  • In this video, we tackle a common problem... G1 Blaster's broken buttons.
    My brother bought one of these classic 80s Hasbro G1 Transformers and the buttons were frozen stuck.
    Be ready for some cracking music and strobing lights!!

    During the pre-transformer days, Blaster was a microman figure referred to as MC-21 Radi0-Cassette Robo. Due to how the toy was configured as a working AM radio, the transformable micro-cassettes could not be stored in the tape door but were stored in the rear compartment. This compartment was carried over when the toy was released as Blaster.

    • @VintageToyRush
      @VintageToyRush  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for the info!!! That's really interesting and now I'm gonna have to lookup the AM radio version. Sounds awesome, literally! I can only assume the compartment was much easier to open, as I could only remove the lid from the inside 👍

      Ha ha!! What are you doing with a phone at the dinner table 🤣 Love Blaster, we may both be looking for one this year. Sits really nicely with Soundwave! And those springs strike again. Seriously, several times that happened and I could here it bounce over by the cabinets. Found it with the Dinos 😎

    Here in Canada there was versions of blaster that transformed into a robot and had a built-in radio I don't know if they were the Japanese or Hasbro version but I know they were sold through Sears and Kmart and a few other places when I was a kid but I'd swear the radio version still had the option of putting Little Robot tape guy in the front

    • @VintageToyRush
      @VintageToyRush  7 місяців тому

      That's amazing there was a working radio built-in. Pretty sure we never had that version in the UK. I'm gonna have to look for that version cause I'm intrigued to see what it looks like 👍 Thanks for stopping by from Canada!

      @@VintageToyRush When I got a Gobot when I was a kid they were on a display near the gold box and I'm trying to remember if it was Kmart or sears or zellers. It would have been the strip mall in Dartmouth where they had the big Christmas tree. I call it strip mall but it's a great big shopping complex Mick Mac Mall that was it but I'm trying to remember which store it was in Micmac.i got a Gobot tank for my birthday and they were on a display near the Gobots and was definitely blaster. I just don't know if it was the Hasbro version or the original Japanese. Believe it or not we got a lot of the toys from diacon and whatnot that were sold at stores here in Nova Scotia alongside the Hasbro releases. I literally have a decline sound wave complete where it has the Japanese coffee right information on the back dated 1974 or 1978 with a bunch of Japanese character writing beside the date a lot of people don't realize Transformers date back to the 1970s and were not just a re-release on our side of the fence but we were quite a few years behind lol.
