I stopped by Kindig Design in late June 2016 on my way home from Hot Rod Power Tour in my 1939 Ford Sedan. I was going to just drop by for a few minutes to see the shop. I was invited for a tour, met with several workers and offered lunch with Kevin. Great group... I was even was given a t-shirt!
Yeah, you're definitely a cast member and a mechanic in 1, especially when you're fixing/upgrading parts while explaining what is going on in the process. KevDogg is Shop Foreman and most popular character!
I find it bizarre how so many comments complain about the show being for rich people. How much do expect to pay for a completely custom car that takes a year or more to build and is the quality that comes out of the shop? You would rather watch a custom car show for poor people?
Hands down the best show of kind. Dave is a true artist and his team are incredible fabricators. Show is very well done. Iron Resurection is right up there also along with a few others.
Have to agree with both! Wouldn't be afraid of bringing a prized car to any of them. If I ever got the money to do something like this, I would without blinking!
Had the opportunity to meet Dave and Kevdogg at a car show, I must say those two are super nice and what you see on TV is what you get in person, goofing off and all.
A few years back, I was flying out of Salt Lake City and the top five main guys were all on my flight. I stopped over to speak with them and they were the nicest guys. I have a picture of me with them; something they suggested. It was so cool meeting them and I cherish the pic (it hangs in my kitchen).
Greatest car show, and I hope it stays on for a long time. I like it because it's real and it reminds me of a large shop that I was a part of myself for other type of work. The safety, quality, and ideals within the management and the craftmen are so similar to my own ways of thinking. They are like a large family where everyone takes part and gets along and all with a little humor. A good example for everyone in this world. Stan l

I had a brief conversation with Dave Kindig at a car show. My question was “what happened to Miguel?”, former paint shop foreman. His reply was, he was fired for appropriating company property (supplies) for his personal benefit. I was shocked that he spilled such information! Got some pictures of he and I and an autographed picture of the early Suburban the they made into a pick-up. Seems like a very personable guy!

