The controller beeped for a fraction of a second before it crashed so i couldn't manually stop it. Excellent work recovering your drone! I know all too well that feeling of despair watching your drone crash somewhere where you can't easily get to. I crashed my first Mavic Air into a 400ft+ deep volcanic crater in Hawaii that was virtually impossible to scale down into to retrieve it. I was so happy to see you find yours!
I crashed my DJI once, but all I had to do was climb up a sandy hill and reach into some thick brush. I think if I had crashed as bad as yours did, I might have abandoned it. Now after seeing what you went through, I doubt I would quit as easily if I crash again. Nice work, Brooke!
The drone automatically saves a copy of your media into your phone at the same time as you are recording exactly for this type of scenarios, so, it’s not like she went for the footage, she specifically wanted to recover the drone
@@marcoa.cortezano5214 It was possible that she wanted to get the drone, but it was also possible that she wanted to get the picture inside, because the photographic image was finer and clearer than the ones on the phone.
The power requirements for having a GPS module be on at all times might be a lot but maybe DJI could build a Bluetooth LE module in the drone and in crash events such as this, power down all functions except that and when it detects the controller or the phone come into range. it could start beeping. Hopefully, they'd put a secondary power source for this rated to power this mechanism for at least a few days.

Bluedodz 906 kind of. Technically yes since I flew it into the trees. I had it on cinematic mode which disables several sensors (which I didn’t realize) so it didn’t alert me when I got close to the trees. Also in that mode it it doesn’t have the ability to stop quickly. I didn’t realize I wasn’t at a high enough altitude to clear the island, and also didn’t know I was flying ever so slightly backwards anyway. I learned a lot from the whole experience.
Hi DJI Mavic 2 pro suppose to have all side obstacles avoidance right ? Did not work or you switch off ?. I had similar experience with my mini in a dense Forrest, strucked in a 30 m height tree, it took nearly 4 days to recover with help of tree surgeons.. I can feel your emotions here.
On my last vacation in Turkey, I had a very similar situation. I crashed my drone in very wild and inaccessible mountains, where there were swarms of Asian hornets. after three hours of climbing in a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, I recovered my drone and was able to safely return. I really respect your exploits, I have a lot of respect for you

Gellért Gentischer thank you!!! there are devices that have safety features like that built in- mainly for backpackers and hikers. They are for emergency situations and have separate batteries just for the alarms. You see them used a lot for people going into avalanche zones. And someone else commented that there’s a little thing you can buy that sticks on the outside of the drone and solves the problem while DJI takes their time incorporating that into the devices hahaha 👍🏻
I applaud you for doing what you had to do. I know your pain and frustration with your rescue mission. I crashed my drone into a rock sculpture and I pinned it to be on the worst possible side. It was on a section of cliff that sat dang near vertical. If you lost your footing I would tumble into a boulder field a 100 ft below me. My mission was successful after several hours of climbing and skirting across the base of the rock cliff. I had the same reaction as you when I found mine, plus frustrated by the coordinates not being closer in measurement. My drone was totaled. Gimbal was gone and all wings were dangling.
So what happened to the drone? Was it ok after? Hope you had a waterproof bag for when you jumped into water...

dude wow!! I would have just been like, “shit, there goes another $1k”
More like $2k
AN OFF SCREEN JUMP? in porno we call this the money shot, u dont have a bunch of dudes going at it & and cut to a card saying "Dont worry 12 hrs later they came on each other" noo we want a full ending. The enddddd ahhhhhhhhh
*that was a joke from "The Interview"
I understood that reference
Your so dark larry
Parabéns pela coragem, tenho um phantom 4 pro que é meu xodó.
Fico feliz que tenha encontrado seu equipamento.
Sucesso para voce.
Underrated channel, great adventure, you deserve more suscribers!.
wow thank you for saying that!!! such a nice compliment!!!! 🥺😍
@@BrookeonFoot exactly my thoughts after watching this. That's why I shared it on couple of fb groups. All the best, hit 1M 👍🙏
Kumar Deepam you both are so nice, thank you for the kindness and support 💚💙
Sub from me before i watched it all....... will definitely be sharing.....
