I think it takes a mature person to realize when you need help. It also takes a humble person to ask for assistance loan included. I wish you continued success. I look forward to the day you can show a larger home that your growth has enabled. With smiles on your children’s face and joy for your wife.
Björn is a good guy i am here since the beginning and some people are quick to judge without even making an effort to fully understand the whole topic. Those people will judge any person even their partner probably - so really björn dont lose any sweat over those people. The brain tends to judge easily but i felt you just expressed the situation which was totally okay. Looking forward for some good EV videos ;)
@@johnair1 it's also very good to see that Bjorn knows the people who actually are there for him are those behind the scenes and are quiet about it, not those who immediately start dissing in the comments without understanding the situation and trying to be as loud as possible about their hatred. Those people just want attention. It's another very clear case of maturity to see past that and makes me glad to be a supporter of the channel.
@@ashton9699 i support anybody that is decent and hard working and he is part of that!
Jeg har sett på videoene dine i årevis, jeg har kjøpt EL-bil (Kia E-Niro og VW E Up) etter dine tester😃🏎️ du gjør en fantastisk jobb Bjørn!
Tack!

Bedankt
I'm really glad you have a way forward on this. I am sure at times having a partner will be uncomfortable. But change doesn't come easy just like with this wonderful house you have. I think giving a little back to locals would be great. I don't know if maybe you can help with owners clubs more as you have in past. Tesla has helped a lot but I know a lot of other brands have really stepped up (at least in Europe) for EVs. Showing those brand communities some attention would be ok too.
As much as I know you, which I really don't but UA-cam makes it like you do know someone... I think you do your best and your videos are invaluable when it comes to new EV owners. Those looking for an upgrade to a new or even used EV can get lots of good information. You are well trusted and even in the videos that don't look so positive show you want to uphold that trust.
We can talk more about my new partner in the follow 1000 km live streams. Many people here are skeptical but I know I found the right guy. As I said in the video, I have known him for many years and I know what he's capable of. My viewers don't know who he is.
Bjørn, keep the data free and sell merchandise. Test used cars and family friendly cars like the new id buzzseven seater and grx version. Is it better then the old short version.❤ from us viewers!
Your data has value. You should create a homepage where the data can be presented nicely. You can also include ads and merchandise on such a website. Do not put your data behind a paywall; that would be so sad.
Ruin the whole aspect of his channel
That's what I have told him the other day, but deep dive data should definitely be put behind a paywall:
A website where people can read a text format of your videos, make guides, with a forum and have it community driven.
Viewers like data. Do a 2 euro membership (or 100 for business & press), and members can upload OBD datalog to make a database. Aggregate data is free, need to be a member to view full data. Members sharing data get awarded membership extension.
Make merch, not linked to the brand but something a random person would buy.
Many successful creators have passive income like this, and Bjorn's viewerbase is very loyal.
I don't see any negative aspect to give access to the data for 1$ a month as a patreon for example.
Can’t help much from Brazil, your vídeos are always helping and great content. Keep up! Don’t worry about paying Back. You already give us very much. I’m using your Ora PID list in Car scanner at my ora here in Brazil.

Thanks!
Real life range and degradation testing with cars under 50k € are the most interesting in my opinion.
And covering repairs and associated cost. Coming up with cost effective solutions to an expensive fix.
well ...a lot of cars are under 50k if they r second hand :P
Under 30k EUR for a used BEV is far more interesting, 50k is still way too much for an average working person/household in Europe.
Thanks. This is the least I could do after enjoying your videos for years.
Bjorn, also remember to take care of yourself, one of the best ways to care about you beautiful ladies is to be happy and healthy.
