Will Power incensed at Scott Dixon after Road America practice crash | Motorsports on NBC
/ motorsportsonnbc
props to Dixon for taking it like a man and not acting tough back.Letting Power vent was right thing to do!
Like they both said - they caught a lift back together in the AMR truck and talked it out. Power was right to be royally pissed off, Dixon right to let him vent.
For the first time since New Hampshire in 2011, the double birds have returned!
Power kicking Dixon's car part 😂
*front wing end fence*
Pause
"Let's hear some radio"
*beep* *beep*
🤣
Power's onboard was best part. Literally summed the whole incident up. Wtf 😂
Will power has every right to be pissed
Absolutely
Scott thinking he's in a NASCAR Heat public lobby
I was near the spotter for Dixon yesterday when he blocked paluo and his spotter was literally on his phone in turn 1
On his phone meaning not paying attention?
Probably watching timing and scoring
That’s why I like Scott Dixon. He’s always a man. Really love watching him and I hope he wins another championship.
Yeah there was absolutely no reason to move to the left like that. Power has 100% every right to be pissed off.
Incredible insight. Thank you you so much for your service
He didn’t see him. That’s racing man. At least it wasn’t the race or qualifying
If you think Dixon did it on purpose, you’re wrong. If you think Will overreacted, you’re wrong. They talked it out like pros. Sucks for both teams
I completley agree. It was fs dixon's fault there but he defo didn't do it on purpose and power has every right to be pissed about that
I agree. But I also think Power didn't need to shove. Be adult.
Nah, good shove. Now throwing hands would’ve been too far. But after getting squeezed by 🥬 and then getting put into the concrete there’s no way I would’ve acted differently
I think he absolutely didn't need to shove. He acted just like my cousin's angry kid, except he is like 4 years old
@@DJ7mph there was nothin wrong with what Power did, you WASM's need to restart growing them balls, since they clearly are not there anymore. Or get on test shot therapy.
First rule of fight club; Take your helmet off.
With what Dixon pulled there, anything goes
First rule of driver club: when it looks like a fight, keep your helmet on.
bru as a brazilian this is just too funny and kinda epic. reminds me of that nelson piquet moment in formula 1 lol where he punched the chilenean driver
I think Dixon simply did not see him -- at the moment he started to move to the left, Power was still off on the curbs.
I remembered the 2013 Baltimore GP
Dixie is making more than a few enemies this weekend.
according to the merriam webster dictionary:
*incensed;* incensing. transitive verb. : to arouse the extreme anger or indignation of. archaic : to cause (a passion or emotion) to become aroused.
Thanks for the definition, NBC be making us use dictionaries to understand the video titles🤓🤓🤓
@@crazyDale3huh? It's a pretty common word in literature, I certainly hope nbc would use more than a 1000 word vocabulary...
Not a fan of a driver losing their cool like Will Power did and going after the offending driver, but I gotta say, I don't know if I blame WIll. Props to Scott Dixon to ease the situation. Scott Dixon is an experienced professional, just a crappy mistake.
Hey also the Detroit incident was when dixon slowed down too late and got his front wing under powers car
“That’s sums it up for Power thoughts”… 😂😂😂👌🏻
The finger at 0:27 😂😂😂
Will always bring the 🔥🔥🔥
if WP gets airborne here that might have ended terribly. 110% sure tho that Dixon would never do smth like this intentionally.
Even talking about it being deliberate or not is a waste of breath and key strokes...
Obviously not deliberate as it's f***ed both their weekends...
I agree. I’m not sure why Dixon was slowed down like that, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t intentional.
Dix had just spun.
If anything, I respect Dixon taking off his helmet and balaclava as Power approached.
Imagine the SCREAMING if Diffy was on the air
Power is angry with everybody lol
Power’s tirade turned a lot of people off, Dixon didn’t see him, and Dixon is a class act. Power, then goes to the pits and trashes everybody (track included), I don’t care if he ever wins.
Dixon: “I’ll wait for the next safety truck, thanks”
Will Power is not incensed. Will Power is PISSSSSSSED!! And he has every right to be.
Incensed, adjective:
very angry; enraged
A lot weighing on Willy P, both personally and professionally.
Will "Show" Power 😂😂😂
When Cheever did it... Watkins Glen 2006, Marco Andretti.
Let's hear the radio... Probably waved off by censor after two WTFs 😂
That was pretty bad. But... no one would do that on purpose. Bouncing off concrete will change your mindset pretty quick sometimes. Thats racing.
Will had an Absolute **** Of A Day, everything could go wrong did go wrong, Will had an Absolute ****Of A Day.
Spot on even if that flies over the yanks heads! Absolute C*NT of a day. I can picture him in his motorhome listening to that song seething.
The traditional Australian greeting
Google said it's Aussie vs. Kiwi.
Dixon is like a total misfit with everyone lately. .
Weird screwups he be causing. Hopefully his race is much cleaner.
Edit.
Grosjean has competition for The island of misfit racers. 😊 jk. I like RG.
