges, then have the battery slide out on rails or something cool.

I am going to work on them this fall here and there. I'll post videos of the build.

Ehh, I am a fan of original sheet metal and paint. I don't want to alter the body. It is a good idea though, I give you credit for that.

Hey, I bought one like this used, and I need to get replacement belts. Where would I find the model number on this thing?

I agree on the side door comment

Thats what I ended up doing. Its cramped for foot space, but screw it. It runs, it drives, its crappy!

Hey hot rod do you still have that z rider? If so I might be interested. I have a running john deere 317 with hydraulics that I never use . If you could slap a different motor in the z turn i may have a deal for you

  • @76hotrodF250
    @76hotrodF250  11 років тому

Unfortunately I still have the Z rider. I normally wouldn't mind a trade like that, but also unfortunately, the Z rider is part owned by another buddy of mine now due to trading, a mistake I should have never done. I have to sell the snapper for cash only, to make my buddy happy. Also, I don't have any engines to slap on it, selling it as is.

Yeah, alot suggested a side door. Thats too much work for a crappy mower. I ended up putting it on the floor board. I didn't want, but ehh, I wanted it drivable.

U could cut a hole in the side and put a door where it would be easy

If I were you i'd keep that wheel on the front for shits and giggles!

Dang. Well you know where a deere is at if you ever find something you want to trade for it.

  • @FAL0perator

Also sucks you cant trade the guy for the deere! I got a 318 that i wouldn't trade for anything, and his has HYDRAULICS!! Give your buddy a couple bucks someday and call it good lol!
