If you really pay attention, you will notice that for the last "test", instead of putting in just 3 drops of iodine, there is a stream shot out of the dropper. This is very noticeable at regular speed, but go back and replay it at half speed. No doubt the makers of this video, were hoping no one would catch that.

Alkaline water is not good for you
Here's something you might not know:
Our body buffers against changes in pH by altering how much acid and base we produce ourselves and how much we get rid of in our urine and by breathing.
We exhale CO2, but every wonder where that CO2 comes from? It comes from breaking down sugars C6H12O6 into energy, but CO2 can't stay as CO2 in our blood so it reacts with water to form carbonic acid, which breaks apart into a free acid molecule and sodium bicarbonate, a base.
Chemicals like to stay in balance so each time you exhale some CO2 the bicarbonate picks up an acid molecule and turns into more CO2. This is what keeps your body at a pH of 7.4. Get a little too much acid and your body makes you breath more.
Fun fact the pH of your stomach is 1.8-3.5. It needs to be that low so that you can properly digest your nutrients and so that you can kill bacteria and other things that make you sick. When you eat proteins the pH of your stomach starts to rise as proteins are often fairly alkaline. Your stomach knows that protein means we need more acid, but it can't tell when it's too alkaline.
On to the water. Drinking alkaline water isn't going to balance out anything. Because water doesn't contain any of the proteins that tell your stomach it needs to release acid initially you are going to raise the pH of your stomach impairing your ability to digest your food and making you more susceptible to infections. Then, once the water has been absorbed, your body will immediately adjust its acid and base production to maintain the same pH levels completely nullifying any affect the water's pH may have had.
Specific things mentioned in this video:
Inflammation in the joints is caused by specifically by uric acid crystals. Uric acid is produced by the body when breaking down nucleic acids (the stuff that DNA is made of). The amount of nucleic acid rich food you eat, and not the pH, are what determines whether or not you will have high enough uric acid levels to cause inflammation. Drinking alkaline water will have no effect on this.
Cancer cells do not feed on acid. They feed on the same nutrients that the rest of your cells thrive on. What cancer cells actually do is produce acid. They like it slightly more acidic so they will produce their own acid to make themselves happy. So whats wrong with making it alkaline? Won't that make the cancer unhappy? No. Drinking alkaline water will have no effect on this because the cancer will just up its acid production. So what helps? Actually acid! Cancer cells can't raise pH as readily as they can lower it so if you make it too acidic for the cancer cells they'll die.
What does work:
So if drinking alkaline water doesn't help, what can I do? As I mentioned above our body has mechanisms to maintain a healthy pH. When something goes wrong and you've built up too much acid the issue isn't that you're drinking too much acid or too little base; it's that your body is running out of the essential alkaline reserve minerals that it uses to produce your own acids and bases, namely calcium, magnesium, zinc, and selenium.
Bottom line is alkaline water is a hoax. It's the snake oil of today. It won't make you better, and if you've got one of the problems related to acid the best thing you can do is eat a low nucleic acid diet rich in the essential minerals you need to maintain your pH. Oh and drink plenty of water... any old clean water will do.

The fact is, the pH of the water doesn't really matter, assuming it's not extremely high or low. The digestive tract is acidic, and if you drink alkaline water, the tract simply produces more acid, until the pH of the water is what the body wants it to be. I tried to replicate this "testing" and all I got was different colours of Iodine, nothing changed colour as shown on this vid, and I bought exactly the same water bottles. Disappointed because, I believe in the Acid/Alkaline activity on the human body and dis-ease.

um, just because it's alkaline outside the body does not mean once it's in the body it stays alkaline or causes an alkaline state. You ingest an acidic lemon, it alkalizes the body. You ingest dairy milk and it acidifies the body. I love fiji water though because it has naturally occurring silica and pulls aluminum and other metals out of the body. I would be interested in long term effects of drinking only alkaline water. For now it's fiji and distilled for me.

