- It's been YEARS since I tackled the Sharpie art challenge... let's see how the Ohuhu permanent markers stack up against the Sharpie brand!

Gold Sable Watercolor brushes
Sometimes it helps to dip dried up pens into vinegar or rubbing alcohol to revive them 🤔 - not sure which solvent are used in both of them, but I'd try getting a bottle of that and try it out 😁
Or just dump a bunch on hand sanitizer on the tip. I do that and it works like a charm (with alcohol markers)

From what I’ve read you put water-based markers in water, and alcohol-based markers in whichever kind of alcohol you want to use (rubbing, drinking, etc)
Vinegar can do anything
Ohuhu has a very good customer service. I received one pack where a colour was missing and instead there were two similar markers and they sent me a new, full pack. It would probably be very easy to have your blue marker replaced.
Also I'm in LOVE with how this drawibg tured out ! The colours and textures remind me of old children magazines from the 70s that my grandmother had when we were little. Looking at it makes me really happy.
Had the same problem and they gave me a 20% discount on my next order. Which is fine, but since I'm more on the poor artist side I never got to use it 😅
The sound of the markers scratching the paper is PAINFULL

I always avoid marker videos bcs of the sounds 😭
I absolutely LOVE the sound, feel, smell, look… yeah, EVERYTHING about markers!!
i actually kind of like the sound of markers... what i CANT DO is when cooking videos use mental bowls and metal utensils 🍴 😭😭😭

Actually, when I think Ohuhu, I think of Steph from Doodle Date, and TERRACOTTA. Lol. What is the price point of these permanent markers compared to Sharpie?

If you like layering, try the Pitt Artist Pens, or Inktense. I love them for that ability.
Ink has always scared me, but honestly maybe I should give it another go!
@@KaseyTheGolden Detwent Inktense, especially in the blocks, functions very similarly to watercolor. It just can't be lifted once it dries. Can't be any scarier than using Sharpies!!
If you lift inktense it's because you lift the paper 😅
@@drake713 or because you didn't use enough water, and thus didn't activate all of it
Referencing the "wants to touch the volcano" lava to me looks like it would be so squishy and im very upset with life that I can only touch it once, and then idek if I'd feel pain first or the texture lol
Your nerves would burn to a crisp before you could even touch it. That’s not even taking into account the toxic fumes that would knock you out way before then.

@@taterpiearts if you were to wear one of those hazmat/heat reflective suits you might be able to. But it wouldn’t be with your bare fingers.
I colored an entire backpack with sharpies and that backpack SUCC’D™ the ink, but the sharpies only started dying at the end. Sharpies don’t disappoint✨
I'm so wary of permanent markers outside of mainstream brands now, I tested out a brand called Parkoo when they sent them to me, they were just ok when I tested them, but I came back a year later and half of the colors faded out!! And that was without light interaction. Hopefully these are more lightfast! And it's a shame about that blue, it's such a good color!
Yeeaaahhh… sometimes a brand you can trust is just the way to go, haha.
i think the telling sign that ohuhu may need to go back to the drawing board with these markers is the fact that you had to go back to the sharpie to finish your piece.....but otherwise they looked cool!

Never has "100% organic" written on a pack of hotdogs made more sense... and been equally terrifying. O.o
I used Bic markers as my alcohol markers for years…still have them in my arts and crafts stash, same drawer as my alcohol markers.

This came out really good, Sharpies are really good for sure too and I love using them sometimes. I also love the hotdog weenie horse (and yes I'm calling it hotdog weenie horse because look at it 😂)

This is so timely!! I just ordered a pack of brush/fine tip sharpies. I was going to get crayola alcohol but the reviews said the set all had dried out yellow, and it doesn't have a brown. So I ordered sharpies instead. I need some that aren't budget busters. Love the drawing!! Seemed so simple yet came out huge and wonderful! HUGS
i saw someone use these permanent markers in a video the other day and they had a pale pink one that was really dry straight out of the packet so maybe theres some kind of quality control issue with these?
Dr Ph. Martin’s Bombay India inks are fun if you want to play more with layering of colors! They are waterproof once dry, so previous washes don’t get picked up if you go over it again later. There is a limit to the number of layers you can make before an area will kind of “bead up”, but it’s still fun!
P.S. I love watching your videos and seeing how you’ve progress in your style!

Also, I have a suspicion that the dry-on-arrival light blue Ohuhu was a factory error, like Yasha Vatrushka's case where he was one color short, and instead of the color that was supposed to be there, he got a duplicate of some other random color.

I got a pack of 80 water based Ohuhu markers and a couple of them were dry but the rest work pretty well. I'm not an artist, I just love coloring books. But my favorite markers are just plain staedler ones, ecoline is pretty good for big things like coloring a sky or an ocean, and sakura koi markers. The sakura koi are so good they make me want to cry.

the reds that were similar reacted so differently with the blue. So cool!
I think that the llama guy needs some sort of top hat or bowtie or mustache, it just seems appropriate.

Hey Kasey always a joy to watch you work. I’ve enjoyed the other crayon as well. I love my neocolor II sticks but did you ever try the neocolor 1’s? They are more waxy and not so far off from regular crayons. Will crayons be featured in more videos for this year as well? Or are you going to try just super bright colors and go away from earthy colors? Tell us Kasey! The people want to know!

This is 100% supply failure, NOT user error. Some of those, especially the light blue and the light purple, of course, behaved like cheap dollar store markers and being Ohuhu brand, I doubt they were cheap. I love the art work itself. It's super cute and unique. Your linework is pretty darn amazing.
This reminds me of Wow Wow Wubsey.
I'll stick with sharpie they are just not expensive enough for me to justify going to another brand. Also the endless size and color options are unbeatable.
