Hi Ivan, No, I don't get those flavors in Ettinger although it can taste a little grassy early in its season. It's been so long since I've eaten a Jim that I can't recall well enough, sorry!
Nice!!! Been waiting for this profile. Thank you. I planted mine about 2 months ago from a 5 gal. from Menlo Growers in San Martin. How many Ettinger have you seen in SoCal?
Where did the ones in your video come from? I think you are growing right? I just bought on a fluke. I never heard of it before I saw at Menlo Growers. The owners of Epicenter said it sucks in their location but I’m one mountain range in from them across Silicon Valley in hills where it is warmer overall than where they live. One thing that’s interesting my tree variety that is producing best by far over all others is Reed.
@@spinnordoctor The Ettinger avocados in the video came from a farmer friend. I do have an Ettinger tree but it is young. My location has cold nights and I don't expect Ettinger to fruit well here; I'm using it primarily as a pollenizer for Pinkerton and Hass. Good to hear that Reed is so reliable for you. It is for me too.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to do a profile of the tree before the end of spring. You have seen my profile of the fruit though, right?: ua-cam.com/video/HkX4xBu8ncc/v-deo.html
Hi sir, Am from India 🇮🇳. Am also intrested to cultivate avocados in high density . So please suggest the space between 2 plants & also row space . Please reply me when u got free sir. Am in little bit confusion. Thank U Sir.
Thx for another excellent video, since I quite like and enjoy our Bacon, looking forward to the Ettinger when it sizes up. Hass and others like Fuerte always rated better by aficionados. BUT my Bacon tree gives a good crop EVERY year, whereas the Hass only has ONE fruit this year. Plus Bacons are beautiful trees.
greg, you are doing amazing work. I am working on planting Avos in high density the same way I have done for mangoes in my farm. Can you please share ur email/ mobile.
Hi brother, Am from 🇮🇳 India .am also interested to cultivate avos in high density. So please suggest the space between 2 plants. & also row space. Thank u sir. Please reply me when u got free sir.
Awesome video man.
New subscriber here.. I love avocado
Thanks for your video.
Great Videos. Does it have a strong grassy taste or a hint of sweetness? How would you compare its taste to a Jim Bacon?

Hi Pat, How many Ettinger trees have I seen in SoCal? Very few outside of some that are used as pollenizers in a few commercial groves.

Looks a lot like the Pinkerton but with a smoother skin and larger seed
I tried going to your blog, but my browser flags a security warning. I tried on different browsers and the same thing happens. :-(
Sorry, Lynn. The server is being fixed right now. It should be back very soon.
