My mind was blown when I found out about the X7. It looks so futuristic. The SIM and micro SD card slots are pretty awesome. I could not find new body shell parts, but I did have a new touch screen for mine and now I'm happy to finally have one in my collection. To change the battery( I don't remmember what model it is, but it's a normal Nokia battery with 3 connectors) you have to disassemble the phone, but it's not that hard.
Not sure if there's anyone like me who is currently not using a Nokia phone, but always have a place for Nokia in my heart. Thanks for bringing all the sweet memories back
My favorite Nokia ever made. Wanted this back in 2011, but was to expensive here. Then I searched for one for years, never came on the local Markets. Now I have a bunch. Still the X7 feels like some ultimate phone out of this world.
One of my most favorite mobile design. I had bought one second hand unit in 2019, but spoiled just merely a few months. I tried to find someone to reformat the software but sadly Symbian was died long before this. Watching this video via 8.1 AKA X7
This was such an awesome phone; I used it for a long time and the display, camera and speakers were really nice. Some of my fondest memories were captured from this phone.
@@rikeshshrestha7mail yes i agree. It feels like hmd just makes phone just for the sake of making it and selling it. Gone are the creativity and the innovativity of the Nokias of old
@4:01 lemme guess, you from the Ph ehh? Since that landscape seems a wee bit familiar lmao Anyways Nice review of one of the Rarest Vintage Phones out there rn,this prolly one of my Dream Phones back then alongside the N8 & 5800 Xpressmusic till the Galaxy S2 & S3 took its spot
I was lucky to have the E7. I just loved the design and loved Simbian Ana and the improvements it brought. I was perfectly fine at the time with what Ovi offered in terms of apps and so. Of course, at that time I hadn't yet had any experience with Android and it's store and apps experience so I cannot say if it was worse or something else. At that time I wasn't so focussed on apps but rather in love with touch screen devices. At the same time I had the LG Cookie, the Samsung Star, these kind of devices so compared to the latter ones, the Nokia was far more "smarter". Looking back, the cookie was so hyped but actually plain rubbish in tems of user frendlyness. It was dreadfully slow, laggy and the screen was so unresponsive that typing a simple sms while on the move was resulting in a new language at the receipient side :-). For all these simple, dumbphone kind of activities, the Nokia was superior at all levels. It's soo bad that Nokia abandoned Symbian or the Linux based attempts the did with the N9. It's soo bad that they refused to think ahead and further developed their systems as soon as the rumours of Android and Apple emmerged.
Lg Cookie, Samsung Star, man that brings many memories :) I had used the Samsung Galaxy S before buying the Nokia N8, which is why my experience with Symbian wasn't very good on touchscreens. They were behind Android and iOS, but were fine in isolation. I could see that continuing with Symbian without a major change was not sustainable, but the Nokia N9 fixed everything. It was fantastic to use, and its truly a shame it was abandoned.
Revisiting your video again, while using the Nokia X7 in 2023 for calls and texts, my previous phone something unexpected happened to it and it is stuck on the only option is to factory reset. I am grieving the fact that I do not know how to clear the partition to be able to use the phone again, also grieving a relative that is very closed to us who is dying. I think the reason why I am using the Nokia X7 is because of no distractions and because I do not want to go through losing all my photos and important documents in one go. It only connects to a few websites, but that is okay. I mainly use it to listen to self-help audios and old anime series I downloaded to the SD card I've not seen. Anyhow the pristine video review you made here as you always make them is superb in quality. Take care Abdulla! 🙏🏽
Yes, the X7. I think it was marketed as a gamer's choice at that time. But that was just silly marketing as it didn't have upgraded internals over the N8 and E7. The design was also hyped, but it wasn't to my taste. So leaving this aside, it didn't really have any selling point over the N8 (far better camera) or the E7 (that sexy sliding keypad). I kinda liked the sleeker and rounded design of the C7 rather. But I really wish I could get an E7 now!
The design for this is definitely a bit too in your face compared to the softer C7 :) But yeah, it wasn't different enough compared to the other lineup for it to sell well, and it was quite expensive too.
When i was student, X7 was my real crash. But i can't buy it as it was too expensive for me. I used to go to Nokia showroom to see this allien in Sylhet, Bangladesh. I can remember, i advised one of my senior to buy this X7. Still like it. If i get chance i will buy it sure. Thanks for your nice review 😊.
You should do the 5230 next. It's not an amazing flagship but it's still one of the most popular smartphones ever, and the fact that it was hugely popular and that nokia didn't manage to reproduce its success is the big story ignored by virtually every "analysis" of nokia's fall.
I bought it in 2013 super unique phone looks like transformer. One of my fav features of symbian belle is you can change or edit Theme display and theme effect as you want.
I have nokia 500 but it have some software issues and there is little spot on lcd but the sound produced by the phone via headphone jack is aswm and the loud speaker is also produce better sound than any midrange 2021 smartphone
The X& looks real sleek, but never owned one. I was using the C7-00 at that time. C7-00 was a decent phone, I rember using it when visiting New Zealand in Nov-2011 and the offline maps were awesome. Those SIM packages with data for tourist cost a bomb back then!! And it was one of the few phones with USB-OTG around. I was taking photos with my Nikon DSLR, and I could put the SD card into a card reader and connect it to the C7-00 with a OTG-cable. The C7-00 would ran hot this was, but I could post pictures shot on my Nikon to FB this way!!!
USB OTG was a very cool feature back then! The phone was very good for the pre data cheap era, with offline navigation for example which also worked really well.
@@AbdullaZaki My wife was using a Samsung Galaxy S1 then... There were things on her phone I envy (screen, battery, apps, camera) but the C7 held its own... Still I could see the end of the road Nokia/Symbian even if the C7 had updates for Anna, Belle... .. but then Nokia 920 would arrived and that's another story & roller-coaster ride 😬
I vaguely remember that I kinda want this back then. This was the time android looks laughable that buffed phone like this, Sony Ericsson and Blackberry were the big deal. If I recall this still has Ovi Store?
Great video! it was actually 640x360, a bit low for 4". Also I'm sad to say that I believe that Nokia deserved to fail, a premium handset that lacks autofocus, to get more sales on the N8, it's just stupid strategy.
I have one. It's the only cell phone I use (yes, it's old, I know), but if you know of a way to update this phone so I don't constantly get "Emergency Calls Only" or other like errors when trying to make a call when the phone has been on been on for a while, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
Symbian was a great operating system, but Nokia's mistake was to release phones with slow processors or low RAM, so there was a delay when moving through the menu or opening apps. currently still without taking out a flagship.
Nokia was way ahead of time, if they would have continued with android instead of windows, we would have seen a alot of futuristic devices. HMD should have continued their Nokia 7 plus designs for every phones with only minor changes. The only phone design from HMD that feels so good.
Had this phone back then it was really amazing and still looks amazing to this day. Sadly I had to sell it off due to a freezing problem that even techs couldn't repair back then. I really wish this phone would be remade with updated specs and android OS. The design was so awesome. To some it was risky, but IMO phone designs have really fallen off and have become too cookie-cutter. I miss the era this phone came out in where manufacturers were more edgy and put out some really unique and interesting designs.

I never understood why Nokia at some point decided that autofocus was no longer necessary on the cameras of its non-camera-centric smartphones
One of many stupid decisions that led to their downfall.