Similar thing happened to me, but it was not an epic scary island thing like urs...ur really brave to go at it alone...I would be worried about snakes or eagles or some weird animals. I'm happy u find ur drone and made such a beautiful vlog to take us with you. I just subscribed
How did you jump into the water and not get the drone wet?
Dry bag! 😎👍🏻
TheWildChris wow!!!!!! That would be terrible!!! Sorry you lost your drone IN A VOLCANO 😂😬😬😬 I’m very glad you didn’t attempt to retrieve it
Only dji owners with warranty would understand the effort great job!!!
I crashed my DJI once, but all I had to do was climb up a sandy hill and reach into some thick brush. I think if I had crashed as bad as yours did, I might have abandoned it. Now after seeing what you went through, I doubt I would quit as easily if I crash again. Nice work, Brooke!
For someone who doesn't understand why she had to put the life in Risk, I think all footage of her experiences trip are in the drone.
The drone automatically saves a copy of your media into your phone at the same time as you are recording exactly for this type of scenarios, so, it’s not like she went for the footage, she specifically wanted to recover the drone
@@marcoa.cortezano5214
It was possible that she wanted to get the drone, but it was also possible that she wanted to get the picture inside, because the photographic image was finer and clearer than the ones on the phone.
Respect for these climbing skills 👌🏻
What a commitment for the Mavic 2 Pro, respect ✊
Anton Müller hahahahaha it was my second time ever in my life rock climbing lol hahaha I just couldn’t leave it! Never leave a fallen comrade 😂
I totally understand losing something you thought would be forever lost, then miraculously find it! Great job!
DJI should watch this.. and she sounded well and intelligent.. it really should hv a sound alarm that can atleast play loud
Great video! The biggest crime here, however, is that you somehow only have 390 subscribers at the time of my viewing. Well... 391 now. I just subscribed. Amazing content and story telling.
EVERYTHING cpo you’re gonna make me cry 🥺❤️ thank you!!!!! Encouragement like that really means a lot to me. I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos 😊
Girl(s) gone wild litterally! What a crazy idea and execution. Respect!
This made me actually laugh out loud 😂
amazing girl!!! wow cool
Waah fd haus nyangkut disini 😂
Glad that u are safe😁👍 I hope drone is still working! Liked & subscribed
TomGadgets Thank you!!! 🙏🏼😊 much time my surprise, it still works! A few scratches and cosmetic damage, and two propellers broke (I have replacements!) but everything works perfectly! I actually can’t believe it haha so fortunate :)
Pilot error?
Bluedodz 906 kind of. Technically yes since I flew it into the trees. I had it on cinematic mode which disables several sensors (which I didn’t realize) so it didn’t alert me when I got close to the trees. Also in that mode it it doesn’t have the ability to stop quickly. I didn’t realize I wasn’t at a high enough altitude to clear the island, and also didn’t know I was flying ever so slightly backwards anyway. I learned a lot from the whole experience.
@@BrookeonFoot nice experienced and good to see the whole video during the rescue mission. 👏
Bluedodz 906 glad you liked it! Wish I could have filmed the jump into the water but my GoPro was busted :(
Hi DJI Mavic 2 pro suppose to have all side obstacles avoidance right ? Did not work or you switch off ?. I had similar experience with my mini in a dense Forrest, strucked in a 30 m height tree, it took nearly 4 days to recover with help of tree surgeons.. I can feel your emotions here.
Man so over Netflix and needed something to watch. This was very suspenseful! Thank you!
A Santos aww thank you! 🙏🏼 I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!! 😁😁😁 thats so nice of you to say!
Damn, you did all of that for a drone. I could only imagine what you'd do if you lost a child.
