My tip is so put 2 googly eyes on the front, it makes it way better
Do not do it sometimes it can damage the sensors

@@proseiben3358 Yes it does. But you can get a radioactive reactor plant as an alternative. It might make you feel a little weird but other than skin burns, illness, death and mutations, you should be fine! I have one myself and I really recommend it.
@@frkn3856 ill try it!, sounds great
Since you’re recommending getting both the Elite strap and the official case, I suggest a good buy would be the Elite strap with external battery, which comes with a case. The case ($49) and strap ($49) separately are $98. The Elite strap with battery and case is $129, so for $31 extra, you’re getting a battery that significantly extends the battery life of the Oculus 2 and helps as a counterweight in the back.
Because Australia is a 3rd world ex-penal colony, we can't buy the Elite Strap With Battery Case here. :(
@@namewithheld8115 see if you can get the elygo headpad and then I just used hairbands to but a 15000 may battery on the back
I think the reason he didn't mention it was because it isn't compatible with the dock. For the dock you have to connect a little magnetic c cable head onto the headset that magnetically connects to its other end on the dock so you don't have to constantly mess with the port. In order to use the battery and the dock you'd have to constantly remove the little connector to plug in the battery
Yep this is what i did, cheaper option and a big battery capacity
@@namewithheld8115 just borrow a battery from one of elon musk's solar power plants!

I am surprised you didn't mention getting a Silicone cover. Even playing Beat Saber, the amount of sweat you get on the foam is just gross.
Yeah from what I've heard it's really bad but I never really sweat often so it shouldn't affect me as much but I'll probably get vr cover if I get the quest
Foam? I like to call it "The Gross Sweat Soaker".
I think it's just so obvious by now.
especially in gorilla tag
Especially, if you share with your friends. The VR cover pad is so easy to just whipe.. The foam.. Not really.
I've seen umpteen stories about the Elite strap breaking easily. I bought a Halo strap for half the price and its amazing.
Me too plus it gives you on the ear speakers for much better sound.
Where did you find a halo strap for $25? Elite straps without a battery are 50 bucks. And I couldn’t find a halo strap cheaper than $42
What is an umpteen?

The prescription lenses being "reasonably priced" is kind of a weird thing to say... even 30$ is too much... but when i add my prescription it goes all the way up to 135$thats more than a third of the price of the console
For the anker docking station : I'll just cut a hole in the box to charge the headset and for the controllers I'll just change the batteries
lol kewl hack.
Buy a set of rechargeable AA's online, costs like $15 and then you have two pairs of reusable batteries.
@Disverd yes, and they just were talking about them??
Me as a casual VR consumers found at the 64GB question was perfectly fine for me most games are only like around 2 GB be so you should be fine with the 64
This. Not to mention that there aren't that many good oculus 2 exclusives and literally everything is better with virtual desktop