Kendig does it right. The title is just the truth. Wonder why you didn't mention Daves door handle. He invented it and fits well with the garages title .
Love the show and the name !!! It truly has socially redeeming qualities and helps me understand what can be done to fancy up my vehicle. Keep it going!! Thanks 🎉
I found their outlet in Salt Lake, and I found their website.Just for giggles I emailed them and asked if they could check out my Jeep. They responded and said they were not taking any builds right now. The show is like free advertising, and they are getting cars shipped to them from all over the world. They also said the average build takes about 2 years, and runs about $250,000. Ouch.
What happened to Chris, he looked like the best metal guy but seemed to butt heads with Kevin every episode. I would wait 2 years for a car not 4....if I could afford one!
Dave and Chip Foose are the top Car Builders for sure, in my hometown Manteno Illinois Rad Rides by Troy Trepanier would be in that group for sure, all three are at the top for building Super cars out there!
Kindig cars are the best, Dave has the eye for how a car should look without being affected by current trends. His cars can be driven not like the “show only” stuff turned out by others. True costly but no different than anything “special made”. His shop personnel turn over is typical for this type occupation.
The white Chevelle with the red trim they built for the customer who had to cup holder for his diet coke due to being diabetic is one the coolest cars I think they have produced
In Europe it's been called Kindig It Costums. In the beginning i was a little confused with the different names they use in the USA. The best show on custom cars ever. It's only a pitty that these cars are build for wealthy people only. From 200K until 700K is not for the common men.But i think these cars are worth it,considering the amount of work and materials they put into it. Those cars are truly gems and masterpieces.
Love the show. Best car building show. I would wait a long time to own a car built by Dave. It would take that long time to save enough money to pay for it.
You left out so many people that I like on the show, it's funny how you see some that left one show on another show but I was surprised to see Justin from Bitchin Rides working with Cato that used to be on the show Iron Ressurection, another favorite of mine.
What did it for me as a builder i have buildin for over 40 years .I took my Dad and my Godfather to Portland Roadster Show when they came i was told had to pay for a visit now my Dad passed a couple years later he was dieing at the time .he just wanted to meet other builders .Ive never gone back to the Show since .I havnt watched the show since because it just pisses me off .RIP Dad ❤
Love the show. I don’t have a problem with the shows name, Bitch’n Rides. Enjoy all the talented guys on the show. Too bad some have to leave and they move on to Pursue their their own dreams. I will continue watching. Wish there was a shop like yours near us. Keep up the awesome work.
JS Custom interiors and Kato (from Iron Resurrection) are two very good auto interior guys. I thought Nick Panos the electrical guy was great. He left because he didn’t like the rush day to day filming.
Information leaves out many key pieces of information, One being that Justins Shop is still in the building and still does most if not all of the upholstery. He also grew up with Dave and Kevin. Will is Also very much a Key Member. Daves Vision and Wills Engineering has been very key of the Creative aspect and bringing Daves Dreams to life.
I am more of an old fart purist rat rod kind of guy but always respected this show and the people behind it for their dedication and quality work. If I had butt loads of money I would definitely ask that shop to build me a car. I'd wanna see them cut up a not rare older example of something we used to see at every stoplight...such as a 4 door 1979 malibu...there are a million other examples...I just thought of a better example I'd have them build (again if I was rich) is a 4 door Delta 88 from 1978-1986. It has to stay Olds powered and I would build the engine and hardware associated with it running. They would make it look pretty and do the rest of the car, including the infamous door handles
I never thought anyone could restyle a '57 Ford Fairlane to look as sweet as his project does! Sorry folks, but if you have the vision and talent to make a ho-hum '57 Ford look like that, well, you sure as hell have great talent! It was cool to see the owner practically speechless when he first set eyes on it.
Seems like the producers get tired of custom work and decided to make the staff characters with their own sub plots. Kevdog is definitely one of those. Not the only show to ruin it like this.
i only watch the show to see Will Lockwood , the man is brilliant and mega talented , ok that sounded bad , i watch the show not only because of Will but because the tv show itself is amazing but it seems they are spending less time showing the builds like they use to
In 1962 part of my vocabulary was Bitchin as were a lot of surfer dudes in Redondo Beach. My mom would always jump in my face over saying "Bitchin'. I never stopped and she finally gave up. I still say Bitchin in 2024
This and Iron Resurrection are the only shows that I don't want to miss and have set to record most of the others kind of annoy me. Including the spinoff
Kev Dogg, like him or hate him, he adds humor to what can be a grueling job. Some of you haters need to get a life and quit bitching about nothing. Dave Kindig is the greatest custom car builder of all time.
Some of them make it sound like he is a Duane Mayer. The TV show and the business are 2 different things and Kevin is the shop foreman for a multi-million dollar business that happens to be on a TV show. So, he's a "Serious" funny. Duane Mayer working for Boyd was a mess.
Enjoy the show. People who enjoy their job are more productive.Having a little fun t work helps s long as u don't get carried away and stay productive.
It’s difficult to not want to know some of the details of the cast. After all we bring them into our lives via the show. However the truth is, well it’s no one’s business really. At the end of the day it’s a business and a job for many people. People come and go and if you aren’t there to see and participate, it’s moot!! Yes I am too a fan of the show!