That is exactly like iRacing with a 1200 iRating lapped car
Except none of those wrecks mean anything or cost anything
Guaranteed will be a barrier there next year if not tomorrow. Concrete is hard.
How many think this has something to do in those last laps at Detroit?
No one with a brain does. Clearly nothing but an accident
They said during the race commentary that the night before the race the MD of the race track parked a sewage truck outside Will Power's trailer and he then got in it and moved it to outside Scott Dixon's trailer! I would have parked a garbage truck instead because Will Power's reaction and statement afterwards was pure garbage! At least I've finally found a driver to hate and boo in Indycar!
Haha why?, cause he shoved him...big fckn deal.
This is a heat of the moment after a slam into a concrete wall, how would you react with testosterone going through the roof?.
No one really knows what Dixon was doing there. Prolly didn't see him. Will pissed the F off I would be too. Both handled it fine. Move on
Not enough sorry's were said at Canada Corner.
Ahh the good olde trans-tasman rivalry kicks off again.
これが6度のチャンピオンが犯したミスって訳ね。
これは、ディクソンがラインを急に変えたのが良くない😅
Dixon made a mistake. He should have apologized immediately and not back talked.
Power is in sensed! Could have gotten hurt there obviously, surprisingly there’s no computer assistance, year is 2023, even street cars have it
these cars are not meant to be like street cars. Adding computer assistance would be destroying the purpose of a race series like this.
0:26 Power gives Dixon the bird. Power's been talking about how much calmer he is these days but it appears to be only skin deep. Nothing against WP, just observing.
you should tattle
Power has every right to be frustrated. That was a boneheaded swerve by Dixon
why would he swerve left like that? seems intentional
He was stuck on the racing line and was trying to get of the racing line but didnt realise power was coming
Did either of these guys make it to F1? I don't think so.
F1 é uma merda
“Stop drinking during practice, ya c**t”
why didn't Scott just stay right?
What did this have to do with Grosjean?
Grosjean was ahead of Power on the practice lap, Dixon moved for him but didn't know Power was behind him.
I thought that was a woman walking toward Dixon
Will. I think I'll keep my helmet on.
Will "Im going initiate physical contact while wearing my helmet" Power. Typical Penske drivers
Dixon is a really good driver, not sure what happened there may be something broke, but power needs to get over
@Rob F Gotta love when a shoo in hall of famer makes a mistake and people say "hE cAn'T dRiVe" and "hE tRiEd To KiLl HiM"
Looks to me like Dixon was trying to be a gentlemen and thought he was moving off the racing line so Power could stay on the throttle, and simply mistimed it. One of those cases of trying to do the right thing and making it worse. Either that or he didn’t see him at all. No way was this intentional.
What did Grosjean do during practice that Will mentioned in the interview?
I'm guessing blocking Powers. Something must have happened before this
@@danielssonsgarage found it. Yeah, he squeezed him out despite being mega slow.
@@urstin thanks
How can you not know he was coming behind you
How could you?
Will was in his blind spot & the spotter didn't tell him?
Dixon LePaged Power
WOW
How is this roman's fault?
Did Will flip him off because he knows their not on TV anymore?
No, he's just learned he can flip of drivers and not Race Control.
@@danielhenderson8316 😂
Dixon would not do that intentionally, but there is NO good reason for him to move left where he did, especially when he was not at racing speed.
It was just a careless move by Dixon, and he should apologize to the entire Penske team for the damage he caused during a completely avoidable practice incident.
That is in no war a racing move...ever considered something went wrong with the car..
@@bazjones5282 Dixon admitted that he didn't see Power, but that was probably because he wasn't looking for him (or anyone else).
@@kyle381000 Ya I'm sure a 6-time series champion just swerves around not looking where he's going
@@mikes7651 Well, the 6-time series champion admitted that he didn't see Power because he didn't look for him because he didn't expect anyone to be there, which would explain why he felt at ease swerving across the road (as the video shows).
@@kyle381000 Fair enough...we didn't get that information in media in New Zealand. Thanks
Gotta take your helmet off first, Will, but there's no way Scott can miss him there. None.
I don’t think he saw him.
With what Dixon pulled, anything goes
Scott is not called the Ice Man for nothing. You don't see him react the same way when he gets taken out. Will needs to chill. You are both veterans in 2023. Not young guns in the early 2000's in IRL and Champ Car.
O cara ficou bravinho 😅😅😂
Imitou o piloto do qual ele é fan
Duh, no willpower.
Will Power throwing his toys out the pram 😂 IndyCar's answer to Lewis Hamilton 🤣
Let me introduce you to Max Verstappen 🤣🤣🤣
Leave Lewis’s name out of this! Lewis has far more talent and class than any driver in that thing called Indy car racing .
@@jasonbell5905 That more entertaining and better racing thing called Indycar.
Will so heated
That was a genuine human mistake, utterly stupid but a genuine mistake, so no need for the anger.