I have the 128 gb quest 2 and it's perfect for me :)
this dude really made a quest accessory video without talking about vr cover
You can fit it in like so... "*Immediately cuts away all the time it took to adjust the remotes right*"
I love the video, but I’ve got to recommend against the brand name quest case. It does NOT keep the quest very safe. It’s 2 slightly firm pieces of plastic covered in felt amd they’re connected by cheap fabric. They both flex enough for something heavy (someone accidentally putting a slight bit of weight on the case) to damage the quest, the case also does NOT allow for most accessories. If you put any grips on your controllers, they’re not going to fit in the case. If you get the Frankenquest head strap, it’s not going to fit. If you like to keep a lens cleaning pen with you wherever you take your quest, its not going to fit in without just rolling around. You also can’t really fit the oculus link cable if that matters to you. For about $30-$40 (price fluctuates) you can get a much better case that has better protection, pockets for lens cleaning pen, lens cleaning spray, microfiber clothes, space for controller grips and frankenquest strap, extra battery, and oculus link cable. I say all this to save people the money I personally feel I wasted. If you’d like me to link the case I recommend, respond and I’ll link it here or list the name. I have no affiliation with the case btw.
Ayo where is the link
Actually this sounds really good wheres the linkk
Okay but where’s the link?
@@CU-Later look in the responses
@@widjadija yeah, there’s no link in the replies
Great now I will spend more money. Only cause you like it.
I would recommend looking further than the official accessories at some 3rd party things like the BOBOVR M2 headstrap and the Eyglo Carrying Case which fits that headstrap
i went with kiwi design strap with battery and kiwi design travel case
Must have is the frankenquest mod, the vive deluxe audio strap. Got the plastic mod from etsy to connect the strap to my quest 2. Small powerbank and velcro straps from amazon that I attached to the back of the deluxe audio strap. I owned elite strap and it snapped and had inferior audio. Vrcover facial interface and disposable inserts reduces almost all uncomfortable sweat. The frankenquest mod kills the elite strap in almost every way: sound, comfort, battery life, build quality. Even the ear muff mod paled in comparison to the frankenquest speakers lightly resting on your ears. Even the valve index audio was not as full bodied going against the deluxe audio strap since bass escapes aa the speakers have space between your ears and the speaker
I disagree with most of these recommendations, as I have watched hundreds of people recommending not doing some of these and I bought a different brand strap also like elite strap but the side plastic pieces are very flexible and it was 35 bucks. I am pretty happy with my choice and recommend doing so instead because I watched a friend have his elite strap broken right in front of me and it was heartbreaking to watch.
I actually really like the standard strap but i get why some people dont like it
its fine it just doesnt have much support on the back compared to others. making the headset sit more front heavy
Is there a version of the anker charger for just the controllers since I have the elite strap with the battery
No, if you want that just get rechargeable batteries
I applied grip tape to my controllers. That way I have extra traction and I can still easily change out my batteries. The tape is sold for pew pews (if you know what I mean), but it also works great for controllers.
I need them damnit lol. I keep popping out the battery cover
So hyped on getting this and playing saints and sinners 😍

@@jimyarbrough9935just gotta get used too the oculus movement. i had a similar sickness with phasmaphobia
I love how a whole dock is the same price as the oculus charging cable.
It’s an oculus link cable not a charging cable, link cable means u can play pcvr on quest
Which is basically the same thing as a $10 USB cable
256 is good for standalone. If you are using it in conjunction with a Gaming PC 64 is the way to go. Also the elite strap with battery is damn near impossible to find at the moment. Just get a decent battery pack with usbc output and put it in your pocket plugged into the headset. Sounds kind of awkward however even playing games like onward and Echo VR it hasn't once got in my way.
Just ordered it with a glasses spacer. It’s coming Friday, I am so excited!
How is it?
@@choppercove yeah I said it wrong I ordered it with the face fit kit. It’s very nice
Welp cant relate waiting for quest 3 lol
Have fun waiting 2-3 years
@@trofab6157 That's what people said last time.
I really think it will be similar timeframe again. The Quest 1 was basically still a prototype. Quest 2 is closer to a consumer ready product but still has some issues, though most of that was to keep price down.
I think the Q3 is going to be more of a pro/high end model with all the fancy stuff. If so, it would make sense to drop it sooner than later.
@@trofab6157 nope. Have u researched the topic more in-depth? They did the same with quest 2, so My guess is it will come out next year spring. Mark Zuckerburg confirmed it's in the works about a week ago.
@@torrenpelissero5568 yes , makes no sense buying all this crap for the quest 2 since it will become obsolete soon , we are getting the quest 3 by the end of the year for Christmas maybe or begging next year for sure
can’t tell if everyone in the replies is fucking around or if i’m retarded, but i severely doubt their following the same path for the quest 3 as they did for the quest 2 from the 1
Dont buy the strap, buy 3rd party straps instead, it aint worth the cash when theres such a large chance of it breaking as reported by the masses. I personally recomment the Orzero head strap, its incredibly comfortable, and easily moddable for- Externable batteries, headphones etc. And its 20-25 dollars less.
This guy expects me to spend 50% more, nah dude imma stick with what i have now
for the elite strap kiwi makes one more sturdy and comes with cushions pads for the same price
Ahhhh all I wanna know is where did you get that Baymax sticker?
He literally says it in the video

