After burning through about 3 rangefinders from other brands…..for Vortex to offer their Lifetime Warranty on the electronics in a rangefinder was the deal maker for me. Super happy with my Ranger 1800! These new models look great
I use my 1800 as a monocular more than my bino’s when I’m deer hunting archery. Really like them. If I had to change one thing and that is to add a separate button on the side to adjust the brightness levels without having to go into the menu.
I had the Vortex Ranger 1300 for quite some time. It mysteriously disappeared. Probably just misplaced. For the hunting I do in heavily wooded areas, the Crossfire HD 1400 is perfect. I could also afford the Viper but there is no need. The first and last scan is what helps me. It was the one problem I had with the Ranger. It could scan off the leaves nearby when I know I can see farther than that. So, I would range in reticle with my Diamondback Tactical or my Venom.
What’s the difference in the optical quality between the HD 2000 & the Ranger 1800?
Unbelievable optics resolution on a very small scale
Love my razor 4000
Crossfire was a great price point but it gave me issues. It displayed circuit board-like lines when actively ranging and refreshing the display. In a woody shade it was very distracting and nigh unusable. In a bright store setting the issue was hard to see, but in shade or higher contrast scenery it was obvious. Tried 3-4 different copies too with no change. Staff at the retailer wasn’t able to see it until they did then all of the sudden it was like what is that? Bummer it won’t be on my list as I liked the unit otherwise.
Is it just me or did vortex dude just do about a half gram on one line
Why someone would buy a range finder without a ballistics calculator built-in nowadays is beyond me.
What about the razor
How long is the battery life?
ranger 1800 vs crossfire 1400 whats the difference ?
Crossfire is junk
At 3:27 you show the price for the Diamondback HD 2000 for $299 - but on your website it's $450 (i.e. 50% higher). Where can I get it for $299?
The Meateater store has it listed for 299
Yes that is correct. Currently we do not have this Diamondback rangefinder for sale on the Huntin' Fool website. Most retailers that have it in stock have it for sale for $299
Amazon
...and everything now costs significantly more lol
are yall done with the impact 100? thanks
Yes, the Impact 1000 is now discontinued.
Hey Vortex! How is it that the price on the new Crossfire (advertised here) went up about $200 in 10 months??
You said "best" but you don't have the Razor.
My Viper can go 3500y Very impressive
The crossfire is junk. I've had 2 of them and they both quit working after a few uses
Doesn't really matter when there's a lifetime warranty on it.
Yeah wow so great to have a warranty for a trash product that fails when you need it
@rorynelson7548 while that is true, you may have just gotten a couple bad ones. The product has good reviews overall.
