The evolution of Ahsoka's character from The Clone Wars, to Rebels, to The Mandalorian is just so epic to see. After witnessing the fall of Anakin to the dark side in s7 of The Clone Wars, then facing him in Rebels was just so much on her she ended up going rogue. This is one of those characters that the writers put so much effort into, and one with a truly good backstory. It reminds me of Jaesa Willsaam from SWTOR.
In the backstage shooting of this episode, someone asked why they didn't use Ahsako Tano before? He said, "I wanted to, but I didn't want to mess it up". He obviously spent a lot of time studying the character and brainstorming about how to blend her into the Mandalorian storyline smoothly. And this is the result of such determination and respect for your work.
I would say "Hold my blue milk" but thankfully the second season of Mandalorian retconned the sequel trilogy into an alternate timeline. So hopefully Luke will be spared the milking scene in the prime timeline.
@@ryanjones2297 I hear they are contemplating doing to it what GoT fans wish they could do to season eight...have it be some nasty nightmare that never happened.
@@danagiles5100 One alternative discussed is The World Between Worlds where Ezra saves Ahsoka, who survives to tell Mando to take Grogu to Tython, who calls to Luke, who saves Grogu (and Mando's team) from the Empire. Grogu becomes Luke's first Padawan. Luke gains some on-the-job experience by training Grogu before Ben Solo becomes his Padawan too. Basically in this theory the sequel trilogy is an alternative timeline which kicks into effect when Ahsoka dies in the Sith temple.
11:06 Not a Space Western, but Space Yojimbo. 14:19 Second time a Michael Biehn character has lost in a quick draw gunfight; the first was Johnny Ringo vs. Doc Holliday in Tombstone.
Massive props to Dave Filoni, it is clear that he has always had a clear vision of what Ashoka was and has become. I truly hope that she appears again in the series or that this episode serves as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff. Perhaps that is where we will get the full story of her search for Ezra, Sabine and Thrawn. Disney would be an utter fool not to back that type of live action series. These two shows( if they continue on this path) could easily save the franchise from oblivion. That and clean house starting with Kennedy.
What blew my mind was watching behind-the-scenes footage, and seeing that Ahsoka's lightsabers had on-set LED's. Whatever digital touch-ups they did were relatively minor. It was as close to real lightsabers as you could get.
The only 2 I really wanted to see survive were asage ventriss and ahsokha tano.....ventriss sadly didn't but apparently ahsoka survived her duel with vader
What really makes this channel from other reaction collection channels is how they cut to each of the reactors on key/great scene and moments. Instead of everyone's one by one or so forth of other styles. Plus like most of them and am subscribed to a few of the and always am waiting after a new episode of Mandalorian is made; of course watching it first before coming here. Fav part is everyone's hype on the orange queen...so good.
So true. The editing is top notch. It flows so well and seamlessly, and it sometimes makes it seem like everyone is in the same room watching together without the overlap.
@@danagiles5100 well, this time he kept his helmet on. Did anyone else notice in the season finale that the Dark Trooper tried to crush Mando’s skull, like Prince Oberon in GoT, but couldn’t because of the beskar helmet? That was a really nice callback to Pedro’s former role.
This episode is still one of the best pieces of modern Star Wars out there. And we did indeed get Thrawn in Ahsoka. And his entrance was awesome! I can’t wait to see more of him in Mandalorian and Grogu or Ahsoka s2.
I love that Jon and Dave, know so much about the legends material. Specifically about Mandalorian Beskar, and it being one of the primary reasons, Mandalorian society became so feared throughout the lore and mythology of the Star Wars universe. Although in legends, (where Beskar was initially talked about), lightsabers can eventually cut through it after repeated, or concentrated hits to a specific spot. Beskar can take quite a few saber hits before it does, depending on the skill of the saber user. There's a ton of really cool info in legends about Mando history, and it's cool how Dave, Jon, and their teams have been lacing into this series. It's not necessary to understand the main plot, but it makes it more interesting for sure. Anyway I'll stop nerding out about it. Love the channel, it's cool to see Star Wars fans excited about the direction it's going in again.

hasn't anyone noticed, when Ahsoka mentioned Master Yoda, suddenly the music plays a bit of Yoda's Theme, so softly but calming. I mean, the background music was in dark theme, when Ahsoka explain Mando about the demise of Jedi Order. When she came to Master Yoda, the music theme changed into rather calming theme, and it's Yoda's Theme.. Love this episode!
Snips, as always, is amazing and kicks much ass! To have this episode right after seeing Bo-Katan, right after seeing Boba, and the setup for the next is to much to handle. This show is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Diana Lee Inosanto, who portrayed Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth (who battled with Ahsoka Tano) grew up surrounded by the martial arts world, studying many forms, including Jeet Kune Do and Eskrima, which she learned from her father, Dan Inosanto, a student of Jeet Kune Do founder Bruce Lee, who was also her godfather.
Ahsoka could have totally trained him. If she was truly afraid of his training she wouldn't let anyone train him. I feel like she was just too focused on her own personal mission. We have to remember "She is no Jedi"
I love how this one everyone was like "This was the best episode" and then they were bawling when Luke appeared. The whole show just get better with every episode
So many similarities, it had to be a nod to Tombstone. Both Ringo and Lang die facing off with an adversary they knew was superior, hence their caution and noticeable fear. Both Western-style gunfights. And Michael Biehn said very similar lines in each: "Fight's not with you, Holliday." vs "I got no quarrel with you, Mandalorian." I wonder if he had any say in that part of the script.
For the one guy who was wondering if Thrawn was still around and still part of the Empire: read the Timothy Zahn novels. They take place 5 years after the fall of the Empire, just as this series does (roughly). Those are the books which first introduced the character.
16:35 Tython is the birthplace of the Jedi Order, btw. You can visit the planet on SW: The Old Republic (SWtoR), the MMORPG released in 2011 by EA/BIOWARE.

I remember that at one point, I watched a Mandalorian episode and realized that it was the best one ever. Better than the last movies. And that it was impossible for it to be better. And then the next episode proved me wrong. And the next one, and the next one… Best Star Wars series evah!!!

I would also be happy and celebrate the day Kennedy gets escorted from the property. I hear Ahsoka is getting a series of her own.
It's a given. Series is announced.

My favorite line: "This is a HUGE change in merchandising!" That is *so* Star Wars fandom.
What blew my mind was watching behind-the-scenes footage, and seeing that Ahsoka's lightsabers had on-set LED's. Whatever digital touch-ups they did were relatively minor. It was as close to real lightsabers as you could get.
This just shows how much we love Ahsoka, and why she will be forever the best female character in the franchise.

Actually, I should’ve written this time he had a helmet…. Poor Prince Oberon.
Only those of us with brains.

Chapter 13: The Nerdgasm. 👍🏼
For a girl who is obsessed with Asoka she was practically the only one who didn’t realize the “owl”
Ahsoka could have totally trained him. If she was truly afraid of his training she wouldn't let anyone train him. I feel like she was just too focused on her own personal mission. We have to remember "She is no Jedi"

"Why Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave."