I wish drivers in Indy Car would fight more
Nothing ever happens at practice, too bad i missed it.
And as a team owner to have 2 of your cars wrecked like that.. wow, I would not be happy
Uhhh they're on different teams...
@@RpM_Jake Palou had crashed earlier in the session.
@@Saxdude1984 yeah I know, misunderstood the comment
ANZAC ❤ 😂😂
Love 140lb guys in fire suits and helmets showing their false bravado.
.....Well Will Power is 5-10 155 lbs, and Scott Dixon is 5-10 150lbs. So you are very close. I believe Graham Rahal is 6-2 200lbs so he is the biggest as far as I can tell.
As opposed to a random commenter on the internet, questioning the toughness of a professional racer? LOL!
Will power is lacking any will power
It looks like Dixon leaves some fresh rubber on the track just before they made contact. I wonder if he either got into the gas too much and spun a bit or if he had some weird lockup that caused him to shoot across the track. Either way there’s no way a guy like Dixon did it on purpose and Power overreacts. Earlier comment said they talked it out. Really? Power shoved Dixon and tried going after him again. Not a great look.
Will Power is a great driver and it's great watching his meltdowns, but he is low-brain let's be honest.
I think Dixon was trying to warm the rears by doing a burnout and it stepped out more than he was expecting. You can see the tire marks he left behind and it looked like the front wheels were pointed towards the right side of the track, not the left.
Agreed. Dixon, not knowing Power was behind Grosjean, put some 11s on the track and just lost it.
Dixon had just spun that’s why he was slow. He was in the racing line and thought he’d just get over before any other came up behind him. Unfortunately one was already coy up behind him.
Brilliant Dixon, absolutely brilliant.
Really getting sick of Dixon at this point. This is now 2 events in a very short time he’s hit Power.
Will Will Will, stop cocaïn and go surfing
Rare mistake by Dixon. As always power acts like a child.
Dickson lmao
@@Dolek135 old timers disease
Kiss me Ricky Bobby
I think Dixon was sorry.
If this is payback for Detroit than Dixon needs to be penalized. Detroit was a racing incident and both drivers were still able to race just fine after that contact with no damage. This is just being childish and this is open-wheel. It is too unsafe to be doing stuff like that and Power also hit a concrete wall
Bro are you dumb? It was a complete accident and it wrecked both cars
Watch the replay again. Dixon, not knowing Power was behind Grosjean, put some 11s on the track and just lost it. Definitely a mistake and Dixon said as much.
@@wrxtuan yeah he didnt see power at all. Definitely not his fault, his teams for not telling him Power was being Grosjean
@@wrxtuan Well that is good to know. But yes I did watch the replay and it looked like Dixon turned into him. Glad to know it was just an accident tho
@@monky4158 - well, ... as a major Scott Dixon fan, I'd like that to be true - but there are side view mirrors on the cars for a reason. A bad mistake by Dixon and they both paid for it. It would be good to hear SD's radio during that period, though.
That’s the last time Power should allowed to act like a child! What complete lack of professionalism!
Why a major media outlet will not call hid behavior unacceptable is wrong
Putting your Hans on someone is wrong.
Flipping everyone off like an idiot is wrong
Calling the team at Road America out due to his own lack of ability to keep his car on track is wrong
Not being able control his emotions during an interview is wrong
Criticizing Dixon again later is wrong, when power himself has made mistakes and caused others into bad situations is wrong.
Calling a competitor a piece of crap on live television is definition of zero class and non professional behavior!
I would a lot of respect for Roger if he were to sit power of the race to think this though. I understand he trying to win. However this absolutely toxic win at all costs behavior is a really bad thing, not only in sports but in all of society and should not be tolerated
Power needs to better than this if he wants be thought of as a champion!
Extremely disappointing
Lol it's really not taht big a deal, Dixon didn't see him and Power just had a vent about it. Both said they were ok with each other on the ride back to the pit. I'd rather a driver honest about his opinions than some media drone.
Lighten up Francis
SD didn't mean it.
Piquet and Salazar part 2
😂😂😂
Wouldn't even suprise me if this was purely for entertainments sake 😄
You waaay easily conspiriorized then.
Tin foil hat much?
ones a man and ones a child is all i see in this situation
Take that helmet off tuff guy. Dixons is off
I mean Dixon also used his racecar as a weapon to wreck another guy. Imo that is more cowardly than Will Power not removing his helmet
@@Austin_Windric He didn't do it on purpose. 😂
@@Austin_Windric Obviously it wasn't intentional. Stop making yourself look like a fool
Never liked will!!!
If you slow at 1-34-1-35 seconds will power is accelerating and I think he should have seen the direction of Scott Dixon's car is going left so to me that's when he should have started taking evasive action like getting right off the throttle and on the brakes hard.
You have no clue what you’re talking about.
Looks like something broke in his car you never go that hard to the left like that
Will Power quando jovem era torcedor de Nelson Piquet. Agora adulto agiu como um Piquet 😂