I've been working in the water purifying industry for about 5 years now. To save some people a few minutes, this is a commercial to advertise their own water ionizers. The testing is controlled by adjusting the number of ionizing drops used for each test, to ensure their products always have a higher alkalinity.
There is also no real health difference when you compare drinking acidic water with alkaline water. That's because pH alone is not a measure of water quality. PH basically just represents the ratio between acidic and alkaline ions. What determines the water quality is what each of the actual contaminants that make up the acidic and alkaline ions are. There are some healthy foods and minerals that contain acidic properties, and there are unhealthy contaminants that contain alkaline properties.
Most of the foods and liquids we ingest daily are all also well below a neutral 7. Our bodies are designed to handle this by adjusting the amount of stomach acid we produce to digest them. By ingesting high alkaline foods or liquids you can actually force your body to produce too much stomach acid while it tries to neutralize it.
This can cause many symptoms like acid reflux or heartburn. In some cases, consumers with these symptoms will even blame other acidic foods or beverages instead of the fact that they're putting baking soda in their drinking water.
To be clear, there is no ratio of acidic and alkaline ions, and so your PH is not based on what it's not...some sort of ratio of what don't exist acidic and Alkaline..Ions. Rather you have 2 states of elemental change, 1 acid by its property is either gaseous or liquid erodes and dissolves solid into liquid matter then liquid into a gaseous state, at its strongest acidic level it will be nearly 0 ph, your stomachs acid Hydrochloric has a PH of around 3.2PH. Since we have seen and can even access acid, or have watched Aliens. We have seen acid liquify metal as well as the liquid bubbling then into a gaseous fume. Hydrochloric acid does not harm or break down organic matter fast at all. And the colder the matter, the longer it will take. Yet it will burn solid concrete, and most porous non organic solids into a gas rapidly. So how does a PH 3.2 liquid get produce tfel s'tahwin a body made up of mostly organic matter? And why doesn't it burn a hole eventually through the stomachs wall, enter the blood stream and kill us? Why when we vomit, do we not see everything we puke on, dissolve away like in the movie the fly? our body's are layers of different PH requirements to obtain max efficiency. The lining of your stomach, liver, pancreas, kidneys, and digestive tract, esophagus, and parts of your mouth, nasal and sinus chambers and the brain, have the body's highest PH requirements, stomach being, the area possessing the one of the highest Base or Alkaline properties, enough to contain the acid long enough for organic breakdown, passing all its contents onto the remaining parts, all of which, further acidically breakdown but contain this chemical reaction, until what is left organically, we get rid of, and for most of you, deposit it here or in other social media forums. The blood PH is always fluctuating, depending on the energy requirements of the body's output, and it's picking up further nutrients and toxins all throughout the body. To allow the blood room to move and effectively rejuvenate, heal and or remove harmful and dead cells, it tends to work best when leaning between 6 and 7PH, but can be even lower but anything nearing 5.5 is going to become a big problem. What stimulates the brain to work at its peak is to be in a very Base environment, in fact the highest PH in the body will be found in and around the brain. Brain cells like most cells thrive in base or Alkaline environments, brains tissues are unique to any other body cell, where they are around a PH of 8.2 to 9 since our blood having passed thru the heart, adding lung ingested oxygen, raises the ph so restoring our blood cells and their chemical composition, allowing the brains neurons to send signals and directions to where everything is required and needed. This is the blood ,at it's highest ph, as the brain receives the oxygen it requires to survive and keep the body surviving, from this release of oxygen into the brain. Under stress the brain sends many wrong signals, and that combined with an accelerated heart rate, does not raise the ph of your blood enough. Depending on your health this can now cause, extra acid in the stomach, poor digestion, puking, blood so acidic sometimes that the brain rejects the oxygen in the blood, and lets it go, causing a fainting spell, worse being the blood gets so acidic it weakens a small blood vessel in the brain and bursts open, this acidic blood, or even healthier lower ph blood, consumes the brain cells on contact, or what's known as a stroke. Your blood in a more acidic state will move at higher speed, and erode very slowly, organic matter. The blood can only carry and rebuild these roads, when the blood is more alkaline...thus low ph, erodes, higher absorbs, and then deposits become the issue. if there was one PH in the body to maintain, we'd live for 24 hours take our first shit, and explode

I am simply showing people that drinking purified water whether you use a $2000 filter or a simple Britta filter from your local grocery it is still going to be better than drinking straight out of a tap.. I recommend distilled water. Near me upstate New York, "Dollar General Stores" have the best distilled water for only $1 a gallon.
What's very important is the amount of Total Dissolved Solids in the water, which can be measured with an easy to order TDS meter. Therefore, a water distiller is way better than a water alkalizing machine. We've been using one for quite sometime, and the biological results have been superb! Research water distillers and then buy one. Also research 'the benefits of drinking distilled water.'

Not sure why you are using iodine as an indicator, a universal pH indicator would be the obvious choice or even a pH meter. Iodine reacts with starch and I have used or seen this test in the past in my 40 years working in a laboratory, bit confused to be honest. Water can vary in pH depending upon source and time of year due to way too many things to explain here, it is never constant and additives are commonly added to keep them stable.
The cost is prohibitive for the average person. Instead try including a teaspoon of baking soda in your smoothie which does the same thing.

This "alkaline = healthy and acidic= unhealthy" bullshit has flooded the internet. If you drink too much alkaline water water, your body goes into metabolic alkalosis, which makes you hold your breath longer between breaths so that respiratory acidosis may occur to balance that metabolic alkalosis. Also when there is an excess of oxygen in the blood (in case we get extra oxygen from highly alkaline water, which offers better hydration), more iron is released, which on the long run can make one anemic. Also too much oxygen of red blood cells results in oxidation. In other words, balance is what we need, not alkalinity. Most pathogens thrive in alkaline environment. Acids actually are much more sanitary in most cases. Alkaline water will spoil before a can of coke.

Essentia is 10+; I actually drink it often when I am dehydrated but I am not looking forward to alkalize my stomach or blood; the more acidic the stomach the better though.

Before you start lecturing, go take yourself an anatomy class, professor. Your stomach needs to be the lowest possible acid 1 to 2 pH, if you know what this is.

..... but when you drink lemon, an acid, it alkalises the body. So maybe the distilled water , with its slightly acidic reading is the best after all. People always need to complicate things. If you must, structure your distilled, and add crystals etc, but don't add minerals. The body cannot absorb minerals from water, only food.

not sure if it's just me, but didn't it look like the guy adds more iodine for the alkaline ionized water test?... I understand this is a test to find the healthiest water offered in the market, however if you're testing something make sure you have the right measurements. You don't want to be biased or look biased.

This is very dodgy science. You should be testing with a pH meter - and not contaminating the water with your thumb...

First of all, iodine is not a pH indicator. Iodine simply disproportionates when dropped into water. It does not react with any hydroxy- or hydronium ions and therefore cannot tell you whether something is acidic or not.
Second of all, blood is a pH buffer so unless you literally drink a glass of 1 mol/l hydrochloric acid the pH will not be affected. Vice versa it will also not be affected when you eat/drink lots of alkaline things, your blood will always have the same pH value.
Third of all, only drinking alkaline things is really bad for your stomach. Your gastric juice has a pH of 0-4 (depending on how full you are) and due to this highly acidic environment, almost all funghi, bacteria, etc contained in your food (yes, your food is not 100% sterile) will die and not contaminate your body from the inside.
Compared to your blood however, your stomach does not have a stable pH value and therefore taking up lots of alkaline substances can put you in some real trouble
