Let's be real, realistic engine sound was never the best part for Midnight Club franchise. Cars in this game doesn't sound bad, but they do sound a little artificial.
I hated how they used the same V8 sounds for the initial classic muscle cars. No matter what car I got they all sounded the same, and the Grand National didn’t even have a V8, it’s a Turbo V6.
They sound bad because they sound realistic. The stock V8's on the more modern cars pretty much sound identical to what they would sound like in person with no exhaust mods. Pretty much just a low pitch lawnmower sound. The 96 impala is pretty realistic.
Seeing all the bikes, except the Monster sound the same, despite only the Ninja ZX-14 being an i4, the two Ducatis use a V-Twin engine, but re-use the Ninja ZX-14's I4 sound

To be honest, I liked the sounds in the game even if they don't sound identical to their real life counterpart. If the car sounds nice, my ears would enjoy it. I even once said that even though the S302 Extreme does not sound realistic in-game, it still sounds badass to me
@@dv_. So were many other games, even before 2008 like Forza motorsport 2, yet they have more realistic sounds than MC. MC's a arcade game and It's not simulating real sounds in any way. Say what you want - Then search for the in-game car sounds and compare them to their real life counter-parts. If you say they sound "good" and realistically simulated then I don't know what to tell you lol.
I could never play the midnight club because of those horrible engine sounds. The Need For Speed saga teaches a lesson in how engines really sound, nothing against those who like Midnight but everyone has their own choices haha

I love how a 6.2 liter V12 engine of S600 sounds almost same with 2.0 liter straight 4 engine of Lancer Evo 9.
It's funny how the Skyline and RS4 sound more like a rotary right after the RX-7
Or the S600 sounding closer to an Evo
Also the Corvette sounds neat

The fact that the Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Gallardo sound different despite them using the same engine is wild.
The R8 in the game is the V8 version

In reality the R8 and the Gallardo would have the same sounds, the Murcielago shouldn't share the same sound with the Gallardo.
I think the R8 was still V8 only when this game came out, but it still sounds wrong either way.