Must have #1... A gaming PC to link too. Boneworks and Alyx are the best.
Right. The standalone games are bad.
Wait what. You can't play Alyx on Occulus without a PC...?
@@sleepwellmychild Correct
@@sleepwellmychild You need to setup Steam Link to your PC. And play it through Steam.
I used a USB 3.0 to USB- C cable. Plus another USB 3.0 male to female extension. Pretty easy setup.
@@sleepwellmychild no way. The internal processor can only play oculus store games. Pretty sad.
You don't actually need a usb link but you do need a pc. it's super annoying with that wire lol. For the same price of the wire, you can get a wifi6 router and play anygame..... Wirelessly.
The dock doesn’t work with controller grips, not worth having to remove them every time I dock
XD
The halo strap is more comfortable than the elite and half the price.
My top 5+1 accessories would be:
1. Prescription lenses (if needed)
2. Halo strap
3. Kiwi controller grips
4. VR cover halo protectors
5. VR cover replacement facial interface (I've tried 2 different cheap ebay ones, VR cover and amvr).
6. A compact 10,000mah battery pack (I play in a lightweight summer hoodie and leave the battery inside the hoodie) but it can be strapped to the halo with velcro straps

Really had to tell me the beginning when I have the 64 gig
Ikr i just bought it lmfao
64 Gig is fine since soon we will have the oculus quest 3 and the 2 will be obsolete
@@hittrewweuy7595 Quest 3 is 18 months away.
The 64gb is fine for me, I have almost 40 games and apps installed and still 10gb left. Single player games once completed get deleted and most of the games are small enough in size that it doesn't take long to redownload them anyway.
@@rossharper1983 I hope it comes out sooner , I am ready for the quest 3 , I am already bored with the 2 😂
the quest 2 just looks adorable
if your on a budget and don't want to go for the Anker Charging dock. Seriously. Just get rechargeable batteries. They last so long with your controllers. The charging dock is more of a way to spend/waste more money.
VR-Optician is a great place to go for lenses if your SUPER blind like me (vr wave couldnt make mine as strong as I needed)
Never had a problem with my glasses touching the lenses of the VR headset. The consistent problem I've had are them being too wide for the headset itself.