EV Thai helping fellow EV Thai! Kop Khun Krap🙏
Thank you :)
Battery degradation and range on older EV's are the most fun and informative videos for new possible EV owners. Big thumbs up for your work 👍👍👍 and big thanks from Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹
Agreed, try to cut down the review of the expensive (€60-70K+) EVs; not only is the market small but those quite rich (non Tesla) buyers aren’t likely to do all this research on UA-cam. The market for the “normal guy/girl” looking for an affordable EV/ second hand is way bigger.
Entertainment cost i have had a lot of fun and plenty good laughter. Especially from your trips around Norway. Visit Norway should bee one of your sponsors. How nice that it worked out for you, I’m really glad!
I would love for you to get a merchandise shop, T-shirts, coffee mugs, stickers with quotes!
I would happily pay a subscription to follow you, I would easily pay 2-3 euros a month.
And as I mention before you are my No1 UA-camr!
It would be really interesting for you to make more degradation tests on used cars, I have a Skoda enyaq coupe rs with 30000km 6 months old and it already has 8-9% degradation. 👎 Skoda confirmed this.
For me now, I would be interested to buy a secondhand used electric car as my second car, and it would be nice to know what cars to go for.
And I will send you an email about painting your garage, but as you said, it’s low priority and your inbox is probably already full of messages so I wait a couple of weeks.
Take care
Takk!
I really enjoyed the Nimber delivery videos you made many years ago. Perhaps you can do something similar to test the towing capabilities of various vehicles. Could be videos of you towing a camper while on vacation or deliver goods from your subscribers or Patreon members. What I enjoyed were the adventures you experienced while making those deliveries and interactions with people along the way.
Camping life with a family, towing a camper with an electric car. That would be something new. You'd have no competition in that field.
I like to see more videos on driving most economically with the cars. What are the best ways to keep consumption as low as possible. That said, I'm glad everything is working out for you and your family.
Ok, more Sunday driving then.
@@bjornnylandNot just sundaydriving, how to reduce consumption while maintaining high average speed is the holy grail. Slowing down uphill and accalerating downhill is one solution. I'm sure you have lots more ideas. Test that

Hope you are not forgetting if you sell part of company for 1.3 million, you are liable for taxes. While forming the company, company should also take ownership of the loan, so no money gets out of the company for you to be not liable for taxes.
@serdar142 valid point. I guess there are not a lot of taxable values in the ENK, which will be continued when converting to an AS. So almost the whole sales price will be liable for taxes, meaning approx. 808k NOK after taxes.
Yes, I know about the tax. My future partner mentioned it.

Great that a workable solution is found.
I started following you back in 2015 after I ordered my Tesla.
I enjoyed your roadtrips and all the challenges you encountered finding a charging spot. Maybe it is an idea to redo one of the roadtrips and show what is changed in the past decade. A bonus would be if you could redo this with Millennium Falcon. Although that car is now over 10 years old, I guess it will still be able to complete the trip. Probably you will worry more about the car than finding a charging spot
Great Idea!
He can borrow Millenium Falcon if he want to. Me and my wife drive it daily :)
I would buy a “A B C” shirt immediately 😂
Oh yes please
@@rhydlew Oh that would be SO Bjørn 😂
Races with Pavel is fun! Driving two cars or more at the same time is quite fun to watch and takes out all things that isn’t cotrollable.
Things i think we still dont know enough about with EV: Towing efficiency
AC charging: what are the onboard chargers like, any quirks or speed differences?
More used and second hand stuff which is becoming more important.
Id like to see these things
This video got me right in the feels. I knew the community would help. All the best to you and your family, the business angel and all who donated and offered to help!
Glad you read my comment and I am happy that you resolved it. I never doubted that you love your family. But somehow, I see in my surroundings that people work overtime after overtime, neglecting emotionally their children, who become unhappy adults just because their parents wanted luxury in life. Children don't want dat (at least until 12 y/o when the start to get spoilt by their "friends". I would appreciate, on behalf of all children if all people reading this keep this in mind. Time and love is more important than money for kids.
