3,000+ calories on a mostly plant based diet is the definition of empty calories. Mostly fillers and carbohydrates to replace most of the much needed fats and proteins they'd get otherwise. A lb of broccoli only has like 50 calories, if that.

I know. It's insane how misinformed all these "top nutritionists" are about what demands an nfl athlete needs. NFL players aren't middle aged women who need to eat vegan or keto.
The weirder part aside from their not being any serious studies to show how low carb is actually benefical they said he had problems maintaining size, well jeez maybe if you added some carbs to his diet he'd be able to much more easily hit the calories needed to maintain or bulk up.
King henry is special, RB his size are usually injured... a normal tackle wont take that man down and they take more wear and tear on lower leg like megatron
What is (are) his favorite dessert(s)? Derrick Henry is blessed in many ways and he's well disciplined regarding his physical being and mental tenacity. There's nothing routine about this superstar. Tenacious, I'd say.
Anyone that isn't frail and lifts weights is eating 3k AT LEAST. I'm 5'8 170 and I eat almost 4k calories a day to be able to maintain my weight. I do oly lifting and a lot of cardio. If you're an athlete or you train heavy weight, 3k+ is standard
Plant based is not anymore beneficial or sustainable than non plant based. Its a lifestyle choice and the only benefit is the placebo effect you get from thinking you're actually eating healthier. Eggs are healthy, chicken is healthy, lean meat cam be healthy, fatty fish is healthy. Why restrict yourself ?? Just my opinion about restrictions, but all factual about my health points.
Yeah, I'm gonna call BS on most of what's been claimed in this video. Before the diet, I'm highly skeptical about him supposedly hitting a 440 bench at Bama. At the combine, he got 22 reps on the 225 bench. Last I tried, I got 18 and I've never gotten a whiff of 400 for any reps. Maybe he's close to that now, but if he could hit that in college his reps at the combine would have been in the mid 30s at least. That said, he could have been using a bench shirt, so maybe that would explain it. But either way, he has long arms and his chest isn't actually that impressive. His legs are huge though, and I've seen the video of him squatting 500, so no qualms with that. Regarding the food, first off, if I had to guess, they're all just lying and saying they're eating primarily plant-based to help promote Charity Morgan. If Henry supposedly had a hard time keeping on weight when eating animal protein, then it would be significantly harder if he switched to mostly plant-based. At best, maybe he has plant-based dinner every now and then or meatless Monday, or the team just has a bunch of vegan mac n' cheese every once in a while on camera (again, to promote Charity's brand). Additionally, plant protein doesn't "help your muscles heal better". Protein gets broken down into amino acids in the stomach, and when it is absorbed by your liver and into your blood, your cells can't tell the difference on where the amino acids came from. And the amino acid composition of most plant-based sources (esp if not a processed protein isolate) is garbage. So yeah, this entire video is filled with nonsense. Derrick Henry has incredible genetics, likely eats more or less like anyone his size who works out fairly frequently, and could possibly be enhanced (aka exogenous hormones; NFL doesn't even screen for test afaik). That's it. TLDR if you have aspirations to become a NFL running back, don't listen to anything in this video lol.
Facts, for some reason they just love to promote "plant based diet" like Tom Brady's, but in reality it isn't lol They eat organic grass fed beef and wild caught fish etc thats not plant based lol
Yeah, it's bs, they even did recent interviews and he said he drank milk all throughout, and that he loves milk, he said he loves steak chicken eggs, etc like first stated in the video on GQ magazine.