On my last vacation in Turkey, I had a very similar situation. I crashed my drone in very wild and inaccessible mountains, where there were swarms of Asian hornets. after three hours of climbing in a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, I recovered my drone and was able to safely return. I really respect your exploits, I have a lot of respect for you
I'm surprised you haven't found more stuff there
Vytas was here the only thing I found was a piece of plastic trash (water bottle) in the same vicinity as the drone. Not a trace anywhere else on the island. Makes me think that maybe people don’t normally go there 🤔😂
I lost my drone at the river, it sank. I searched for 5 mins and gave up... you my friend are a bad ass! Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! That shattered GoPro though 😢
Great video, thanks for sharing on that journey with us🤙💯
Aww wow thank you!!! So glad you enjoyed the video!! I was able to fix the GoPro for $30 so thats a win! Sorry about your drone 😔 RIP
@@BrookeonFoot Im glad and yea, luckily DJI sent me a new one, just lost whatever data I had on the memory card not retrieved. RIP old drone, hello new one :)
Where did you lost it imOUT_travelling?
Wow, that kept me gripped all the way through. In glad you found the drone and huge kudos to you for attempting it. Liked and subbed
5 stars for bravery and courage. 4 stars for foolishness. It's just a drone. They all crash eventually. What is your life worth? Think how much money you spent just getting there.
? Did that island have an entrance fee?
I’m so impressed with that climb 😂 wow....
Wait a minute. Is that a plastic bottle at 7:35 (under the rock)? How on earth did that get there?
I was looking forward to see how you jumped. :(
Yeah sorry, i couldnt film it because my gopro was shattered and my iphone isnt waterproof lol
@@BrookeonFoot makes no sense.
how did you get down without ruining even more, the drone, and the iphone ?
Dry bag!!! You can see me wearing it throughout the video.
What are you? The lovechild of Batman and Cat Woman???
Familien Hansen this made me cackle 😂😂😂
As the Mom, not sure if I'm Batman or Cat woman. lolol Both?
I’m getting ready to get one of those, so how did the drone crash there? Did it just simply run out of battery? What had happened.
She's a Champ for this one!!! She deserves a DJI Sponsorship with this amount of effort. She legit looks like Lara Croft out there Tomb Raiding!!!
Hahahaahaaha omg this made me laugh 😂 thank you 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I would recommend you brighten that drone up a bit because it looks like it’s camouflaged.
Wow! Thanks for taking us on the adventure! Glad you got everything working.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words ☺️
Nice job with the recovering, but why on earth would you think that the alarm works without any power? 😄
It has memory built in so why not reserve power?!?!
AMAZING!!!!.... I literally found myself CHEERING when you found the Drone!!😂👏!!!... So glad I found this channel!
Awww thank you!!! Haha I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! ☺️
Reef walkers and gloves should have been a must on this adventure! Epic job!
Woww, what a heroic move!!
Those jagged rocks at first would have me at NOPE 👎🏼
Damn, I would’ve just pronounce that drone dead
Glad you found it and you're back safe.
Interesting video, tho the overuse of "epic music" and too loud made it hard to watch....
Thanks for the feedback!! i appreciate it!
I have balls of steel but even I would write that drone off.
Amazing effort to recover your drone and a great video. Thank you
4:53 behind her is a snake 🐍
😳👀
She isn't saving her drone
She was saving her wallet
I applaud you for doing what you had to do. I know your pain and frustration with your rescue mission.
I crashed my drone into a rock sculpture and I pinned it to be on the worst possible side. It was on a section of cliff that sat dang near vertical. If you lost your footing I would tumble into a boulder field a 100 ft below me. My mission was successful after several hours of climbing and skirting across the base of the rock cliff. I had the same reaction as you when I found mine, plus frustrated by the coordinates not being closer in measurement. My drone was totaled. Gimbal was gone and all wings were dangling.
I would’ve done the same thing if my Mavic air 2 would’ve landed on a island like that
Gonzalo Hahahaha right? Can’t just leave it up there!!!!! It would just feel wrong!
