    I feel his story is extremely sad, especially as the story ends on a happy note when he convinces himself that getting a publisher resolves his problems, that his reduction of his methadone saves him from the temptation of consuming drugs, and that he had come out on top of it. I'm currently on 'another' subby (Subutex) script, and listening to Lanre from 34:30 - 34:42 just cracked me up. It was like listening to myself, and every other junkie I've ever met... "I'm not bullshitting yer. I wouldn't tell yer no lies..." Yeah, right, Lanre. But that's all we ever do, we tell lies, to ourselves and others, until the day we quit, quit for good...

    An example of participatory journalism turning into scrambled eggs.
    Just as one shouldn't pick up a weapon and start assassinating prisoners while doing a write up on Death Squads,
    the same should have been thought out with this absurdist situation.
    A drug with such powerful destructive properties has completely consumed, swallowed and changed him wholly.
    It's as if someone walked into traffic to cross the street without looking, taken a hit by a car screeching at high speeds and still attempts to crawl to the other side without recognizing the missing limbs.

      Heard that one a few times mate,. with different scenarios. I sort of believe it's an urban myth... I'd be interested to know if you know this person.... or if he's a mate of a mate...by the same token..some people must be caught out like this where urine tests are involved......I always thought of costs...you just test for what you're paid to test don't you ?..

    • @robrobert9541

      Petre .W. I'm just retelling what I was told. "...you just test for what you're paid to test don't you?" Unless they suspected what he was doing and wanted to catch him. Personally, I doubt they really tested his urine for pregnancy. I think they just told him they did to bluff him and to watch his reaction, or get him to admit he was substituting someone else's urine. Again, I'm giving this second hand, so I don't know.

    • @petre.w.487
      @petre.w.487 9 років тому

      Rob Robert Yeah ! That's what I thought ! I'd heard the same ! Now that I've cleaned up I'm more likely to believe the the second scenario as more likely and it being a bluff !...

      Rob Robert I take pee test every week... Trust me they don't test for pregnancy.. Testing for alcohol is expensive in itself due to having to test liver insims..especially for male urine there's no point in spending money on pregnancy test

    • @ianmcgranahan5732
      @ianmcgranahan5732 6 років тому +1

      Rob Robert meth, cocaine, benzos, MDMA, alcohol (randomly tested for alcohol), heroin, opiates, oxy, methadone, THC, angel dust and I believe GHB but they never catch GHB due to the tiny amount of liquid you swallow... Comes out in the next piss... Anyway this is a large panel for hardcore drug addicts... Expensive to test

    watching stuff like this just makes me angry. prohibition has never worked these drugs should obviously be regulated and decriminalised .. it is a no brainer surely?? until that happens many thousands of mainly young people will continue to needlessly die a slow undignified death.. and the massive cost to society will continue to rise

      And how is regulation going to change anything? Just look how big the criminal circuit is in The Netherlands for weed and hash alone while its legal. When the price is 50% lower on the streets, regulation won't change anything.

    • @andrewharper1609
      @andrewharper1609 3 роки тому +1

      Regulation doesn't stop addiction. If you look at the US a number of people are addicted to prescription painkillers (Matthew Perry from Friends being one of the most high profile cases previously). There's also been an opioid crisis where big pharma turned drug dealer and decided to put profit ahead of clinical efficacy. This was in spite of the US having a regulated drug market.

    So sad, He seems to be a really genuine nice guy. I heard he passed away last year or so, not drug related. I always wanted him to do some cocaine, not to get high but to see the little animals that came out of his hands and arms he claimed happened when doing that drug, but nobody believed him.

      What do you mean "not drug related", he died from cancer. Heroin massively increases the risk of developing numerous cancers, and if he was on the crack as well or into chasing the dragon then obviously that causes lung cancer.