Amen
As a Finn, I’d like to drive with my EV to Norway. But I don’t know what apps I need and how well the charging networks in Norway function for travellers. It would be nice if you can make a video of that?
Easiest way is to use Tesla SuperChargers. There are so many nowaydays that those are all you need. You can buy the cheaper Tesla prices with 9,90€/month if you are not a Tesla owner.
His sponsor, A Better Route Planner and Tesla SpCs are indeed the way to go.
As a Finn who just had a trip to Norway I can recommend Ionity
@@ErikVeijola I think my Kona is way too slow for Ionity chargers, so price wise it would probably cost quite a lot.
I was just there and with the exception of charging overnight at one camping site, I can say that Tesla Superchargers were more than plentiful. Many many sites had Ionity, too. Check out your planned routes for chargers and you get an idea.
Id love to see a side by side (or if not possible a videoseries) of all the new sprinterclass e transporters. E-Master, e-sprinter, e-ducato and so on. What is theire loading and towing capabilities, what driver assistance do they have, how fast can they tow 1000km, how much onboard power for campinggear do they deliver (a inductionstove could easyly draw over 3kw), Addable weight, curbweight, loading speed and all the data you couldnt find online (or just untrustable marketing numbers)
Glad you found this solution, I think it’s a better route than loaning money at 10% interest rate. I would suggest that you include in your agreement with your partner an option to separate, so you don’t lose your channel if something with them goes south.
Tip for video:
15 Things you should know about road triping EV in norway, then you take the 5 most popular ev cars in norway. and make a list. pros and cons. change faster. find changer (paning rute). range, consumption, coldgating, 50KW changer vs 150kw. what app to have, etc
Been following you for many years.....i am so happy you have found a solution to the problem. Not many people have the courage to take on building such a beautiful house. Well done for making it work. Keep going, thank you for all your hard work and guidance in EVs. Its priceless, empiric information and is testement to your hard work. Huge thank you once again.
Races with Pavel were always super exciting! I'd love you to bring those back ❤️
With jørgen winter-larsen were also goed. ❤ #Tesla sauna 🤣🤣
Selling equity in your company is a better move than taking more personal loans from viewers.
Im a norwegian and I rooted for u and hope for the best. Not every norwegian is like that, bit harsh taking everyone in one comb😢
Why do you assume he said all norwegians are like this?
"I had no idea norwegians could be so mean", that means some of us, not all. It's a pretty common thing to say about many different nationalities.
Recommend electric vehicle for different budget groups since you have the huge data base of spec.
I think that's too complex if you wanna narrow it down to 1-3 cars, because there are so many use-cases. I think his spread sheet tables are already a great help for people who really wanna know what fits their needs.
I am sure that you are a kind-hearted person, Bjørn. It takes a lot of bravery and courage to admit on UA-cam that you made a mistake. I admire you for that!
So keep up all the good work, and I look forward to many new EV videos in the future on your channel.
Wishing you continued success Bjorn. You are my favourite EV UA-camr.
Hope everything works out. I saw Kyle Conner say ABC (Always Be Charging) in a recent video, your influence is spread far and wide...
He watches this channel a lot. He also said holy macaroni a few times lol
Kyle definitely respects the channel. Was watching a Polestar video of his and he said he'd charge "TeslaBjörn style"
Bra video Björn!👍 Sluta aldrig med noice test, headlamp test, sunday driving. Du är såå bra på detta🌹 trevlig helg🙏skönt det löste sig för er.
More collaboration with Kris Rifa and Pavel please. Miss all your racing and nimber task videos. Basically miss all your old videos that aren’t the normal challenge videos of new cars (1k km, sunday, charging etc)
15% interest rent is not a decent level. I would think 7-9 would be as you approximately get for a car loan in sweden. Not think interest rents differ so much between Sweden/Norway.
