Honestly, I feel so pressured to have good grades all the time. Literally, I feel like a number on a piece of paper shouldn't define me, but I feel like it does.
And I'm also kind of scared for my second year because I don't know how to stand up to people when they're mean to me..😕
Just Jane I used to feel that way too, but I've started to realize that while grades are important, they're really not what defines me. Life is too short to be spent stressing over whether you got that A or not, and as long as you gave it your best that's all that matters. And as for people that are mean to you, just remember that in a few years they'll be completely irrelevant in your life. Most of the time if you tell them to back off and stand up for yourself, they'll be surprised enough that they will. Good luck with everything! (:

Its okay don't worry about it, it may seem scary at first but trust me, you'll get to used to being somewhere new and you're going to make tons of new friends, it'll be a fun experience! Eva's tips are really good ones, I wish I saw this when I started high school

Wow I used to watch this video so much when I was younger, now I’m 16 and am in high school/ secondary school, and I find this video really nostalgic
Advice I have for school:
1. Learn which teachers are really serious about homework and focus on their homework. It's also useful to learn which teachers are less strict and will let you off if you haven't done it, and just don't do that homework if you don't feel like it. Gather up some good excuses for every occasion and different type of homework.
2. It doesn't matter if you don't pay attention in class, as long as you have some good notes, and listen at very important bits. (ALWAYS TAKE NOTES YOU WILL FORGET THINGS OTHERWISE)
3. If you're stressed about tests you'll do bad, always try to shape a test to something that you find fun, for example write a little bit of comedy at the end of an essay, it brings a great mood to the person who's marking your test, and puts you in a good, more alert mood while checking back for mistakes.
4. Don't worry about things all the other kids insult you for, and never trust anyone with anything.
This is coming from a student who's consistently getting good grades in almost all subjects (except french but fuck that).
I hate french too, good advice i have good grades too and i always use this stuff

I met my best friend in science class too! We sat next to eachother and we got seperated for talking to much and half way through the year our teacher just gave up and let us talk and sit together again.

+Geeky Singer I was in 7th, the main reason she gave up is because I would take a clipboard with the assignments and go to her desk and lean against a wall. We would talk and work so our teacher decided it was better for us to sit together then me getting up everyday.

My sister is class of 2010 and I'm Class Of 2018 (Juniors, where you at?) and she said that a popular jock she had a crush on turned out to still be living in the same town in their parents' house and working at WalMart (sounds cliché but hear me out; it's all true). And she had a friend who was a computer nerd and got teased for it. Now he works at Microsoft and makes a high income job with a wife and one kid. It's called KARMA.