Not to disrespect any of the new guys, I miss all that have gone, I do find it ironic that Justin the interior guy partnered with Cato from Iron Resurrection, another show that had a significant turnover since Shorty left. I am happy after a long period of time to see Shorty running his own shop that he owned all the time he worked with Joe Martin.
Shorty has always had his own paint shop and was only at Martins for 3 days a week. He and Joe have known each other for years, but he felt it was time to put all his effort into his business.
@@IanK1962 I knew that Shorty had his own shop all the time he was on Iron Ressurection and they are about 3 hours away from each other, I have heard a few different reasons why he went back to run his own shop. one was it wasn't being managed well in his absence and another was that he has young grandchildren that he wasn't getting enough grandpa time with. Being a grandpa myself, I could understand that.
It's no different than all the rest of "reality" automotive shows. Too much BS and not enough real building. Not made for the real automotive enthusiast/builder. The producers of such shows are afraid the average viewer will get bored with too much real building, so you get the supposed "funny" crap that has nothing to do with building a custom car. In one hour, they show a total of 7 minutes of actual build time, and that's it. Lame!
Sold to the show. All done for "publicity". "Most expensive sold". They got millions of free advertising for that scam. Love the work they do but that scam was pretty lame.
Keven is a little annoying but he’s funny and he’s a very likable person. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning each episode several times. There is no car show available now that isn’t full of crap it’s 20% hands on and 80% Fluff
Seems the show is now trying to show more of the build process; also seems they've toned-down some of the silly antics in the process. the fabricators, body and metal craftsmen are quite talented and young - - v.impressive. would be tough to lessen the turnover of these employees since i'm sure they have their own long-term ambitions too!
Saw a recent show. The camaro that left barely had a piece of the car the customer brought in. These shops show how much damage and rust can be hidden.
No swear jar at my house, just that bar of Ivory Soap in the soap dish on the side of the sink. Mom sure knew just how to grind it in between your teeth to get all that filth out!
How long would I wait for one of Dave ‘s cars? Shit almost a lifetime I would have to buy something else to tide me over till then, but yeah, Dave and the crew builds Bitchin Rides!!!
That was very disappointing. Y’all left out several of his main guys The electrician , the one with the flats rod ( one of his best fabricators)and dry sense of humor, and Hispanic painter and suspension mechanic
I wonder how they can part with the cars that they built, I would be heartbroken to see them go, the team are all artists in their own right, WOW WOW WOW 😂
They're not "cast members" ... They're employees... and employees of companies come and go.
Nah, they were employees of Dave Kindigs but cast members of Bitchin Rides. There is a difference and they can wear both hats.
This iz stoopid. Your tuna is dry.
Yeah, you're definitely a cast member and a mechanic in 1, especially when you're fixing/upgrading parts while explaining what is going on in the process. KevDogg is Shop Foreman and most popular character!

Chip Foose, Dave Kindig,...2 Of The Best Car Creator"s Of Our Time !!!!...Mark Workman A Legend In His Own Right !!!!
I got to meet Chip, a nicer, more down-to-earth celeb you'll never meet. Treated everyone with respect.

Chip Foose uses glasurit paint, and Kindig it designs, uses sikkens, paint, which is junk compared to Glasurit.
Lets not forget joe from Iron resurrection...amazing person and craftsman....

I think it is sad that Nick has left. I really enjoyed watching his meticulous detail in finishing and electrical work.

Met Dave and Kevin when they visited my work site. They could not have been nicer. Exactly like they are on the show. Extremely friendly and outgoing.
I wanna know what happened with kris Elmer. I really liked his dry sense of humor and his metal work is second to none!
I sent an email to the show and they said that he returned to help run his family owned hot rod shop.
He has own UA-cam where he works at his family's shop
Kris was my favorite on the show, he has a set of skills that is insane, all those guys are incredibly gifted

Love the show no drama I miss some of the characters Kevin is the shop Forman it's his job to make things happen I'm a big fan
Kevdog is a nobody. Does nothing and all he adds to the show is stupidity.
No drama? Kevin singlehandedly supplies all the drama for the cast
@@imthatguy1878 ...... and cookies, don't forget the cookies. 🙂
@@imthatguy1878Kevin is no Duane Mayer, and that's a good thing.
Kevdog thinks hes as funny as Mark Worman, both are WRONG!!!!!!
Watch a lot,, would never spend that much for Kindig design!
I am building my own . and love to watch the show .
I miss seeing Nick, the electric guru !!
That was very disappointing. Y’all left out several of his main guys
The electrician , the one with the flats rod ( one of his best fabricators)and dry sense of humor, and Hispanic painter and suspension mechanic
Awesome show
Kindig ride I would wait as long as it takes it don't get no better than that
I would wait as long as it took 😁
I wonder how they can part with the cars that they built, I would be heartbroken to see them go, the team are all artists in their own right, WOW WOW WOW 😂
I don't watch it because of the asinine back and forth between Dave King and his show foreman
Actually I kind of thought that was part of the show, but to each his own !