You asked for test idea. Regen test: Drive an EV uphill (Holmenkollen in Oslo?) Write down the guessometer km at the top. Roll downhill while controlling the speed only with regening, no physical braking. Keep it at 25 km/h or below to avoid air resistanse from disturbing the experiment. Write down km how far you rolled. Turn around and drive back the same road uphill. Also slow. Stop when the guessometer reaches the same km you had at the top. How many km, or percent, or perhaps altometer meters, did you now drive uphill compared to the whole stretch? That's the regen percent of the car. You won't reach the top of course, no EV has 100% regen. I'm guessing around 25-35% for many. Early sunday mornings are best to avoid traffic disturbances and you having to engage the physical brakes, all braking should be regen braking if at all possible. If a physics student or professor could ride along with you that would be a video I and perhaps many would watch 🙂
Good call. He has done these and Thailand but it would be interesting in a cold climate. No heat issues just see how efficient regen is for different cars. How much benefit it gives
I'm glad that you received a lot of support after presenting your situation.
30% of your business does seem like a HUUUUGE percentage however for a single investment, and hopefully that can be negotiated down before a final agreement.
Let's calculate: 1.3M NOK is 131k USD.
It puts your company valuation at 436k USD Total.
Based on not only your revenue but your profit so far, that doesn't seem on point.
I sorry for the hater, please don’t let them bring you down. Keep your head up
I hope that no one is acting like a hater . We all make mistakes . Every one of us . I myself ended up going through bankruptcy 10 or so years ago because of going overboard with nice big house and fancy cars . I learned my lesson and moved on . UA-cam seems to bring out the cowards that like to hide while opening there big , judgmental mouth’s .
I’m sorry to hear about the challenges, but this video is a relief. Hoping everything goes well from here. We are excited to see some merch from your channel! I need an Always Be Charging shirt!
I'm super happy that you have found a solution. May your successes always be bigger than your failures and mistakes. Onwards and upwards!
Glad you found a way to ease the financial pressure. I’ve been watching since the early Model S days and love your content. Some of my favorite videos are races and long trips up north. ❤
Testing of used cheap EVs are the most interesting part.
All the best Björn, I'm happy things are looking up and you are getting all the financial things sorted. It's also extremely valuable that you will get a partner for your company. Having a business partner means you can discuss business and strategic choices with someone who knows how your business works and who has "skin in the game" and directly relevant experience, which is much better than trying to filter the good advise from bad from the viewers or having to figure it all out alone, which I can only imagine is super-stressful.
And about monetisation: your channel and your work, all the data etc. is a treasure trove for all ev drivers and there are definitely ways in which you can monetise the channel better, without losing any of your credibility and independence. Merch, speaking gigs, consultations, sponsored videos or segments etc. We all know your professional opinion is not for sale and your approach is so data-driven and based on objective measurements anyway that nobody thinks poorly if you move a bit closer to what every other youtube channel does already in terms of including sponsors. Just a wacky idea, how about selling naming rights to your test segments, e.g. The Kempower 1000k Challenge or the Rema1000 Banana Box Test? :)
I wish you all the best Björn! You have an awesome channel
Wonderful that something positive has come out of this bad situation. Looking forward to seeing the channel grow.
I hope this gives you peace and bandwidth for the family… and of course to create the content we love ;-)
Hey Bjorn, love your videos. I have been watching you for a couple of years now. But I kind of miss the old days style video. They were more "wild" and unscripted. Here are my suggestions for content
- Off roading. Test dual motor cars. How these engines behave, when 4wd engages. Definitely a lot of potential in the winter.
- Races or cooperation videos. Pawel and other guys
- High speed (autobahn) tests
- Technology deep dives. How things work (motors, ac, battery conditioning). This can be done as coop with your partners like Elbilmek, as they have the expertise and workshop
- Repair videos. How it's done, how much it costs
- Car accessories (sponsorship)
- Generally more sponsorship to keep you afloat
- Merchandise. Long overdue to be able to buy merch with your epic quotes.