Grub hub perks give you deals on the foods you love. Good enough to make you boogie 🕺
4:10 why spend like 50 more dollars on that while you can put it in a backpack
For one of the things the quest 2 case isn't a must have its handy but definitely not must have. Second a better facial interface is a must have instead of the spongy material the stock interface uses. Elite strap is like u don't need it there are cheaper alternatives. Docking station is nice but might not be a must have for most people. The ur illuminator is also not needed if u have defend lighting in ur room.
I don't agree with the strap or case cuz i got some grips for my controllers a cover for my lenses a case a better elite strap and thumb grips plus a face mask cover for 30 bucks from a 3rd party the grips velcro wore out but everything else is fine and i got it all around a year ago
You can find almost all oculus "accessories" on Amazon for like 1/5 of the price
Now that they have 128GB for the $300 one, should I get the 128 or 256?
cheaper lens adapters (UK only) Adlens. They do make such a difference
I second this. I have Adlens prescription lenses and they are fantastic and cost me £65.
@@rossharper1983 TBH I took a punt on them, thinking why are they not spoken about, no reviews nothing . Being a tight git I saw the price compared to others, no brainer.
@@slicedpage I think the reason they aren't mentioned alot especially in UA-cam channels is because they are UK based and overall we're a small percentage of Quest users. I've tried the ones in this video and they stick out so far from the oculus lense that they decrease fov and with alot of facial interfaces actually touch your nose and face.
@@rossharper1983 Also the more well known ones have a bigger publicity budget. The distance from the lens as you mentioned in certainly a big factor. Not something I thought of. All I wanted was to get immersed in this world asap. It is not a measurement that is given in any sales bumf . "Yes these lenses will get you closer to the action so much so your eyes will get squished!!" The Adlens ones are really close to my eyes but not so close I feel my eye lashes brushing up against them. I got lucky finding them. There are so many companies ripping people off with lenses I have to mention Adlens whenever I can. Hopefully then don't get on the band wagon and jack up their prices.
‘For just 50 dollars’
It’s a strap that breaks half the time it’s worth about a tenner
You don’t need a chrome cast you can stream it to your laptop then use an hdmi to show your computer screen to your TV
Everyone doesn't have a computer so it's a good substitute.
@@zackevans5844 I'm just saying if you have a Laptop or Computer you can do it the easy way but if you don't then you can use the chrome cast or I have a Fire Stick by Amazon
Does a fire stick work well?
Yes it does
2:21 yes, but there are much better and cheaper options on the market, like the kiwi strap and the BOBOVR m2.
Which of the 2 would you recommend tho? I am hesitant on the choice of which one to get 🥺
@@Skulldrot I personally prefer the BOBOVR. It’s slightly more padded and cost 10 less dollars. It is a halo strap though, so keep that in mind
I wouldn’t reccomend the dock is that you can’t use vr power and you can’t use grips for controllers
Not a lot of people use grips but I see what you mean
Trust me for the best experience u need link. After update v23 link is better in everything . Vr desktop is still ok but in games that they are not so demanding.
Funner. Just no.
More fun.
Not... More thinner. Just, thinner.
Did you graduate high school?
the psvr really hurt my head after playing for like 30mins because of the head band feel so sorry but I dont think I will like the elite strap
ive used the psvr headset for a whole day once when i played through blood and truth and i never had the problem of my head, neck, or anything hurting. is it your first headset or have you had multiple because its my first vr headset so im thinking you may have gotten used to a lighter headset and then after using the psvr it may have been too heavy so then it hurt your head?
Psvr can hurt quite a bit it's my first vr and I used quest 2 today
I don't own a quest 2 but I used my cousins one it's so lighter than the psvr
The anker docking station is the #1 best one in my opinion. I got it but the only downside is its a pain taking the charger out then putting an accessory. But its still good. The elite strap is also awesome. Thanks for making this tip video! Definitely subscribing. Also, i don’t personally like the chrome cast. I use a phone and cast it on there. Then cast that on my roku screen. A lot of these accessories are actually good. 10/10
The Elite Strap is known for breaking very quick.
I personally don't see a reason to get the elite strap because to me the regular strap works fine and doesn't move around enough to need something even more firm and nor does it ever annoy me so I'm good without that elite strap
Extended battery life.
Nice video!
Keep up the epic work!

I think this dude is drunk or just learned English, he can’t pronounce words or form a sentence with correct grammar🤣
After all why not? Why shouldn’t I make my Oculus Quest 2 literally look like Baymax.
No hand grips, would be my first recommendation!
Yep...the stock straps suck. Thrown my controllers several times..grrr
Honestly, you mentioned crap i haven't thought about. The IR light and the magnetic clip lenses are legit. Now my kids can actually get the full VR effects
I love the baymax sticker
Thank you! I've been looking through comments to see if anybody else cares. It's awesome

