    3,000+ calories on a mostly plant based diet is the definition of empty calories. Mostly fillers and carbohydrates to replace most of the much needed fats and proteins they'd get otherwise. A lb of broccoli only has like 50 calories, if that.

  • @jayrezvani3821
    @jayrezvani3821 3 роки тому +4

    Yeah, I'm gonna call BS on most of what's been claimed in this video.
    Before the diet, I'm highly skeptical about him supposedly hitting a 440 bench at Bama. At the combine, he got 22 reps on the 225 bench. Last I tried, I got 18 and I've never gotten a whiff of 400 for any reps. Maybe he's close to that now, but if he could hit that in college his reps at the combine would have been in the mid 30s at least. That said, he could have been using a bench shirt, so maybe that would explain it. But either way, he has long arms and his chest isn't actually that impressive. His legs are huge though, and I've seen the video of him squatting 500, so no qualms with that.
    Regarding the food, first off, if I had to guess, they're all just lying and saying they're eating primarily plant-based to help promote Charity Morgan. If Henry supposedly had a hard time keeping on weight when eating animal protein, then it would be significantly harder if he switched to mostly plant-based. At best, maybe he has plant-based dinner every now and then or meatless Monday, or the team just has a bunch of vegan mac n' cheese every once in a while on camera (again, to promote Charity's brand).
    Additionally, plant protein doesn't "help your muscles heal better". Protein gets broken down into amino acids in the stomach, and when it is absorbed by your liver and into your blood, your cells can't tell the difference on where the amino acids came from. And the amino acid composition of most plant-based sources (esp if not a processed protein isolate) is garbage.
    So yeah, this entire video is filled with nonsense. Derrick Henry has incredible genetics, likely eats more or less like anyone his size who works out fairly frequently, and could possibly be enhanced (aka exogenous hormones; NFL doesn't even screen for test afaik). That's it. TLDR if you have aspirations to become a NFL running back, don't listen to anything in this video lol.

      @@Joseph-nh6in thank you. I see a lot of people making this same argument for veganism and it’s the same as saying because my diet works for me then it could work for a fish. Two completely different species. No disrespect to the plant based diet. I think it can be very healthy and beneficial in many ways but that argument is just plain stupid

    So basically he had expert nutritional advice to help build his body up for His body type and the position he plays but he bucked that because his homegirl is a vegan,unreal. Vegan propaganda is out of control. I eat some vegan proteins in supplemental form To mix it up but vegan diets are high carb low fat and low protein generally and a completely unnatural way of eating. Not to mention grains are highly inflammatory and hard on your testosterone and vitamin D levels. Guarantee you he’s not on a vegan diet he might have some vegan meals which is no big deal. I guarantee he still eat steaks and chicken and salmon and limits his carbs to root vegetables and greens for the most part.

    Saying “mostly plant based” is a little misleading dont you think? Even the standard American diet is mostly plant based when you think about how many grains are consumed. Saying “mostly plant based” is like most people saying “ya, I’m mostly vegan, except for the meat in my burger”.