- Website. Make your test results in nice representative form. You are THE MAN when it comes to collected data
Takk for godt innhold, setter pris på arbeidet du gjør.

Hi Bjorn, I am glad you have found a solution, it must have been really difficult producing content while having this burden at the back of your mind. I do really enjoy artic circle, Lofoten and north cap trips and I would like to see more of those since the charging network is now way more developed then a few years back. I do appreciate that this wouldn't be easy given your family situation, kids and wife. All the best going forward.
I always enjoy your channel. It is so exciting that you have a new alliance in the pipeline. You have a beautiful new house, congrats.

Thank you for being so open, it takes really big balls to do so! Happy for you and your familie ❤
I'm really happy for you. You and your channel are so important for the turnaround in drive technology - in so many countries. Who buys a BEV without first seeing your 1,000 km challenge (and other videos) about this vehicle? I'm really excited to see what's going to change on your channel - and that's really meant to be extremely positive. When making merch, please also think about the large sizes, because many other UA-camrs don't have that on their radar. Oh yes, what I remember as extremely positive in the comments in the previous video was the idea of entering into a kind of “temporary partnership” with the UA-cam channel “Out of Spec”. There are potentially another 200,000+ subscribers to your channel and the owner of the channel is obviously watching your videos since the content partially overlaps. Don't let the haters get you down, they exist under almost every video. We'll read about it in the next live stream... Best regards from Germany!
Just commenting to show my support! You are great Bjørn. The haters love to comment on other people's failures. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Failing is a part of life. We all do mistakes and/or miscalculations. Good you found a solution! :)

Don't you have a new house and EV in Thailand too?
Hey Björn,
Been following you for a long time. I love your video’s, especially banana box test and range tests. You are the most important EV data builder in the whole Tesla and EV community. Ignore the haters, there will always be jealousy and hate, especially on the internet where people feel comfortable judging. You are a hard working top tier Tesla UA-camr and we should be supporting you all the way. Good luck with your new business partner and take your time bro. No rush. Even if you don’t make a single video for a year, me and a big chunk of your audience will still be here watching whatever’s next. Get the deal, take care of your family, let your mind and body relax and from that point you’ll automatically get creative together with your new channel partner and you’ll come up with great new video’s. I know you will.
Dare to be different and be yourself! Never, never feel ashamed for being yourself.
You rock bro!
Nice to hear. I would be super careful whom you associate with, seeing as a few car channels (Hoonigan, Donut, CarThrottle) have gone to absolute shit recently due to investors and issues that come with that (constant growth to make money).

Been following you since you first test drove the Model S in 2012. You have done alot for the EV transition and long may it continue.
Where do you get 15% loan? Epress loan is like 17%? Normal loan for house is 4 % now....
Many EV people come to your channel for info, but also since so many cars are sold over the years, many consider used cars so I would definitely welcome more like the Elbilmek and Bosch videos where you look at typical issues with a model and ideally also like how the 2019 model 3 has the PTC heater failing etc. So a "used car guide" going through strenght and weaknesses in quality and cost for a long term owner of a used car, but also going into if features are nice to have or need to have. There's tons of little details, maybe the suspension links have been upgraded to wear less? Is Octovalve far more reliable than the PTC? I even see the non-electric trunk lid has wear issues the 2021 electric trunk does not. So Fremont vs Berlin vs China.
So much to help viewers out on. I personally was dead certain on a 2019 model 3, but then prices fell, 2021 model seems to have a lot of nice upgrades, but then suddenly... then a new SR+ is not too far off either, and the range is now impressive vs 2019 SR+...
Hey Bjorn,
There will always be people who speak their kind easier than others, unfortunately in mean ways rather than useful and kind. Please do not mind them and try your best to do what works best for you.
Keep doing what you're doing friend and I hope all works out for you and your family as always.
First of all the hate commenters are either who sits on their father money or don’t have balls to make a career change like you did. So imo you don’t have to feel ashamed at all.