As a person who never took screen recordings I’ve never came close to filling the 64 gb, if you do plan on recording go nuts and spend more but if you just plan on just playing save the $100 to buy the games
It's so easy to remove all your recordings from PC. I occasionally back up, and delete all videos from the headset. I have 40GB left on it as well.
“Must have” mkay
I bought 2 Elite straps for my household. Both cracked and broke after careful use. We knew of issue and took extra care. Poor material quality in the plastic straps.
OcUlus. Not Ocolus. ;)
Fun fact, you don't need any of these
Trey fact
Instead of chromecast you can share it to ur phone and send a AirPlay to your tv
Tbh the higher gb quest 2 is good If you're a content creator but if you're a random jack prawn that doesn't really use vr that much the 64gb is more than enough
The Closed Captions of this video is so far off its funny lol.
XDDDD
No extended battery pack? Interesting... X3
On the topic of the Elite Strap, I hear it breaks easily....do people recommend anything else?
Duck tape
instead of the elite strap, think about the halo strap. its the same one the rift s uses, but has a hinge in the middle. very easily adjustable and very comfortable.
That IR illuminator thing is an amazing tip. Thanks!
Not once did you recommend the facial interface, lol.
The front looks like Baymax from Big Hero Six
get the kiwi updated elite strap its much better
I really can't agree with Anker's charging dock or really any charging dock that can only fit a single, specific product unless it's an electric toothbrush. Seems far easier to me to just have a USB-c cord and just buy an enloop charging pack for the controllers and then you can use something like vr covers quest 2 hand straps. Thoguh you'd still have to remove them to change batteries.
0:25 why tf are you putting your dirty coffe cup ?!?
Is no one else wondering about his power button I want one
Dude!
I have all but the case.. as.. well, stuck inside because its not the heat, its the COVIDity...
But was shocked to see you also had the IR light. lol... even the same one I have. too funny.
As a coder, I'm at my computer desk almost 24/7 so my monitors need to be up high to eliminate neck strain (strongly recommended)
I went to Home Depot and picked up two 8x8x4 square glass bricks (think glass brick shower walls) for $4 each and a 32x8 tempered glass shelf to go on top of the bricks far left/right supporting the shelf. ($12)
Underneath the shelf... between the bricks.... the ANKER.
on the glass above the Anker, between the monitors... an $8 Bluetooth controlled LED light from Walmart.
When the colored LED, facing downward, shines thru all that glass settling on the charging quest... well... get a tissue.
The IR light is on the shelf centered between the monitors, and in front of the downfacing LED lamp.
All plugged into a Google home controlled switch... so with headset on... you can turn off all lights and turn on IR.
(yeah... too much time on my hands, I know... but its convenient as hell for just a few bucks)
No point in the large memory quest. Most standalone games are miserable. The $50 case is also so sad, get a real hard case from pelican.
What you actually need is wifi6 and Gaming pc.
A big note about the Anker charger is that you basically can't have any other accessory with your quest. Unless you plan on going full basic b, no deluxe audio strap, no controller grips then it won't fit on the charger. You can use the DAS but you'll need to disconnect the audio every time you put it on the charger.
amvr charger i went for its cheaper it came with straps for your hands only downside is it chargers the quest 2 via chable but upside is you can have any accessory on the quest 2
I can't justify these companies ripping us off for storage... sorry but 128gb is fine
Hand straps bro, can’t forget those
Many youtubers try to get people to get the 256 gigs but dont know that 100 dollar difference is a deal breaker for someone without the YT money
Don’t understand why people buy battery packs when I can just plug in a 15ft long USB-C charge when the battery gets low to play and charge, practically being able to play for a longer time before I have to go somewhere, use bathroom or get bored (somehow)
This guy talking gives me a stroke
If you have a gaming pc disregard how he said you need more storage. Just buy more games on pc and use virtual desktop. 64 gb is fine if u have a good pc. Even without a good pc most games are small
For constant usage scenarios, it's batter have battery replace system for quick extension of working hours with ease. charging station is useful only for less-than-5-hours-a-day users~
Instead of the official headstrap you should get the kiwi headstrap. It is very good, comfortable, durable, and has a joint to lift the headset.
ngl, im lovin that bamax face
I have had mine for awhile and I think the big must have is Virtual desktop app if you connect to PC.
From what I've heard Virtual Desktop is pretty crappy without a WiFi-6 Modem, and people have said that is doesn't support as many games. A WiFi-6 modem is as pricey as the link cable, for apparently less games. Don't know about that one chief.
I’ve got an Apple TV so that a another thing you can get for
I wouldn’t recommend the Official oculus quest 2 case, since the zipper gets stuck easily. The weird zipper design can easily get it stuck, like REALLY stuck. It looks Slick as a water slide though.
They definitely went for looks over function with that one.
i dont even know how the controllers fit in, my parents got me it yesterday for my birthday with the quest 2
@@valensioc You don't put the bottom of the controller though the ring of the other, you lay them next to each other, and lay one turned 180 degrees (like they were sleeping in a tent)
Does anyone know when the anker charger will be back in stock and how much it will cost, im asking because its sold out on Amazon
ir light is a great idea, for cable - there's stuff that doesn't run at all with virtual desktop like medium, maybe there's an update or can someone test it.. that's why I got one, for just in case moments
