Oxpecker: Why should I get blood from this bugs if I can drink it straight to the source? Evolution: Welp... OK, new species of Vampire bird is in progress
That's an anatopism, because oxpeckers are endemic to Africa and wallabies to Australasia. There are introduced wallabies in other continents, but not Africa (it would be an anachronism if it depended on introduction). Crows are native to both continents. It's also an anachronism because oxpecker ancestors had to evolve their adaptations before they could be considered oxpeckers, since the two oxpecker species are closely related. The adaptations evolved in oxpecker ancestors before they evolved into oxpeckers (which was when the two species diverged). But I understand that "the Oxpeckers" in your comment refers to oxpecker ancestors, so it is not an anachronism.
If you think about it the bird just flat out likes blood and everything it eats has a lot of blood and the part of it waiting for the tick to get full was just alarming …
Yep. When Dinosaurs died out, really the small carnivores/raptors only survived, as herbivores had no food and large Dinosaurs had nowhere to hide and needed lots of food small carnivores were the only ones able to survive. They evolved feathers, began to glide, began to fly, became birds.
@@fefek1 actually I think some of the first avians evolved just before the rest of the dinosaurs were wiped out, and feathers are known to have existed for quite a long time, so overall the dinosaurs to survive were most likely all small insulated bug and seed eaters, aka what the first birds all were basically
Should not be blaming the sheep, the Highlands used to be covered in forests, a 2 legged mammal removed most of them, creating the problem in the first place...
That road in Scotland in the beginning of the video is called "The Rest And Be Thankful" I stay near it and the name was given to that road because it is a hard and dangerous road to climb. It was named before cars were common. The view looking down and seeing the old military road going down into the valley below the new road is stunning. I was once driving up that road going north and the van I was in broke down and we had to collect water under a small waterfall halfway up the road.
That's a really beautiful and fitting name, and a cool (if inconvenient at the time) experience. Looks like that walk would've been exhausting, but very awesome that the water was clean enough for you to drink straight from the source. (I've never been to Scotland, but always wanted to see the beauty first hand and love hearing stories. I'm part Scottish, and all jelly lol)
Nice. It was a bit annoying to me to hear him blame the sheep for the landslides. The hill most likely used to be covered in Scots pine, as was most of Scotland until humans cut them all down. So nothing to do with the sheep really, they just eat what's left after we have destroyed their environment for short term gain😏

I love your content. I think your channel is a good alternative to watching movies in class with a substitute teacher. Its like reading a well illustrated magazine filled with natural science trivia. PS. Judging by its color, I think your coffee is weak.