I’m watching your videos since 4-5 years and only because of your videos I was able to choose the right BEV for me and I’m sure it’s the same for whole many other people here.
You’ve got caught at wrong place at wrong time. Other than that you don’t need to justify to anyone about the space you need and how big the house is. Because it’s your house and it’s where you live not others. And you’re asking for loan. People are donating because we like your videos we have seen you grow from small apartment as a couple to two kids and house now.
This too shall pass!!
Great to see your situation is getting much better. Don't feel bad about donations, all the information you share with us is priceless.
older EV test... Why? Many channels reviewing new cars, but the big question with EV is: how long does the battery last ? What is the difference between MK1&2 for example any usefull technical updates on EV model. Just like every one does with Tesla. And do merchandise payed in Euro pls 🙂
For god’s sake beware of scammers offering help.
Glad you have found a solution that you're happy with 👍
For future video ideas, how about a Giga Berlin tour? Is that possible somehow? Maybe using referral credits?
Could you find a local Tesla FSD test driver to interview? It would be great to understand how good FSD 12.4 is on European roads without any Europe specific training. Perhaps cover the regulation situation in Norway to understand when FSD might be allowed there. Perhaps you have some contacts in Tesla to help.
You should come to the Tesla Owners UK show next year as well. This year's date is tomorrow so too short notice!
Good for you Bjorn, I hope everything is gonna be ok now 👍
It's a shame that people can be so nasty when someone is down. I agree with you on that. Especially the closest ones. I saw many comments, and I was surprised how people can be so pissed and hate someone they really don't know in real life. Be strong Bjorn, hopefully everything is gonna be alright. But I also keep my comment, you shouldn't share anything related to your finances or private life in that regard. It will always backfire on you, unfortunately. Be safe.
I was surprised how people can give money to cover his (big) mistakes to someone they really don't know in real life :-) Parasocial relationships are insane.
@@22Epic I also agree with your point of view.
@@22Epic I disagree a lot have met him personal and are part of the Norwegian EV Community! He provides very valuable content so a donation is obviously appropriate!
@@johnair1 I agree with both points of view. Everyone is free to do what they want, donate who they want, and support high-quality content.
Hatrers will be always looking at their buttons, Bjørn. You deserve that house and wish you all the best with the new partnership. You have been working hard for many years, I know your channel for many years now and you are consistent and unselfish on delicering the data you collect which is still available online [free data].
Haters are selfish, forget about them. Thank you Bjørn for all the support you gave us on the transition to EVs
Bjørn, 30% is a high stake. I hope in the long run you understand what the concequeces of that is. Dont sell yourself too cheap
All the best
I've been following you since five years when I bought my first EV. You do a really good job and your tests provide the best objective data. I'm glad you found a solution to your situation, and I hope the channel will develop in the same spirit. I would like to see more content on how EVs last throughout the years when it comes to cost of ownership, especially battery degradation and even replacement. This is a big issue, not only for byers of used EVs but also for those who by new vehicles. I would personally also be very interested in more content on new technology, and how it compares to current state of art. Eg. new battery technology.
When it comes to your financial situation, I read most of the comments in your previous video. I think you should be careful disregarding the critical comments as hateful, most av them are correct and give good advice. Asking private persons to lend you large amounts of money completely without security to a 10% interest rate IS very close to begging. They will not be prioritized in the event of personal bankruptcy, and would therefore loose their money since selling the house will not cover the dept (a very likely outcome so 10% interest is a very low compensation for that risk). It doesn't matter if you are a nice guy and intend to pay back. I am happy that you found a solution with an investor that buys a share in your business. That way, no private person will be put into great financial risk and you will not increase your dept (on which you have to pay interest and amortization).
Good luck with developing your business, and good luck with the house!
I wasn't referring to the critical comments as hateful. Most of the hateful comments were deleted because I banned the guys.
