- Well it's been a while, but I recently did one of my 5 Minute Flea Market trips. For those that are new or don't remember, this is where I meet up with someone, someplace, and most times lots of money gets exchanged for lots of tools, and this one was no exception. There are some neat items this time.

Folks have asked where I sell tools.
I sell a lot on Facebook and all of my tools get listed to this group and others as well. Look for Tony Seo in the group.

I do have a Facebook page for the shop and this is where you can see my latest finds even before they hit a video.

Thanks Russ!!
Thank you. I learned how to identify the "iron" of a _coachmaker's_ rabbet plane from this video.
Glad to help
Are you sure that "Offset screwdriver" isn't actually a double ended drawer lock chisel. They often get mistaken for them and I've made decent money selling them here in the UK. They hang around for a bit but when someone wants a vintage one they sell. Often have makers marks. Marples made a lot of them.
Howdy, no it's a screwdriver. The edge on the one tip is flat and the other was futzed with at some point, but it's a Mayhew (USA tool maker). I've never heard of that style of chisel, I've seen bigger ones of this style, almost always hand forged, that were used as center pointing tools with all of the residual patina. Thanks!
Hey Tony! Hope you can help me. I picked up a couple of wooden folding rulers in dire need of cleaning. So I am coming to the professional for advice. My usual method would be too aggressive and take of the lines and numbers. Any help is appreciated.
Howdy. Rules are tricky at best and over the years I'm batting about 50% with cleaning them. You might want to start with the least valuable one. A long time rule collector that I knew used to use very fine steel wool and mineral spirits followed by a coat of Butchers Bowling Alley Wax. I've done that, but once they get really stained, it's pretty near impossible to get the boxwood clean without destroying or lightening the rulings. I have a Stanley 62 rule here that I cleaned using Brasso Metai polish with a paper towel, then waxed it with my mix. I'll get a couple of pics and post the links here in a bit. Thanks.
Here are the pics.

Many thanks Tony. I figured it would be one of those near impossible situations. These rules are so black they are illegible. Thankfully I got them for a really good $ and they are only for personal use. @@olderiverhardgoods
